I've been coming here for over 30 years, and it has never disappointed. This is, without a doubt, my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. My go-to favorites are the rolled tacos, the carne asada burrito, and the surf and turf burrito. They're all packed with flavor, generous in portion, and keep me coming back time and time again. And don't leave without trying the horchata--it's one of the best I've ever had! The quality and consistency over the years are what really set this place apart. It's rare to find a restaurant that can keep customers coming back for decades, but this place has done exactly that. Stopped buying for some carne asada chips. If you haven't been here before and use Google maps to get here, it brings you on the other side of the plaza. Carne asada chips - the meat was really flavorful and the chips weren't stale. I ordered the half size and I was really disappointed in the portion of meat that was served. Under all the guac and cheese it look like a decent amount but when you start eating at it, I realized there was not a lot of meat at all. The green salsa was on the watery side but still had decent flavor. Nonetheless, we probably would be back, because of the flavor of the food. Small taco shop located in Paradise Hills off Paradise valley Road in the same parking lot as KFC. Prices have increased since last year. Unfortunately they charge an additional .45 if you pay with your debit/ credit card. Boooooo!!! The taco shop was incredibly clean inside. All the table wiped down and very clean counters. Carne asada fries regular size $8.99. They also offer half sizes if you think the regular size is to generous. The carna asada fries and nachos are topped with meat, sour cream, cheese, pico and guacamole. We also ordered 5 beef rolled tacos $5.09. I requested they fry my rolled tacos soft not extra crunchy and they complied. Service was prompt. And all the food was made fresh to order. read more

This place turned into a sh*t hole. (Forgive me for my bad language...) My family and friends used to come here from the late 90's to early 2000s and 2010 era when the lovely family owned this place. I remember the mom working cash register, the dad cooking, and their son in the back playing with his toys. We supported this mom and pop taco shop as it was the best in the area back in the days. Fast forward to two months ago, a month ago and last night. WOW, has this place turned upside down. Three months ago I noticed the son who used to play with toys is now the cook/cashier. He told me they opened another taco shop, so kudos to the family. However, I noticed the quality went down big time. Food taste bland. The carne asada meat were harder than the potholes on Paradise Valley Road. The rolled tacos has no seasoning (beef flavor). There was a lady worker last night that told me I wasn't able to eat because they close at 8pm, and it was 7:40pm when I ordered at the cash register. I understand working late, and all day, but your income comes from buying customers. I understand if it was 7:50pm or 7:55pm, and I'll respect that your closing. But with 20 minutes left, I can finish my food in 10 mins max. More people came in around 7:45pm, but it seems the cashier lady just wanted to leave and go home. I took my food home, and when I opened the plastic bag I got the smallest burrito in San Diego. I ordered the carne asada burrito with three rolled tacos special that came to $11.83. Smallest carne asada burrito!! It should just be called tortilla burrito with a few meat and no taste rolled tacos. Place went downhill. I used to love supporting this mom and pop taco shop, but I need to stop. It's like opening a big Christmas gift box to find out you received a pair of gloves/beanie that you don't need. It's very disappointing!!! I hope the original owners read this comment and make changes ASAP. Otherwise, business will fail in the future. Here's a picture of the small burrito and no taste rolled tacos. The burrito may seem larger than it is but that's because it was ALL tortilla. Dried meat with minimal avocado to ensure the meat goes down the throat. Otherwise you'll choke or chip a tooth. Sorry but not sorry this is my last time here. I ate here a handful of times and it was tasty but I never felt well after. It is quick and the salsa (both colors) is pretty good. I would've just stopped going and been a done deal, but on my last visit there were 2 large cockroaches in the dining room and bold as hell! Hey fellow food adventurers, thanks for your votes. Whenever I go back home to visit there is one place I know to get authentic Mexican food to satisfy my Mexican food craving and that here. The chicken rolled tacos are the business. Tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and guacamole. And cooked to a nice golden crisp. I've been coming here for many years and they have never let me down. Another favorite of mine is their California burrito with everything (sour cream, guacamole, and beans) that's right I said beans. Don't knock it until you tried it. Sometimes California burritos can be dry other places but not here if you get the hook up. Tip: stop ordering quesadillas you can make that at home. Try something you never had before. If you do want a quesadilla have them deep fry it... oh man!! You not knowing. The horchatas are now available in a refrigerated dispenser best move ever! I visited this taco shop 10/14/18. I like this place. The food is always made to order. I'm a fan of the chicken flautas plate. Serving size is great and the service is always nice. This place is located in a strip mall with other food establishments and businesses so at times the lot can be very busy but manageable. read more

The best part were the perfectly fried sopes. They were the perfect cradle for the filling. They were crispy, but still had a nice chew to them. Although the sopes were terrific, what would of taken them over the top, would of been a nice dab of guacamole. The re-fried beans and rice were very good as well. Very fast service! I think we were looking at the menu longer than the time it took them to finish up our order. We got 2 flautas, 1 California Burrito and 1 Carne Asada Burrito. Everything was delicious. It was so filling, I barely finished mine. I had the Carne Asada Burrito. The meat was juicy and the guacamole was alright.
