We were in town visiting, and I needed a smoothie place to start my mornings, and we found Grain and Berry. The first day, I tried the magic dragon. I thought that one was ok. The combo of almond milk and oj wasn't too great to me. The second day, I tried the jammin smoothie, which I did like! I also got the grain and berry parfait, which was piled high with sweet goodness, and the peanut butter/nutella combo makes everything 10x better! Staff when we came in each time were nice and helpful when we had questions. Everything is made fresh, so it does take a few minutes for them to make everything, especially depending on which food item you get. This is going to be a place we come back and try other options for any time we are in town. There were quite a few things that sounded good. We love the acai bowls here the service can sometimes be a touch slow if they only have one person working but if you're not in a rush it's no big deal. Went here for the first time and it was great! The staff were nice, but the ambiance wasn't. The tables were all dirty. I got the pitaya base, strawberries, mango, and blueberries (they had granola and toppings, but I decided not to get them, this time, at least). Almost 5 stars, but need to try it a few more times to get to that level. It is a bit expensive for granola or oatmeal with fruit. BUT it is soooo healthy! And you feel good after eating here. The place has plenty of tables...service is friendly....and parking is attainable somewhere in the strip center shopping complex. After you're done you can head over to Sprouts to do your healthy grocery shopping or HomeGoods. The product is fresh. I really like the granola base with spirulina. The later is soooooo powerful as shown on the advertising board at the back of the restaurant. Curious if you ate this every day how much stronger and healthier you might get. It's about 9$ a parfait, They are really delicious and nutritious, however the portion is too much. I wish they had a slightly smaller size. I can barely finish the parfait. It will definitely make you feel stuffed. I like they are willing to exchange fruit, I'm not a fan of kiwi or pineapple so I'll switch out for other fruit. Basic was not how I would explain this parfait. There was a perfect combination of yogurt to granola with lots of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas but the toppings-that's where it's at! The peanut butter, Nutella and coconut on top MADE this parfait! Next time, I'm gunna be that fat kid and get those toppings added to every delicious layer 2/27/20 we went back! Nothing special. So at $6.49, I don't think I'll order that again. I also ordered the Healthy Elvis Smoothie, and that was amazing! That was also $6.49 I believe, but the serving was huge. Their original prices were very high. Now, they are astronomical. Grain and Berry has now raise their prices between one $ and two dollars on everything!! My bowl, with three toppings, is now $13. Thanks for feeding my soul Grain and Berry. I had the "feed my soul açaí bowl" with fresh kiwi, pineapple, strawberry and granola. It was a hearty blend of all of the ingredients. The portion size was plentiful as this served as my breakfast for the day. After eating it, I was not overly full but definitely felt satisfied. The açaí itself was more thick than my previous experience at other açaí bowl cafes; but the bowl was pretty good. The service was unbelievably fast. By the time I sat down good my order was ready. The staff was helpful, the young lady helped me decide between the avocado toast and the bowl. They have a few avocado toast options (1 slice of bread) for $6.49 with an egg or other toppings. They also offer coffees, kale bowls, juices, and smoothies. Overall, my order was very delicious but a tad pricy, I paid a whopping $10.60. Waited over 45 minutes for a customer smoothie after watching the employee make five other smoothies, two of the smoothies were what my customer order. So much for making three batches at one time. They do one smoothie at a time no matter how busy they are. Not idea on what customer service is about. No greetings or how can I help you until five minutes of waiting. I was soooo looking forward to trying an açaí bowl for the first time and I had heard good things about Grain and Berry so when one opened down the street I was so excited..... all I can say is... meh. Honestly.... it would have made all the difference if the bananas had been ripe. Not sure how it is in other locations but this location needs to be aware of their product. Unripe bananas are not tasty... at least not to me. This franchise is not well run. At 12ish on a Sunday they were slammed. There were five or six employees behind the counter which you think would be adequate given there weren't that many dining in. It was clear they were inundated with to-go and Uber Eats orders which they seem to give preference over. We waited close to thirty minutes for three açaí bowls and one juice. And when the order was ready, one of the bowls was wrong. When I brought it to the attention of one of the workers he was apologetic but said he didn't make it. I wasn't placing blame and I wasn't rude about it so there was no need for him to absolve himself. It happens. I get it. And I understand they were slammed but we've been to the South Tampa and Carrollwood locations and they seem to have a much better handle on filling orders. Perhaps a field trip is in order for this location so they can see how to better run their business. I mean, I will admit the number of to-go orders was insane and that was a huge contributor to their back-up but come on this is not a new location and I'm sure to-go business has been a stronghold since the pandemic started. Also, with regard to the açaí bowls themselves, they were cheap with the peanut butter and Nutella on mh bowl compared to my prior experiences and I think it just depends on who prepares your bowl because one of the bowls in our order seemed to be loaded with Nutella. Ugh! I guess patience is a virtue but thirty minutes seems exorbitant to wait for food that doesn't require cooking or that much prep even. And when you look around the establishment there weren't that many folks waiting or eating. So still a lot to learn about running their to-go business while taking care of their dine-in customers. The service was normal there was no rush. I did expect their açaí bowls to be better tasting for $15.00 in my opinion. The açaí to fruit and granola ratio seems off too, wish there was more açaí not just a whole bunch of granola and what seemed to be canned mangos.
