It's hard to find a good record store in Arizona. Grace Records fits the bill. While they may not have EVERYTHING you want, they sure try to have a diverse selection of vinyls. They also carry an abundance of pins, shirts and posters. The atmosphere is trendy and the store is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location in San Tan Mall is very accessible. Upon walking in I see this place as a cute record shop with a good selection, but I do wish they had a sign stating they sell unofficial pressings or labeling the records that are unofficial pressings. I will unfortunately not be back here after an interaction with what I assume is the manager, he was rude and made me feel super uncomfortable so I left the store as soon as our interaction was over. Besides the person I had a bad interaction with, the other employees were kind and helped me when I asked. :) In conclusion I would say that if you're looking for some records I don't think this is a bad place to go, just make sure you do a little bit of research on the specific record you're about to buy and if you're able to check out with a nice employee I would definitely recommend that. Well I was told the store does not do refunds regardless of the vinyl not being opened and being in the package. I asked the employee when purchasing if the vinyl can be returned and was told there would be no problem as long as its in good condition. After being told I can only do an exchange and leave a review. I check both receipts and both say the item cannot be returned if used or opened and the store has no signs indicating no returns are allowed. read more

I called down there and was simply trying to sell a antique record player, they said they bought antique record players so we drove 30 miles to come see the store. We walked in and told the staff that we had called about the record player and the man was very rude and said they don't buy them and confined to raise his voice. Very rude people. Doesn't know manners at all. Lucky I had my family or we could've handled some man issues outside. Then I asked where I could find a place that could buy it possibly and he just replied " google it" like bro I did and your shitty store popped up whatever. It's so damn hard to find a good record store anymore. I heard through a friend about Grace Records after I thought I'd been to all the valley had to offer. It's easy to find with plenty of parking. The store front has a great vibe and the blue in the sign name pops. I knew I'd love it the second I walked in. Every section was labeled great with so many old options to choose from with the newer options as well. I'm a 60-80s fan typically from rock to soundtracks you name it. But my heart typically follows the grunge/punk finds. Today it was NOFX, but unfortunately it was an album I already have. I was bummed though because I couldn't find one Chris Cornell album anywhere. Always next time though right? There were so many old school type poster options, as well as T-shirt's, stickers and patches, funko pops, record players etc. If you love vinyl this place is worth the stop. My only drawback was the only employee we saw literally looked at us when we walked in and just went about her business; not so much as a hello. She did however answer some questions for me when I approached her and was friendly at check out. Nothing that would stop me from another visit. read more

So here is an update to my previous post. I called today to follow up and I asked to speak to the manager as I was previously instructed to do by the previous representative. The person who picked up the phone today said that the manager wasn't there, so I asked when I could call back to speak to him. I was told that she could not provide that information and then politely stated the following word-for word..."so you can come pick up your merchandise and that's the end of this situation" then she disconnected the call. I called back and the person Brent who said he's manager was actually there and he answered the phone, and he told me the same thing. So I guess that's the end of the situation (as far as they're concerned). Unfortunately for them I recorded the calls which were normal conversations until the gal decided to just disconnect the call. A pleasant surprise at San Tan Village... it's a nice store with a wide selection of albums and a good number of deals. On my visit, I found a number of gems and I barely touched the surface. You could spend hours going through all that is available. We were allowed to browse in peace, which I very much appreciate, and when I had a question, the gentleman working the front counter was very friendly and helpful. I was super excited to find that this store had a few of my favorite records, and planned to return since it is closer to my home. But, as a few others have said, don't bother buying a new record here unless you're content with the possibility of eating your money OR being publicly and condescendingly shamed when the very common issue of the record having defects arrives. They won't give you a receipt with a return policy on it, but will email you one that says they don't do returns or exchanges on new records that have been opened. They seem to have a "customer is always wrong" approach, so If you have an issue with a manufacturer defect or abnormally noisy record, they'll try to prove you wrong by making you stand there as they interrupt the store's music, play the record you're trying to exchange, and say that your record sounds "fine" through the store's speakers that are mounted near the ceiling about 15 feet above the ground. And instead of just doing a simple exchange, they'll pull out one disc from another returned copy, make you visually inspect it for defects on the spot instead of taking a new sealed copy home, and then tell you you're not allowed back in the store if they have to take your word for it and go through with the exchange. I've never had such a terrible customer "service" experience in my life. Go to Zia. read more

