I have been a customer for many years. Though I haven't had to use them very often. the work is always done promptly and completely and they work very clean. Recently I had a leak apparently from my kitchen faucet. I bought one at Home Depot what I thought was a high-quality well rated one they came and installed it and we found out it came broken, and the hot water wouldn't flow through. I did not know that they sell kitchen faucets or I would've purchased one from them to begin with. I did buy a new one and they are going to install it and because I've been a regular customer at absolutely no cost to me! You can't ask for more than that. I wanted to commend your plumber Pete who came to my house last night. I called because the toilet handle broke off and needed to be replaced. We have only one toilet in the house on the second floor and my mother has severe dementia. He asked that we send him some photos to his phone. He arrived and had to change change the handle, filler and flapper. He cleaned up very well and arrived promptly. I had some plumbing work done a few weeks ago. I didn't seem to have a water shutoff valve in the interior of my home. I called Gramman Plumbing & Heating Corp. because they came highly recommended by the custodian in the Library that I worked for. I called to make an appointment and they were able to come within 2 days. The plumber arrived and immediately located the shut off valve but it was located in a closet under the stairs. He said that it would be safer to install the shutoff pipe in a more accessible place. He was able to shutoff the water in the yard in no time and got to work immediately. He installed a new shutoff pipe and valve which took very little time. I was very impressed with the quality of work and the time that it took to complete the job. Everything was put back in place and the water was turned on. I was very satisfied with the plumbers work and I highly recommend this company. They are very good plumbers. They arrive with mats, special shoes upon entering the home and now, during Covid, they are masked. Just called them and can indeed confirm: it's $150 just for the technician to come over your house and look at the boiler. The technician will then say what's needed to repair/service the boiler and, if you agree with his plan, the $150 fee is then waived. Sounds like a bad business model to me, wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

REDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. Pros: Neat and courteous. Job was well done. Cons: BEWARE OF THE "DISCOUNT PLAN" Prices a jacked up through the roof and then they offer you a discount. BAIT AND SWITCH!! Without the discount, My bill would have been $1,225.00 for one hour job. Parts (Amazon) were $62.00. You do the math. The bill was still almost $900 with the new customer discount. There is no hourly rate. They just WING THE FEE when they come to your house. BEWARE it is $149 for non-refundable estimate even if you realize the fees are insane. People are catching on..now I know why they were available so quickly. read more

This company has twice given me good service. I called them for a leaking hot water heater and they promptly arrived and replaced it. I had agreed to sign up on their platinum maintenance plan, to get priority service and discounts on work done. Joe was the technician who installed the heater. The second time, during boiler service a part needed to be replaced. Tommy the technician, alerted me to the fact that the heating system would not work and I agreed to the work. Then he meticulously checked all the radiators and bled them for water since air had now gone into the system. He had to remove some jammed tight radiators over carpets, with difficulty and unclog radiator vents. He ensured that the system was fully operational and spent a good deal of time so that there would not be any problems in the future. I was very satisfied with his thoroughness, professionalism and politeness. I would highly recommend using Gramman Plumbing and Heating. read more

If you live in Nassau County, Gramman is the way to go! Some may bristle at price, but with the Platinum Plan, they beat Home Depot! They are reliable, professional and mindful of any issues or concerns, especially good for me with so many allergies. I have used them for small jobs like a radiator leak to major things like a swap out of all the galvanized pipes in the basement. Grammar Pluming fixed a botched job from a previous plumber for our heated driveway. After spending a lot of money, the system didn't work! After Hurricane Sandy, I vowed never again would we suffer through 13+ days without power. Acting as my own GC, I ordered a 10kw generator, and called Gramman. They gave me a fair estimate for hookup and we said let's go. Their people were always on time, always considerate of our home and floors, and personable. They coordinated the Town Inspector's visit, got the necessary permit, and did more work than originally expected without any extra charges. We've used Gramman twice for work in our house and each time have been very impressed. The first time we called them, we had a hot water circulator pump that had burned out. They came by within 15 minutes of calling, and before coming out, were very up front about the diagnostic fee (which they charge if they don't do any follow-up work, but credited back to us when we had them do the repair work). Long story short, the previous owner had tried to do the work on the cheap using one pump and it was not sized correctly. Gramman put all new circulator pumps in, and Bobby came out twice during the day to make sure everything was being performed up to their standard for workmanship. The second time was to install a gas fireplace in our house. Not only did Bobby come out personally to estimate the work, but he also has helped us through the entire permitting process, was able to recommend a reasonably priced architect for us (since our town is being "difficult"), and even dropped off the permit application himself. The work is always done on time, for the amount that's quoted, and they are up front with regards to the service plans. If you're having work done and signing up for a service plan will make the whole project less expensive, they write that all up for you. They let you change plans when they come up for renewal without charging the new plan fee, and are just very upfront and honest about things. Bobby and the team from the office are all great to deal with, and we've had nothing but good experiences. read more

This company has hidden Service Call Charge of $149 + tax = $161.85. They will not tell you ahead of time over the phone when you make appointment or inquire about the price estimates. They will tell you wait for the repair man show up and talk about the pricing details. When repair man shows up, selling the membership is top priority, when all things fail, they will then charge you with the hidden Service Call Charge. read more

