We wanted to check out skiing in CO as a family of four. We've gone skiing 3 times (except my husband who has gone 4 times). Granby Ranch has a nice mix of greens, blues and blacks. We skied the greens and blues over and over on the west mountain. We skied a blue on the east mountain with lots of blacks as well. Jackpot was our favorite. Followed by home again because of the awesome views. There are obstacle courses and terrain parks which are a lot of fun for adults and kids. This is a family friendly location. It really was nice. There's a cafe and restaurant as well in Base Camp one. Plus the grocery store is super close by. We rented a 2 BR, 2 BA condo in the building. It was perfect to lock our stuff up on the 1st floor then gear up and immediately head out to the slopes.

Best skiing of my life. It was not busy at all we rented skiis at the place and I thought it was finna be a hassle but it was so convenient and fast. The park is a little smaller, comparable to monarch, but has some of the funnest runs ever. GO ON EASY MONEY you will not regret going here.

My dad, cousin, and I came into the new restaurant to eat after skiing in the morning. We ordered two hot chocolates and a coke. The hot chocolate was one of the best I have ever had. We then ordered a burger and pizza to share. The burger was a quality one and what my dad preferred. My cousin and I loved the Pizza. It wasn't the cheapest meals but a great improvement over what they had before and in my opinion worth the money.

Granby Ranch was recommended to us by our hotel in the area. We were looking for snowboard lessons for our kids that are just learning to snowboard. Granby Ranch was a bit more reasonably priced than nearby Winter Park AND allowed us to book same day lessons. Other ski resorts we checked all required 48 hour advanced reservations. The snowboard lessons were about 2 1/2 hours. The price did not include a lift ticket or rentals. In the end, we ended up paying about $200 per kid. One thing I didn't love was how they moved kids groups around after parents left. Our three kids were in one group, with one other kid close to their age and skill level. When we returned my 15 year old was on a tiny hill with 5 year olds. Needless to say she was NOT happy and neither were we. She didn't even need the lift ticket for what they had her doing. If you're in this area and haven't made plans, this may be the place for you. Personally, I wouldn't return. If you're anything more than just starting out you will be bored quickly here.

We stopped one evening for night skiing on a recent trip to Winter Park. It was SUPER COLD (-8), but we had a great time making as many laps as we could stand down the open terrain. Night skiing is $10 for kids and $20 for adults! The quad lift looked to be in good shape and the run was pretty nice. I would come back again and check out more of their runs during regular hours if the opportunity presented itself. When we were done, we came inside and ate dinner. Service and the food were both good. We came away impressed overall with their facilities and their staff. Granby seems to be a pretty well run outfit.

Don't miss a summer hike to beautiful Vista Ridge

Excellent family ski resort. Hands down a better value and experience than Winter Park if your skiing with kids or a group with various abilities. Only one Base Camp so easy to keep track of the kids and meet up with everyone in your ski party. Schedule lessons in advance and know ahead that this ski school teaches "French Fry" style and not "pizza pie". A hard habit to break but will definitely increase their ski level quicker and make the transition to more expert runs easier. I appreciate the older, experienced, local instructors here. Rent skis at Base Camp or at the Breeze Ski Rental at the Inn at Silver Creek. Make sure to visit in the summer for concerts, festivals, rodeos, hiking, mountain biking, golf and fly fishing. Plus beautiful COLORADO views.

We loved it. From beginners to experts, they have nice slopes. Not as big as Copper Mountain or Breckenridge but that was perfect for us. A family vacation with three generations. We could ski right to our condo and ski right out and down to the lifts. The Ski Lodge has nice seating outside with chairs out in the snow and on the patio. The patio has an outdoor firepit. The are no steps from the slopes to the patio or to the clubhouse. They have three places to eat. One on each floor of the lodge. The prices are a little high. The food can be good but we found a problem with them serving old, not fresh food.

Great little ski area. Nothing super fancy but it has everything you need to enjoy a day on the slopes.

    Early in the morning. :)

I enjoy my time here as everything is quickly in and out to getting things done. If you rent a bike from them you get about a 50% discount on the lift ticket. It's awesome and they also updated their gaundillas to take the bike up. This place is great for a full day of fun!

Are you tired of biking uphill but enjoy the thrill of downhill?…read moreIf so, then located in Winter Park, Colorado, Trestle Bike Park is just for you.It is a lift-served bike park.I believe I am qualified to write a review because I have been mountain biking for several years, and I have done similar lift-served bike parks at other places. I heard about Trestle from many friends and how great it was. My first reason for recommendation is that it offers a lot of terrain; nearby bike park Granby Ranch only has 24 trails and one lift, while Trestle offers 63 trails and 3 lifts. My second reason is convenience to Denver; it's only one hour and thirty-two minutes away. Making it perfect for day trips, another benefit is that it is well before Idaho Springs (a town notorious for traffic). My final reason for recommending this experience is its superiority to the other popular bike park, Breckenridge. From my experience, I found it to be crowded due to the excessive amount of tourists and other mountain activities. Another critical issue with Breckenridge is that the lifts all start at the base, meaning that you are forced to battle the crowds at the base every time you wish to go up. As Trestle has two lifts on the mountain. I would recommend this experience to a novice biker with experience mountain biking beforehand. Due to the amount of advance trails. Some things to know are that the opening dates can vary for the season. The location is Winter Park resort. The ticket price is $70 USD. Season passes are offered. You should buy one if you are going for more than one week.I would not go on a holiday weekend due to heavy I-70 traffic.

My impressions of this park are probably impacted by the fact that they desperately need snow. (As…read moremost ski resorts out here do). However other factors also influenced my impression. They need better access to maps, both the posted sign size and paper maps. For example, a trail map at bottom of each lift and at top of lift would be good too esp when more than 1 lift ends at same location. And why not put a map of ski village buildings on the trail map to help with orientation. I wish they would have groomed the trails more so in the morning so snow would have been fresher. It just seemed to make it more icy by grooming at night. Since many trails were closed people were condensed into those trails that were open. Squeezing more people into a smaller area will course make lift lines crowded but also puts more traffic on the slopes. The lift lines were absolutely ridiculous on the weekend. I didn't pay that much for lift ticket to repeatedly stand in lift line for 20 minutes. Also it would have been nice to have an increase in ski patrol monitoring some of the trails to discourage the aggressive behavior including the boarder who purposely ran into me and knocked me down. (When they laugh and keep going you know it was on purpose) We purchased lift tickets months ago so I don't remember the details of the process except that it wasn't straightforward. I ordered lift tickets for both myself and my husband so assuming I did the same thing each time but no he got a pass with early up access and I didn't. Weird. Okay here are some positives: I do like the availability of restrooms throughout the resort including up on some slopes. That is very nice. I appreciated sharing the slopes with amputees and individuals using wheelchairs. It is nice to see the inclusivity. I also really enjoyed going up to Sunspot lodge in the evening for sunset. That was very fun.
