We attend Monday sessions with our 5 year old son who truly can't get enough. He counts how many "sleeps" he has until his next gymnastics class. All of the coaches are wonderful but a quick shout specifically to Coach Alexa who is an absolute rockstar! My son is a handful but Coach Alexa is patient, attentive, kind, and encourages him to do the best he can. She motivates him and cheers him on throughout the lesson. The front desk staff completely ignored us. After asking multiple times for instructions, we were finally pointed toward a coach. The coach (who looked like a teenager and was completely disengaged) didn't bother to introduce herself or guide my son, despite there only being two other kids in the class. Instead of holding his hand or guiding him in this bright, overwhelming new environment, she just walked off. Naturally, my 3-year-old wandered toward the foam pit. The coach didn't even notice. A desk lady had to point it out to me, but then actually blocked the door, giving me excuses about a "big class" (there were two kids) while I was trying to get to my son. Another staff member (possibly a manager) then started making mean faces, getting angry at my toddler for wandering off and chased him down. After just three minutes of being there, they kicked us out. My son was so excited to play and ended up crying for hours because he was so confused and traumatized by their hostility and high expectations in a new environment. Do not bring your toddlers here. The staff lacks basic communication, empathy, and safety awareness and should not be teaching children.

WARNING FOR ANY TRIAL MEMBERS!!!…read more I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at My Gym Northridge. I signed up for a trial and canceled before the deadline. I explained my situation and believed I had unenrolled both of my children, or at least that was my understanding at the time. When I was later charged $253.30, I realized that we were still somehow enrolled. I have not attended any classes beyond the initial trial, as my work schedule as a full-time working mom does not align with their class times. When I called to address and escalate the issue, I spoke with Torie, the Director. Unfortunately, I found her response to be rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I was even willing to accept a partial refund, acknowledging there may have been a misunderstanding on my part, but she declined to offer any resolution. I encourage other parents to carefully review their enrollment status and policies before signing up. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering other options. ***additional comments: I would also like to add that after my initial complaint, I was contacted by the owner. Unfortunately, that conversation did not lead to any resolution. Instead, she supported the director's position and stated that I was being unreasonable, reiterating that no refund--partial or otherwise--could be issued. She emphasized that she runs a small business and could not accommodate my request. While I understand the challenges of running a business, situations like this--especially when they stem from common misunderstandings around enrollment and cancellation--should be handled with some level of flexibility and customer care. I explained that this experience has been stressful and disappointing, particularly given that it could have been resolved with a simple compromise, such as a partial refund. It is unfortunate, because I genuinely enjoyed the trial class and the activities offered. However, due to how this situation was handled, I will not be supporting this business.
