Best salon during covid. Moment you walk in, thry make you sign a book giving your name, time of arrival, and number. Purpose i assume is so they can contact you in case someone who worked or visited the salon had covid. Also, made me sign a form claiming i was not sick or traveled within past 2 weeks. Then told to use hand sanitizer. Then i was allowed to sit for service. All staff had mask on during all service including threading by having thread clipped to their shirt or around their necks instead of holding it in their mouth like they used to. Then i witnessed staff clean chair after my use and informed me it is cleaned after every use. Eyebrows went from $3 to $5 which is still very reasonable. Alot of other businesses are not taking the same measures in providing sanitizers and cleaning equipment after every use. The BEST place to get your eyebrows threaded. It is my GO TO. Promila has been doing my eyebrows for about 2 years now and I fully trust her with my eyebrows (and that is a hard trust to earn am I right ladies?). In addition, the prices are crazy good! I believe eyebrows are $2.99 but if you want to get eyebrows and upper lip it is $5. Awesome. Just Awesome. They offer other services as well since they are a salon. They have half their salon devoted to hair clients. Grace's Beauty Salon includes a rewards program which is just icing on the cake from the low prices. You can easily access your rewards progress through the app "Fivestars" which can be downloaded on your phone. Every $1 you spend = 1 point. If you earn 100 points you get a FREE eyebrow and upper lip threading, 200 points gets you $10 off a service, and 300 points is a FREE 15 min head oil massage. Highly recommend. The only downside is parking is on Hillside so it is a busy road so there may be limited spots available because of the other stores. read more

Used to be good. But now they get so packed that they rush their work. Plus I've noticed on their busiest days (weekends), they'll only have 2 people working during the day. I've been here during the week and they have 4 people waiting around doing nothing waiting for customers. They should probably have more staff on the weekends. There's been times I've waited for over 20 mins and they'll take someone ahead of me. When I speak up, they start talking about me in hindi or Gujarati not realizing that I understand lol. This is the only place I will forever get my eyebrows done. I used to be a fan of getting my eyebrows waxed when I was younger but then tried this place a few years back due to the proximity to my house. Ever since then, I haven't needed to go anywhere else! 2.99 for eyebrow threading or 5 dollars for eyebrows and upper lip. Tell me a place that can beat that?! They also recently established a rewards program and after a certain amount of points you receive a free upper lip and eyebrow threading. Parking can be tricky due to the location on hillside avenue. Your best bet is to park on the side street on the same side of the store or across the street on hillside drive and cross hillside. No need to make reservations or appointments. You can walk in and it may be a 10 minute wait max at the busiest of times. There are usually 2-3 ladies there for eyebrow treatment. Went there with my 15 year old. We both have short hairstyles, but apparently no one in the salon had any idea what to do. I left with an uneven undercut and my kid was in tears, due to getting the exact opposite cut of what they asked for, like asking to leave it long in the back, but first thing done was to cut it shorter. This location is the best. I've been to a lot of different eyebrow locations in the past and finally found one that is amazing.. I've been to this location before but it's only certain girls in here that can give you the look that you are looking for. I take my hat off to Sona. She amazing. If anyone is looking for great eyebrow treading, please go and see Sona. She's a miracle worker. Do not go here for eyebrows. The only person that does a good job and does not mess up your eyebrows is the owner. However, even if you call ahead asking if she's available, 9/10 times she is busy and tries to push you on to another employee. They've wasted my time too many times. She and Sona has always been so kind , professional and knows what they're doing! All of the girls that work there are great. I've truly given this place many chances over the past 5 years. But 9 out of 10 times I've left this salon so disappointed. The pro's about this place is that it's very inexpensive. However, there are only 1 or 2 good workers that are able to thread eyebrows without making them uneven or thin. The last time I went to Grace, the lady threaded off the entire end of my left eyebrow. I told her she made my left eyebrow shorter and she replied by telling me that they were extra hairs on the end of my eyebrow. Unbelievable. I wish I had gotten her name, she was a much older lady and relatively new to the staff. I left there so upset, with thinner and shorter eyebrows. The owner even admitted that they always mess up my eyebrows every time I go. So ridiculous. I recommend driving down a bit further to Kaya. I've been going there since and they've finally fixed my eyebrows. My eyebrows have finally grown in and look beautiful. I'm so happy thanks to Kaya. No thank you Grace. read more