Once upon a time, there was a diehard record collector who was out hunting at a thrift store in the Valley. He had been collecting for over 40 years and had been to thousands of garage sales, thrift stores, estate sales, mail-order and a few record stores (just to see if he was missing something). His collection had grown to over 30,000 lps and thousands more of everything else. A fellow thrift store record shopper told this diehard collector that he loved to go to a place called 'Grace Records' in the San Tan Mall. He loved to look through their three-dollar records and told him to check it out, so the collector did. Indeed, there was such a store tucked away in the mall, and it did have three-dollar, one-dollar, used and new records. They also had many cool wall-displays, posters, t-shirts and other music-related items. Being a die-hard collector, I was naturally attracted to rare, unusual and inexpensive records, I spent a couple years checking for new, inexpensive additions (with some decent finds); however, I didn't get hooked until their manager, Brent told me that new arrivals were put out every Friday. They were shown on Instagram videos every Thursday at 8 p.m. Being a huge garage and psychedelic record fan, he told me that a huge collection of just such records was in the back room, waiting for a random week to be placed in the new arrivals bin. Needless to say, I made it a point to watch Grace Records' Instagram video the next Thursday! At first, there were a couple items that had eluded my hunts over the last 40+ years, then more and more showed up! Wow! I was like a kid in a candy store! I had to buy some of these when the opportunity had finally arrived! Over the following weeks, I got to know Brent and some of my fellow record junkies better. Brent surprised me with his vast knowledge of the genre, his fair pricing practices, his integrity and sense of humor were all refreshing, and I knew that I had found a really special place that would keep me coming back and often "giddy" with excitement! In the past, I had always found record stores to be overpriced, self-important/condescending or disappointing in their selection or too much of the "headshop" vibe to feel comfortable there. Grace seems to strike a good balance between hard core obscure record aficionados and curious teens checking out a vinyl store for the first time. Since I never pass up an opportunity to unearth another record gem, I'll never give up hunting elsewhere, but I will definitely invest much more time and money at Grace Records, confident that they will offer yet another dream-come-true! read more

If you want to find something on vinyl they probably have it here. I was surprised to not only see albums from the last 70 years but a few that appeared to be collectibles in plastic. Take an hour or two and get lost in the sounds my friends. Highly recommend! read more

I love grace records. They sell a lot of high quality bootlegs of hip hop albums to help collectors out. Lots of low prices and cool posters. They mostly have official pressings too for the perfectionist. They have Some CDs but I couldn't check them because they had a ladder over them. read more

A Modern, cool record shop. Nice selection of old and new vinyl records. A little pricey with no evident loyalty promotions but one of the only record stores in Gilbert. They have 2 record players in order to test out the used vinyl which is super helpful. Overall the place is super clean and organized, I will likely be returning. read more

An ok record store to shop at. They do sell bootleg records so just be aware of that (saw CLB by drake with some weird artwork on their suggestion wall). Came in to have a vinyl appraised ( The House is Burning by Isaiah Rashad) and some concert merch. Can't really complain about what I got for the shirts since I wore and washed them numerous times. The offer I got on my vinyl though... underwhelming to say the least. The product is a mint condition signed vinyl that took two years to ship to individuals that bought it and barely received it this past month. To have a sign at your door that says "We pay top dollar$$$" is a flat out lie. The day before I came here I went to Zia, I got offered $121. Here? Initially 80 something before a quick bump to $90. Understandably they need to make a profit but don't try to shortchange your customers cut especially with a product in a market that fluctuates through time. read more

Wow, a bonafide record store at San Tan Village mall! While relatively small, it was great to see how busy it was. There are two ways to shop at Grace- they have new vinyl that sells for retail price (maybe a little markup too) and then are are even more bins that house $3 records! What a steal! Most are in good to fair condition, it feels like they were trade-ins elsewhere maybe? I didn't get a chance to speak with an employee to ask about the concept as they were pretty busy. I wanted to grab a Grace Records t-shirt, maybe next time. You will find cheaper prices online but it's always nice to give $$ to the small business record stores as well. Absolutely love this place....with a very large selection of 3 dollar vinyl you cam bu im le up your collection pretty rapidly...they have also started carrying some higher priced records which is really nice when you want some of the more popular albums....(they also carry new records....but I absolutely live the vintage vinyl it's just my preference but none the less we can never ever leave this place with out at least 5 records....I also got my newest player from them and they were very helpful and patient with me as I came in multiple times to check them all out. read more
