Lunch here was pretty good. We got box lunches. The club sandwich was massive. It also came with chips and a cookie and the cookie was also massive but good. The potato soup was seasoned well even though it had gotten cold. Also I don't think it was stirred up well because I had huge chunks of cream cheese which were not edible. The pasta salad was cooked well but a little sweet for my taste. In general probably pasta salad or soup in a box lunches but don't need both. read more

I had the great opportunity to feast on food from The Cottage three times during a recent trip to Owensboro. First, I picked up one of their warm breakfast sandwiches at the farmers market in town. It was fresh and hit the spot. Next, they catered a lunch I had. The presentation was delightful, and I loved the pasta salad and the broccoli salad. Finally, I stopped on their absolutely adorable brick and mortar to find AMAZING service. I had their burger, and it was so very flavorful and filling. Everyone was so friendly, and they honestly had a bit of everything. I wanted to bring home some dips from their cooler, but I didn't have a cooler. I came out to try The Cottage during Burger Week in Owensboro. The place is adequately named as it is a cottage out in the middle of a field. The driveway looks like one that belongs to a residence. The Cottage looks like a great place for brunch, coffee, or a sweet treat. But today, I was trying the Owensburger. The burger came with a special sauce, 2 different types of cheeses, pickles, candied bacon, and caramelized onions. The bun was big and fluffy which added to the burger's tastiness. This sucker came out fast too and it was cooked medium. That's the way I like it. The Owensboro was a great choice for one of my two burgers to try for burger week! I ordered spicy fried pickles with my burger. I know they were fried but they were still dripping with grease. The batter on the pickles did have a good taste to them. I did not like the ranch with the pickles though. The ranch was more sharp vinegary tasting than the smooth creamy type. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet and had a little extra umph to it. I sure hope The Cottage keeps the Owensburger on the menu because it is worthy of it. read more

I enjoyed breakfast here with a number of friends this morning and it was AMAZING!! I had a latte with the biscuit and sausage gravy and was blown away! They have lots of coffee options and the biscuits are absolutely to die for! Their prices were incredibly reasonable, the staff were all attentive and personable. They even have lots of unique canned goods and jams, frozen meals and meats, ready to serve soups, salads and dips that you can carry out and take home. Definitely a place to go check out! read more

The muffins were pretty good. I got a assortment of them and a cinnamon coffee. Which is the first I've had in ever. It's definitely different from other flavors I've tried from other coffee shops. The service was good and the ambiance is great! I've never seen a coffee shop in the middle of a crop field before! Definitely worth a stop. read more

A very friendly place! Also delicious! The owner helped us at the counter, and helped with suggestions and understanding the menu. I had the Turkey Reuben and had the lavender honey with chai instead of coffee; she recommended the substitution and I was delightfully pleased. We also got sunshine cookies for the table and they were also VERY delicious. We did have to eat inside b/c the flies were 'attacking us' as we had our food brought to us, but it was lovely inside too. This place is very quaint and a good find. read more

There were photo opps, games, and shaded areas to hang out. The staff were very helpful and shared recommendations. Plus, they have gluten free options, which can be difficult to find.
