She came into the examining room and barely made "eye contact" with me (no pun intended). She was no nonsense and seemed to want to skip any "small talk" and simply take care of "business." She had no patience for my being uncomfortable and actually gave me an insult about not being able to keep my eyes open because of my "anxiety." I've never experienced a doctor who seemed so completely void of any semblance of good "bed side manners." The doctor seemed in a hurry to dismiss me and get to her next patients. The entire visit with her was approximately 10 minutes with her demonstrating the correct technique in applying eye drops.

Dr. Jeff, referred me to Coastal Vision, where I was scheduled to visit with Dr. Amir Marvasti. After going through all the preliminary exams, I finally met Dr. Marvasti. He walked in, shook my hand and proceeded with the exam. Questions were asked about my hobbies and general day to day activities. Also, he asked me if I wanted to see distance or close up, which we discussed in detail. No question was too much. After my exam, surgeries were schedule by Miriam Ochoa, who explained next steps in great detail. Both surgeries were fast and recovery was easy, except for the eye-drop regimen . The office staff was always professional and they explained every test they had to complete. Today, I returned for my final visit. Dr. Marvasti walked in, pleasant with a smile and asked how I was doing. Which first thing out of my mouth was "thank you!" I explained that I now see one moon, instead of two, and I can now drive with ease!!! I shed a few "happy tears"!. We complete the exam, and I gave him a big hug to show my appreciation. Dr. Marvasti was always professional and his mannerisms are one of comfort and put you at ease. If you are looking for a cataract surgery center, then Coastal VISION is where you need to be.

I was directed to again have a seat out in the reception room and wait to be called back in to see the doctor. I waited for nearly TWO HOURS after my scheduled appointment time. There were no updates on the delay nor information regarding anticipated wait time. There certainly were no apologies for the delay. After the 2 hours, all the reception staff members apparently left for lunch, as there was no one in sight from whom to seek information. More than a bit perturbed, I left. I walked out the door without ever seeing Dr. Jacobs, MD. As a dentist, I understand that treatment and procedures can sometimes require more time than anticipated. Prior to my appointment, Harvard Eye Associates repeatedly reminded me of my appointment time and of the importance of punctuality. "Arrive 15 minutes early," they requested -- presumably so the doctor will not have to wait for me. Apparently, that only applies to the doctor. Patients absolutely deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. At a minimum, their time has value, and it is remarkably unprofessional to ignore someone waiting --- for 2 hours.

The staff is super professional, yet, friendly. If, like me, you require multiple visits, you'll begin to feel like "family." Sure, that's all fine, but what about the "skill sets?" I was in for a cataract exam. I knew I had them in both eyes and subsequently scheduled surgery. The pre-surgery instructions were thorough and required 3 different sets of eye drops taken in different dosages throughout the day. The instruction sheets were perfectly laid out with highlighted dates and times -- and very easy to follow. The staff even made sure the prescribed drops were delivered to my house. The surgery was staggered. One eye followed by post-op check-up and then the second eye was scheduled. Perhaps not everyone gets the same results... but, my eyes both ended up "perfect" (20-20) the day after the 20-minute procedure. Totally amazing! Following both surgeries, Dr. Sinchai, personally called me to follow-up on how I was feeling and if there was any pain or irritation. There was not. The entire patient experience with Dr. Sinchai and staff was way beyond the normal "good practices" I've received from others in the medical community. If you need to see a "professional" ophthalmologist for your eyes I highly recommend Dr. Sinchai -- as well as his entire staff. Absolute BEST!

Symptoms as I relayed to her over the phone-- particles of sand streaming & waving on my left eye's vision. A persistent cloud reducing eye's vision. Sarah said she is to call me back for an appointment with Dr. Grace Kim, who just examined my eyes in early March, 2026. In fact I told Sarah I saw I owe $30 for that visit and if I can write a cheque and mail it over. Considering the urgency of my eye's condition, symptoms of which as explained to her on April 10, SHE NEVER CALLED BACK FOR THE APPOINTMENT she was to set for me. Medical Negligence! Going into a weekend and as a step to address my eye's condition before Monday opens, I was examined yesterday at Memorial Care Urgent Care nearby at Bellflower. Dr. Rosebrock who attended to my eye was of deep concern as symptoms were indicative of posterior vitreous detachment but he can't do much and advised to seek eye specialist 1st hour Monday without delay. I am channeling this complaint to you, Dr. Simjee because I couldn't find the name of your office manager to complain of your terrible Tustin staff. Patient Francis Wong
