Thought about getting it serviced, through that research, discovered the Kenmore purchased at Sears was not worth the investment. New washer it is. DO NOT BUY A DISHWASHER FROM GRAND! I had a dishwasher installed on June 23rd. I was told that everything went well with the installation. The dishwasher lost power by July 9th. I put in a request, a service person from Bodewell came out on July 20th. Replaced the motherboard & said I should be all good. The dishwasher lost power again by July 24th. Again, I put in a request. The same service technician from Bodewell came out on August 3rd. A new motherboard was installed, he said that he had replaced boards once on dishwashers but not twice. He said that everything was installed correctly. By August 6th I had water in the bottom of my cabinet, which I didn't attribute to the dishwasher. I clean that up & thought that was from my sink pipe....it was NOT. My dishwasher again loses power, I tell GE I need a new dishwasher. They tell me until the servicer says it can't be fixed then repairs continue. Today, September 2nd, a new repair person from Unique came to assess the situation. He finds that against plumbing code the water gap pipe was not set up properly. That explains the water issue. The wiring under the dishwasher was not connected tightly which was the reason for the outages. Because I didn't know what to look for & was told everything was fine with installation I signed off. We have purchased 3 appliances from Grand Appliance. We had positive experiences until we purchased our Speed Queen washer. We were looking for a dependable washer and our salesman recommended this brand so we spent the extra money. The first washer worked 3 days before it stopped spinning water. They replaced it and 8 months later I have the same problem. It has a warranty so when we called for a repair they couldn't fit us in until 15 days after the call. That is ridiculous. We called our salesman and he said he would work on it. We have heard nothing back. Very frustrating for a family that needs a washer. Unhappy with the washer that was supposed to be top of the line. They rob you if you don't like the items you get once in your house. They don't have everything on the sales floor so if you want something they don't have and you don't like it - it will be a whopping 50% restocking fee because it is special order. I get a certain restock fee, but you know darn well they will sell it plus you paid for half of it. They don't quote correctly on rebates (happened to more than just me). So do yourself a favor and buy it from a big box store with better return policy. It isn't like Grand Appliance does warranty repairs, so don't think you are getting a perk there. read more

Our first impression was that this company and its staff had their act together, that is until we made the purchase, then that situation turned into MissingInAction. Each time you call no one ever answers the phone after a slow repetitive AI phone service to leave a message that is never returned. Every time we were in the store the phone never rang and all the employees working were doing nothing but playing on their computers while voicemail intentionally takes calls. You can't even get them to acknowledge you once you've made a purchase in the store, they stare at you like "What a' you want", then when they do communicate with you they are consenting and short and rude like your disturbing them from their computer task (probably playing solitary). We have gotten many appliances from here before and have had great service and were always super helpful. This last time the sales person was semi short and could tell just wanted the day done. We didn't think much of it at the time but looking back this set a bad tone for the rest of the time dealing with Grand this last time for our dish washer. About two weeks before our delivery we got a call asking if we had a place to store the dish washer for an early delivery as they only had so many left in stock and we may not get our dishwasher as others were able to get theirs and we might not have one left. As we have no place to store an extra dishwasher as we have no basement and they refused to store in the garage, the salesperson said they cannot guarantee we would have it the day expected. They then instantly hung up on me not giving any other options. We come to the day before our delivery with a call saying they no longer have it in stock and cannot have it delivered anymore and never even gave us an estimated delivery that would happen. By this we are then understanding they are selling more products then they actually have in stock to people when they tell them it is in stock to start. My wife got them to get a refund and once called me for the refund got our card number and said within a certain amount of days it will be refunded and hung up without any other thing said. We no longer will suggest or shop here after this experience. Ended up at Best Buy of all places for a better deal and way friendlier service. read more

My son purchased a refrigerator from them 8 months ago. It stopped working properly 2 weeks ago. They have the extended warranty and have had appointments to fix/replace the appliance 6 times with no-show. They did show up once with a replacement freezer which was no help since it is a refrigerator that is not working. Terrible service, the worst. This is a horrible organization! They do not answer their phone, return their calls, or follow through on their promises! The sales staff were nice and friendly in-store, but that was just the beginning. Their service people who installed my fridge (subcontractors) scratched my floor and dinged my wall. The team that installed my dishwasher left a huge puddle on the floor of my basement... no bucket? I told them they left a puddle on the floor, and the guy says, "yeah." The worst part was, the dishwasher had no handle! We called and called, both Grand Appliance and Whirlpool. It was a race to the bottom to see who could provide the worst possible customer service. It took two months, but we finally did receive the handle... three of them, in fact. (at least now we have spares). The days of good service and pride in what you do are long past us. I guess I'm going to air my dirty laundry in public here on YELP. Helpful, casual sales crew here in a nice bright clean showroom, with some generally good prices. The sale prices are very competitive, and the delivery installation prices are the best in the area. We did quite a lot of comparison shopping while losing $20-40 a week at laundromats, and I am confident I could not have gotten my new washing machine cheaper anywhere else. It's a front loading Frigidaire with options like a steam setting, I'm pretty happy. From payment to delivery was only a day and a half, removal of the nonfunctional old washer was a piddly fee that saved me significant back pain. For some reason they can also set your children up with dance lessons too, which has got to be the most unusual extra service I've ever seen at an appliance store. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. We bought a fridge at the very beginning of March. The sales person assured us that the one we selected was fully in stock. When it was delivered it was missing all of it panels. The delivery people felt terrible. While on the phone before taking the fridge I was promised that they would be out in the next couple of days to deliver and install the panels. No word from them a week later. We called and they shared that it would be a couple of weeks. A few weeks later no call or word. Call again and now it is a month out. Over another month later still no word. Call them for am update as they do NOT call you when this is on them. Good luck on them answering a call or returning a message. They also don't respond to emails. It will now be at least 5 months later with a fridge that looks like crap that I bought brand new. This complaint is on the customer service in either getting us the panels or them keeping us updated. read more
