Best donuts I've ever had!! The cinnamon sprinkles donut tastes like an elephant ear but softer and better. The tiramisu is my second favorite! The coffee flavor in the frosting is a nice touch and really compliments the donut. We also tried the Back in My Day, Goodness Gracious, Berry Good, and Snickerdoodle. All were delicious!!! The berry glaze tastes like fresh jam. The iced latte was good too, maybe a 7.5/10. We came back on our way out of town to get some to take home and Ainsley helped us out big time!! She made some fresh for us so we had enough to share with our family members at home! Loved the vibe of this coffee shop too, really bright and clean. The doughnuts here were excellent. Flaky and crunchy on the outside, soft within. My favorite was the Whiskey Business, followed by Cinnamon Sprinkle. Meanwhile, my shaken espresso was just ok. Taken together, four stars. read more

Stopped in Gramps while on a day long road trip through southern Indiana and across the Ohio river to Owensboro. Just happened to drive by Gramps and decided to try their donuts. Stop in and make your own opinion. But it is well worth it. My favorite part of the visit was..... where they have a sign and it says surprise me....: it is the best since I could not make my mind up, I had them surprise me with a drink. Definitely not like a Dunkin or most other donut shops. Most donut shops have cake and raised, circles and bars and rolls, and so on--so, different doughs and different shapes as well as different toppings. But here at Gramps there's one basic donut, doughy but in layers--like a cronut, if you know what I mean--and you choose between a bunch of different toppings. Oh man. I tried a chocolate, a cinnamon sprinkle, and a creme brulee. The first two were great but the creme brulee was fantastic. When I ordered it they picked up a blowtorch and brulee'd it right there, leaving shiny crunchy caramelized bits of the frosting on top. Wow, it was so delicious! Nice people, too. Try it! read more

A solidly good espresso pull. Tried a donut on this visit and I have to admit it was Christmas a week early. Absolutely the best donut-ish item I've had in years. Really enjoyed everything about Gramps Coffee and Donuts! We stayed at a hotel nearby and I figured this could be a quick stop before we hit the road. Very convenient parking with spots in front and a lot. We came around 9am on a Sunday and I was surprised it wasn't busy. We were greeted by Gramps himself as we made our way to the counter. I must say, I'm not normally a cronut fan but these were SO GOOD. We ordered a half dozen (2 strawberry, 2 chocolate, 1 cinnamon, 1 maple). The chocolate was my favorite while the cinnamon was my husbands, but we both agreed the strawberry was a very close second. We're bummed we live 3.5 hrs away! We both ordered the cold brew, I wasn't a big fan of the drink but admittedly I'm a picky coffee drinker. 10/10 recommend! read more

Hands down the best donut I've had in years, if not in my entire life! Gramps is a small, cute donut shop with great decor. On my visit they had eight offerings, all with cute names. We ordered the Back in My Day (glazed) and Goodness Gracious (chocolate covered). We also got an iced vanilla latte and regular drip coffee. The line when we got there was about 10 people deep and all but one table was taken. The line moved quickly and the counter staff was incredibly friendly. We got our donuts and drinks to go. When we got in the car, my daughter opened the box and the smell was incredible! I couldn't wait to try my donut. The chocolate icing was creamy. It complimented the crisp exterior of the donut. The texture of the actual donut was chewy, but somehow seemed to melt in my mouth. I also had a bite of my daughter's Back in My Day. The glaze was heavy enough that there was a little pool of it. That being said, it wasn't so sweet that your teeth hurt--it was perfect. Even better, the coffee was outstanding. The donuts were so good that I told the people I was traveling with about them and they stopped by as well. We even tried to make a second visit that day to take some home, but Gramps closes at noon. I will go so far as to say if I'm traveling on Interstate 64 E again, I'll detour to Owensboro for a Gramps' donut. read more
