Shaded places to eat out front - mid century fabulousness!
    Hope W.

While Graff Dairy has had several owners, the original opened in 1964. The original building has been expanded, but as you can see from the pictures it still has that fantastic retro feel complete with mid-century colors and old trucks parked out front. We were introduced to this ice cream place by relatives who live in the area. It's always a treat and one of the highlights when we make a pilgrimage to Graff Dairy during our visits! The homemade soft serve ice cream is delicious! There are regular flavors and specialty flavors that change weekly. You can find out their flavors of the week on their Facebook page. They offer sundaes, shakes and malts. They also offer other desserts and food, but I've only purchased ice cream when I've visited. Maybe it is a good thing that we can only visit during our visits. Otherwise, we may be gaining a little bit too much weight. The ice cream is that good! There are several tables where you can eat outside, including in the shade.

So easy to become addicted! I didn't know that soft serve could taste so good. I like how they have their weekly flavors and the specials to go with it.

Salted caramel with oreo glacier and almond toffee with Reese's peanut sauce

First trip for me to Colorado, specifically Grand Junction but for newbie tourist, we've come to Graff Dairy TWICE. Sunday night was crazy with drive thru line onto street. Hubby and I both got glaciers. I got fluffer nutter with oreo mix in. Hubby got peach with strawberry mix in. My glacier was DELICIOUS and container lickable good. Hubby not so happy with fruit. Day 2, got almond toffee glacier with Reeses sauce mix in. Good but last night was better. Hubby content with salted caramel with oreo mix in. Even got two pup cups for our furbabies. So yummy. Glad I live in Washington otherwise I would be so fat from Graff. Service is great. Attentive enough staff

Special of the day: Triple Berry Split: Blueberry soft serve, cherries, strawberries, raspberry, without the graham cracker topping.

Cute local place to check out with lots of custom options to choose from! Be patient as wait can be long. Friendly service: staff taking time to explain menu as it was our first time. Order at counter inside, give your name, and they will shout it out as orders are ready, pick up to the right of order window. Portions were good! Taste was about what is to be expected. It was worth a visit and I like supporting what this dairy does in helping out Teens at risk!

    Turtle Mountain Glacier

Graff takes me back to the days of when I was a teenager living in GJ looking for an inexpensive way to hang out with friends and grab a cone. These days when I visit the family, my niece requests to go several times so she can get her salted caramel brownie glacier. On this trip, I had the turtle glacier which was awesome. It was like having a candy bar in a cup with their smooth vanilla soft serve layered with caramel, chocolate, pecans and topped with whipped cream. I like the visits with family where it spans over two different months, so I can try the flavor of the month. My favorite so far has been their pistachio but their blackberry, pink lemonade and coffee have all been very good as well. You can't go wrong with Graff. Either walk up and order or drive through. They have cones, banana splits, shakes, malts, sundaes and glaciers to choose from plus more.

Was driving through Green River and found this adorable, refreshing soft-serve spot that's a big barn with a sprawling lawn and delicious chocolate and vanilla twist soft serve with rainbow sprinkles. An old fashioned car with twinkly lights. Big booth outdoor seating. 5 stars!!!!

Always a treat!! The best ice cream in the valley. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Reminds me of back when it was a dairy farm.

It simply focuses on making one really, really well. That's exactly what I found at Munchies Burger. I ordered the Bacon Guacamole Burger and my son ordered Smoky Mountain Burger, and both delivered in different ways. The Bacon Guacamole Burger was fresh, creamy, and packed with generous slices of avocado that balanced the smoky bacon perfectly. The Smoky Mountain Burger leaned into bold flavors with smoky bacon, melted cheese, and a hearty, satisfying bite that made it feel like classic comfort food done right. The patties were juicy, the buns held together nicely, and every ingredient tasted fresh. The sides deserve just as much credit. We tried both the classic crunchy fries and the sweet potato fries, and honestly, there wasn't a wrong choice. The regular fries had that crisp exterior with a fluffy center, exactly how great fries should be. The sweet potato fries were slightly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and naturally sweet without being overly greasy. We kept reaching across the table stealing each other's fries, which is always a good sign. The restaurant has that relaxed, old-school burger shack atmosphere where the focus is clearly on the food rather than flashy décor. Service was friendly, our order came out quickly, and everything arrived hot and fresh. If you're in Grand Junction and craving a burger that tastes like it was made by people who genuinely care about getting the basics right, Munchies Burger deserves a visit. Between the Bacon Guacamole Burger, the Smoky Mountain Burger, and two excellent styles of fries, we'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu. This place easily earns a spot on my list of local favorites.

My absolute go-to is their breve latte with an extra shot. It's fire. The half-and-half is always steamed to a perfect microfoam, never scorched, and that extra pull of espresso balances the whole rich profile beautifully. It's the kind of drink that makes you want to sit back and just enjoy a quiet morning. Truth be told, the quiet morning part is where things get a little complicated. The atmosphere leans pretty far to the left, which is completely fine. People are free to do their thing. But sometimes that overly expressive vibe spills over into my personal bubble when I just want to enjoy a cup of joe. On my most recent visit, I got stuck sitting near a couple, and the woman was literally reading aloud from a therapy book. She was lecturing her male companion on the exact appropriate way he needs to talk to her in their relationship. I'm all for healthy communication. Listening to a live couples counseling session at nine in the morning is not exactly pleasant, though. It's a funky place, and they definitely cater to a specific crowd, which fits their eclectic, community-driven aesthetic perfectly. If you're into that kind of high-energy sharing, you'll probably rate this place five stars without blinking. I'll definitely keep coming back because that breve latte is just too good to pass up. Walking in, I fell in love with the adorable, retro chic without being too pretentious vibe. The barista was so friendly that I felt like I made a new best friend upon arriving. And I was the first person there. I made a point to get there right after they opened because I was on a road trip, and I needed to get back on the road quickly. So I ordered a quick toast and a Cortado. The coffee came out quickly and was good, and then after 15-ish minutes, I was still waiting for the food, I thought maybe they forgot the order, so I went up to my new bestie and asked them about it, and apparently someone who was supposed to be there to make the food wasn't there yet. That was extremely frustrating. I wish they had warned me in advance that there might be a wait for the food because I would've opted not to order it, but at that point I was committed since going elsewhere would just tack on more time. 20 mins after that, I finally got my toast. Yes, 35 minutes to deliver a toasted piece of bread with some toppings and a small bed of lettuce with blueberries and seeds. At that point, I was bummed cause now my whole day was delayed. Fortunately, the toast was yum, and I know this place is beloved, so I think they just need to make sure they have someone reliable taking care of the food preparation on Sunday mornings. No more Saturday night party people!
