Everything was fine until the truck pulled away with all our goods. After that, we were left in limbo waiting. The local company is completely dependent on the national organization which couldn't seem to find a truck. They went out of business. We were probably their last customer. read more

I'm in the process of moving our things from Texas to Wisconsin with Graebel. It's our second move with Graebel. They are more expensive than others but at least on the first time, it went well. This time they were very professional on the estimating and up front processes. Especially when it came to getting the money. I was getting responses within a matter of seconds from the coordinator and our account representative. Then after they had our money, things slowed down and it was impossible to get any information. No idea when the crews will arrive etc. Our things are somewhere in transit and we don't know when they will be delivered. I may change my review based on how things end up, but for now I would highly recommend you look elsewhere. I used Northstar moving for a previous long distance move (from Chicago to Texas), and they were much better. read more

My family is strongly disappointed with this company. First of all, the delivery time . Secondly, some furniture was damaged. And finally, they are still not able to send us refund for damage, taking in account we have moved on June 2016. So it is close to 1 year! Our experience with Graebel, Wausau has left a lot to be desired. We have had eight professional moves but have never been left in the lurch not knowing as to when and how things were going to occur. The packers arrived and did a great job, but that was the end of anything close to 'great' for this experience. On the Monday that our belongings were to be loaded into the moving van, two men arrived at the appointed time. The Van driver did not arrive until 11:30 that morning, with several reasons why he was late: he was waiting for the helpers at the terminal, he was reloading another shipment, there was a miscommunication. So the three men worked until 10:30 that night, until they RAN OUT OF ROOM on the truck for our shipment. Back to the Terminal for another truck and a return the next morning to finish. The evening that they were loading, they were getting tired and the china cabinet corner was broken off. The man packing that handed the piece to me, with "here, this broke off something." The driver saw this and told me to put it in the 'parts box' So, now to the delivery of the shipment. We were given the date of Monday, June 20 to expect our shipment. On that Sunday evening we were called and told that "they didn't know where our shipment was!" We did not get any communication until Tuesday evening that the shipment would be there on Wednesday. It arrived and the four men that unloaded the truck were polite and courteous, but had difficulty in understanding directions as to where things were to go. The driver never offered me the 'bingo sheet', so our items were not inventoried properly. The driver need to return to the terminal, an hour and a half away, for a flight, so they worked very quickly, boxes stacked high and in a haphazardly way. The driver did acknowledge the damage on the china cabinet, and we did get a settlement from the Corporation for that. We are disappointed that an $11,000.00 move cost us and additional $500.00 in added costs for hotels and airfares that were not necessary, had Graebel been forthcoming on the extent of time it would take to pack, load and deliver our shipment. In addition to these frustrations, has been the dodging of company personnel in answering our phone calls and emails. We will not be recommending or using this company in the future. read more

I would NEVER recommend Graebel for anything. I chose Graebel because I used to know the owner Bill Graebel who was the former CEO but had not realized that he sold the domestic business. Not only was I overcharged and quite plainly defrauded (pending legal action in cooperation with the attorney general's office for deceptive and illegal sales practices) but when I submitted my damage claims, they sent a furniture repair company to come in to evaluate the damage and fix what they could. They took my furniture and after four weeks of trying to get a hold of Graebel to move forward, (they made 17 attempts) they gave up and said I should come and get my furniture as Graebel will not respond to their numerous attempts at communication. This is the most consistent incompetency I have ever seen in any company. Go with anybody but Graebel. They overcharged, my stuff was delayed like others mentioned with no communication and when it arrived my most valuable pieces of furniture were all damaged and I can get no communication from them. read more

i must say Graebel did a great job packing and moving us. BUT, the big But, as far as damage claims, I am extremely disappointed. We moved and when we were being moved into our new house the movers gauged the hardwood floors on the 2nd floor. The leader of the team of movers took full responsibility for the damage. When claims were filed he even called to let them know that they in fact damaged the floor and it was in need of repair. Here comes the kicker- Unbeknown to me, because I was up to my eyeballs in the whole move, You only have 30 days to put a claim in for property damage. I find this unfair. Someone who has relocated 840 miles has a lot of adjusting to do, especially with elementary school children that are completely displaced from the move, not to mention the whole family in general. The act of settling in takes at least a year, if not more. I filed the claim in 52 days from the move and Graebel will not pay for floor to be repaired due to the timeline. I find their timeline to be completely unrealistic. For anyone who has moved, knows that chaos ensues and they should be a little more flexible on this timeline. I am not happy and now i will be out 600-700 dollars. I can file arbitration, but that costs $650. Really Graebel? I think if you were in my shoes, you would be as furious as me. read more