Their quote and others were similar but I chose them because they took the time to really go over my options, as I was involved in the oil service industry and know the business. They were professional, showed up exactly when they said they would and did an incredibly neat job - and they minimized downtime doing the job mid-winter. I have used the Gramman Team for many a job over the years and have been completely satisfied with their professional and clean service, but never more impressed then what they did for me recently. I had a very unusual problem that several experts in the field could not be of service. I had a specially fabricated marine part that slowly eroded from electrolysis springing a leak and almost sinking my boat. When at the end of my options, I realized it was something a plumber may be able recreate for me. These Guys are CRAZY, Have used them i the past with Good result's i don't know what has happened to there shop, But they are out of there minds? They came over to to service my boiler for which i have used them in the past. The driver /salesman looked at my boiler and said...its old..? I said i know its OLD ..But it works fine ? He said come upstairs and we can do some paperwork? OK...It will cost you 430.00 for our Platinum Plan..? Whats That..? Heater inspection ..? What does that mean.? We clean it and..check pressure..? OK..That sounds high to clean the outside of the boiler.? You can't clean the inside.? .NO..i'm not interested in the Platinum Plan, OK how about the GOLD Plan..? That's 155.00 for what..? Nothing really we just put your name ahead of everyone else who calls for Help..? Because your a GOLD member...? Wait here comes the kicker thanks Just, service my boiler Please and we will see how much it comes to..? That will cost you 680.00 now to do that (WHAT)..??? for what..? we clean it and service it..? Just had these guys come over to quote replacing a leaking shower valve. They are very very expensive. Quoted me $500 to replace the valve and said that if it is difficult to remove the will have to replace the entire manifold behind the wall for $1300. And of course my shower had a difficult to remove valve. They wouldn't quote time and material, just a flat fee and on top of it had the nerve to try and sell me a maintenance contract that had no maintenance items covered. Bottom line I ended up paying the guy his $150 visit fee (plus tax of course), went to home depot and bought a new valve for $14.95 plus another $5.00 for a valve wrench. Do yourself a favor, unless you have money to burn don't call these guys. read more

Absurdly overpriced-at least for smaller/residential work. I called them for very simplistic work (cap gas line and repair leaky dishwasher hose). The rather unexperienced plumber sat there like he was writting a disertation. Then, after ~15 minutes, he gave me the quote of $1,300! Ha! Then he had the nerve to ask for an 'estimate fee'. They should be ashamed of themselves--going around quoting 4 times the market rate so they can steal that $150 from hard working folks. I got another licensed plumber that did an exceptional job for $200! For everything. read more

A neighbor recommended Gramman for the two jobs I needed done at my mother's house. Ro in the office was great to deal with on the phone and they were helpful with scheduling a time. Like a lot of services now, they have a $149.00 charge for the visit and estimate, which they waive if you elect to do the repair. The plumber arrived exactly when they said he would, which I appreciated. He looked at both jobs and then wrote up their estimate. Job # 1 - exterior hose bib/spigot replacement. The estimate was $427.26 (after their 20% "new customer discount" and after I elected to simplify the repair by just having a 10 dollar spigot installed instead of the existing extension pipe -spigot-drain combo). It was a lot higher than I expected, but having already lost a day's pay and $149.00 for the estimate, I couldn't see a choice other than authorizing it and being done. They took care of this one in under 25 minutes. Looks good. Job #2 - leaking shower faucet. The plumber removed the faucet knob and assessed that the Moen cartridge would need to be replaced. The estimate for this fix would be $244.49, which included a calculated "second job" discount. It seemed about right. So he starts working on this but is unable to remove the old cartridge, which has become fused. "This is bad", he says, and heads back to the truck to recalculate his estimate. How bad? "We're going to have to either cut through the bathroom tile or through the wall in the adjacent room to remove the entire shower body and replace. I advise we go through the living room wall sheetrock before we get into tile work" The new estimate - $1,213.68 (and a hole which I'm responsible for repairing). Still hurting from what I agreed to pay for the hose spigot, and starting to feel like I've made a huge mistake, I tell them I'll need to think about it. A friend, who just happened to do the same repair in his shower 2 weeks ago, says he'll take a look at it for me. After telling me that I got overcharged on the hose, he works on the shower for a while, pulls the fused cartridge using a tap and die and bolt and replaces it with the $20 new Moen cartridge. Shower is fixed, no tile was cut, living room wall is intact. I owe him big time. I'm not a plumber. I wish I was. Should that hose bib have cost $427 bucks? For what it's worth, Angie's list will tell you it's a $300 job on the very high end. I can tell you it was 25 minutes of labor and a ten dollar part, but it's Nassau County and people need to make a living, I guess. I'm just so glad that I got a second opinion about that leaky faucet. read more

Needed a plumber with a local village license for the co-op my son lives in, so my plumber gave me their name & number. He told me they were very good but I would pay a premium for their service. The girls in the office were very courteous and got the paperwork necessary for our management office then scheduled an appointment for the next day. They were on time and explained the options available to my son and did the work to repair the problem. After getting 3 bids from plumbing companies we chose Gramman Plumbing to install our Burnham Gas Boiler in November 2015. We are very pleased with their work! Our previous Burnham boiler, installed by a different company in 2005 (one that was recommended) was done incorrectly and completely failed. No, Gramman was not the cheapest nor the most expensive - BUT, you do get what you pay for. NEITHER of the other competitive bids included installing the air induction by a licensed electrician (required by Nassau County) and DID NOT include obtaining a permit, inspection & approval for a C.O. from the Town of North Hempstead. Gramman took care of everything and was on site during the inspection. The plumbers' work is professional, neat & clean and after a year and a 1/2 our boiler still purrs like a kitten. Our pipes no longer knock and we barely know it's on. The office staff couldn't be nicer and they're a pleasure to deal with. We have hired Gramman for subsequent jobs and would definitely use them in the future. Their work is spot on. P.S. and yes, we do have the service plan, which is nominal compared to a total replacement. read more