Decided to give this place a try since it's convenient for me as I work closeby which enables me to get my eyebrows done on my lunch break & for $2.99 at that. (1 star for convenience & 1 star for price). I gave this place 2 tries. The first time I went, there were people waiting. Pretty good sign, right? I was taken right away, by a young girl.. she looked like she was about 18 years old. She offered to take the others waiting, but they said they were waiting for someone specific. She did my eyebrows in such a rush, didn't pluck or trim! I looked at them & was shocked at how horrible they looked. I then understood why none of the other women waiting wanted her to do their eye brows. I figured I'd give the place another try, & just ask for someone different. I went again on my lunch break & it was empty. Not a single person waiting & all of the employees were no where in site. I waited in the front for a little while until a woman came out chewing her food. She took me right away. She did NO better. She left stray hairs at the end of each of my eye brows & when i pointed it out, she said she left it because she thought I would like longer brows. HUH? Never again going to this place. Came here for the past four years. I only go to Nisha and when she was away I took chances with the other ladies who thread eyebrows. All in all they rush through your eyebrows and something always looks off to me in the end result. Always left with cuts on my brows. Today I went asking for Nisha and quickly got denied that she was too busy while she was taking other people. Found another salon not too far from this one. Might as well pay a dollar or two more for someone who actually pays attention and doesn't look up every other second to talk/gets easily distracted while threading. read more

I come here for my eyebrow threading and they usually do a good job. They are open until 8pm and have several women on staff. At times, they can be very busy, but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. When you check out, they have a machine where you enter your phone number and you get rewards based on your number of visits. I've gotten my eyebrows done for free because of this! I was really looking forward to coming here after the positive reviews. I can't speak for the eyebrows but I was very disappointed with the diamond bleach. For $20 it is not worth it at all! The hairs still were showing. One of the staff members did the bleach and after I showed her that some hairs were still brown she told the owner who then told me that it's supposed to be like that but she can lighten it more for me if I want. I told her to forget it. While it wasn't a terrible job, it wasn't worth $20. I get this done every few months and I've always had positive experiences at yasmeen beauty salon on Jericho tpke. She really lathers my faces and cleanses it and then bleaches. She does it for half the price too - $10!!! Go there instead! read more

Gave multiple chance to people who work here and i could honestly say none of them know how to do eyebrows. They can't make both eyebrows look the same. They always screw up. I have been getting my eyebrows done with Nimisha for over 15 years and it hurts to say that the experience has been the most unpleasant over the last several years. Since she is the only one the typically doesn't mess up eyebrows, theres often a high demand for her. On multiple occasions (including today), I've been pushed to the side so people who have come AFTER me were attended to. This isnt the worst part - it seems that every time it is my turn, she is so busy with calls and talking to other clients that she rushes through the threading and leaves me with mismatched, extremely thin eyebrows. This has happened countless times but I have never spoken up because of the long relationship. I haven't come to the salon in over two years for this reason and only went today because of an emergency. Never again. If you need a quality threader who will take their time with each client and ensure their clients needs are met, go to any other salon on Hillside Ave like Lotus Beauty Salon. If don't want to grow out your eyebrows for god knows how long, find another place. read more

Ask for Nila: in nearly a decade of getting brazilians, she is the first beautician to shape the landing-strip exactly to my specifications (not too short, not too wide). Went in for a regular threading (first time since February), ended up asking about facials and was told about a 20 min facial I could get. There were no customers inside except me so they began to do the facial in the same chair where my threading was done. I had to take off my mask for the facial--thick cream all over my face. While I was laying there another customer came in for a full face wax. Obviously, she took off her mask and was put on the chair directly next to me. The doors were closed, even though weather permitted for them to stay open. Neither of the 3 women working there thought to move me in the back -- or open a door. After 10 mins of not knowing what to do, feeling awkward and not wanting to start an issue--I had to ask the woman if they should place me in a back room since I had no mask on and the girl finishing her facial wax did not either. I was told, "there's 6 feet" and basically not to worry. I said, "umm...no, I'm the one with no mask on and you have no ventilation in here." It was bad enough they were not being proactive to begin with, but then to be SO dismissive upset me even more. The waiver they make you sign when you enter should NOT absolve them from following common sense and protocols for the safety of everyone in there. On a not so important point--the facial did nothing either--nothing. They apply a cream from an unlabeled jar (most likely some commercial brand that they pull the label off of and sell off as their own). I'm usually a much more intelligent consumer, but I got suckered into that facial. Don't get suckered into it like me! How many businesses can tell you that they're not allowed to tell you what they're putting on your face. I almost left no tip for the 1) lack of protocols followed, 2) the dismissive comment, 3) the scam facial - but these are working women so I left something. In closing: 1) No beauty regiment is worth your health. 2) Any place that has unethical business practices and out right lies for a $20 sale (ie - the facial ingredients/brand) is not a place I will ever give my business to. I'm one of those loyal customers-- if i like you, you're stuck with me (and everyone I can recommend) forever. Not Grace's though. read more

If I can give this place ZERO stars, I would. This place is a complete disgrace of an establishment. When you first enter this salon, it's UNCLEAN. They don't clean or sanitize their tools or even between customers which is disgusting. Then the woman who was waxing my face was rushing and not even asking me if the wax was hot ( which it was), she was rushing and even got wax in my hair. After I told her this, she denied she did anything wrong and then disappeared and another woman continued. The woman who disappeared magically reappears and starts to help another customer and talking about me in Hindi. First off, it's extremely DISRESPECTFUL and UNPROFESSIONAL to talk about customers in front of them- she was too ignorant to care if I understood what she was saying. After I told her it was unprofessional she screamed " I don't care". I will be telling all of my friends and family to never return to this place. I have only tried the eyebrow threading and nothing else so I can't vouch for their other services. I came to this salon based on a friend's recommendation for Nisha, so I knew I would be in good hands. She has a better touch when threading and doesn't make it hurt as much as the other workers. When I walked in the door at 1pm she already had 3 customers waiting for her specifically! It was a moderate wait, about 22 minutes. She is really great at what she does. I had an arch but it wasn't well defined. She really saw the natural shape and followed it. She let me take a look before she accidentally over plucked and gave her opinion on taking out more strands. She also trimmed the brows and brushed them gently to find their shape. I was out of the chair in less than 10 minutes! Speedy and accurate! Did it hurt? A little. But pain is beauty and that is a small price you have to pay (pun intended! Lol) I've never seen a better deal than what they offer here. It is so amazing that when I spoke to a few people they even said they heard of it! I'm glad I found a new place I can trust! Found this place on Groupon, last minute waxing before my tripand reasonable. So the place was empty and she got to me right away. So getting started i noticed that the lady took out this cloth strip to take the wax off with. Keeping an open mind she started with the worse area possible, not taking it easy at all. She finished me in 15-20 minutes, it usually takes me 30minutes. On top of that i later notice that she did not throw out the dipping stick after she used it. First and last time coming to this place! Went in on Saturday and I told the "stylist" how much I wanted to have cut off and she confirmed the length.. but little did I know that was an act. I only wanted a couple inches cut off and ended up leaving with extremely short hair about shoulder length when my hair orginally was mid chest area. After desired length was cut she started to cut layers. If would of known layers would leave me with super short hair then I wouldn't of gone. And layers were not as I had asked. I had asked for long and very little because my hair is already thick as is. And what does she do? She gives me extra layers and super short at that as well. Making my hair extra thick. Complete opposite that I had asked for. And the bangs nothing as I shown her how I wanted them to be, came out short as well. I only was able to tell the awful cut that I was given when I went home to style it myself. I had to go to a completely different spot to have my hair fixed. In EG that I highly recommend everyone to go too but not at this location. They seem to cut the way they want and were more interested in selling their other services and products. Idk how many times I had to tell them no. Definitely will not be going back here nor will I recommend this place to anyone else! read more

This place is good for eyebrows only. The review I'm writing is for facials. I purchased the full facial not the express package. What they gave me was express and just extended the time by not being present in the room. For example, she put herbal bleach on my face (did not tell me additional price) and left for 20 minutes! Came washed it off cleansed my face and then left again for 10 minutes. Came back started steamer turned it off after 5 minutes and then left he room again. Came back five minutes worth of extractions telling me it will create and infection and then left again! Came back massaged my face for five minutes and then left again! I wish I got up and left!!! Worst facial experience. Majority of the time she was outside the facial room! Poor customer service. I wouldn't go there no matter how much money I'm trying to save. Go elsewhere for facials!
