I was so excited to stay here, and I was not disappointed. This hotel is very well-maintained. Everywhere I went, I saw maintenance people constantly cleaning and working. I loved the 8 AM yoga classes on the roof. I loved the jacuzzi and pool on the roof. I really loved the proximity of the beach to the hotel. When you get to the beach, a staff member is ready to find beach chairs for you, set up the umbrella and lay out the beach towels. The beach chairs are super comfortable! Guests receive free welcome drinks, and there is fruit and fruited water throughout the hotel. This was our first time to Miami Beach, and I was pleasantly surprised to find how clean and clear the blue green water was. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel on their outdoor patio leading to the beach. We also enjoyed the in/room bslcony with a view of the city from the 11th floor. We got to see a beautiful sunset from the roof. We stayed late on the day of checkout, and they provided us with a complimentary room to shower and change in. It was an absolutely wonderful stay and the service was great. My only complaint has to do with their reservations staff, and hence I deducted a star from the rating. I had originally booked the reservation for four nights. When I called to modify the reservation and change it to two nights I was told that I would have to pay current rates which was higher than the rate I booked at time of the reservation. However the reservation staff spoke to a manager and agreed to keep the original rate. They promised an email or call to confirm. After two days I did get an email but it did not specify the room rate. So I called back and I was told that the rate was at a higher cost than my original rate. I told him that this was not what we agreed to. And they promised to have someone call back. I also emailed them. Similarly I got an answer that the rate was higher. After multiple follow up calls and emails, I finally requested to speak to a manager. The person I spoke to was able to answer my questions she confirmed my rate. Then I still kept getting emails saying that the rate I would get was changing. So their reservation system needs a serious overhaul. I got so frustrated that I almost canceled the reservation. Needless to say I am glad that I didn't cancel, however the reservation staff caused me much unnecessary time and stress. Overall great Experience. Surfside is such a nice Place for a vacation, much more quite and only few minutes away to South Beach. We booked the Hotel only for one night, but enjoyed every minute of our stay. Starting with an amazing sunset from our room, the View from the rooftop bar (thanks to Kel for a great evening) and the fabulous Beach Front was also worth the stay. Due to the gap between checkout and departure of the flight we decided to book a hospitality room to get dressed for the Airport. So we could enjoy the Morning at the beach and lunch in the Hotel Restaurant. George our waiter was an experience at itself! Hotel was nice, but a lot of little things add up to a BIG NO. Gonna break this one down. 1. 8am fire alarm testing was fun, not ideal on your vacation. I understand it has to be done, but common sense is to have fireman come in the afternoon when most people are not sleeping. 2. I booked a last minute spa appt. for late afternoon. Hubs told me after he already made dinner reservations, so I had to cancel the appt. I was informed when I called to cancel I was within the 24-hour cancel policy and it's non refundable Hotel did not advise me when I booked of a cancel policy and that I was already within it (BIG NO NO!) Hotel said I cud reschedule but only if I do so by COB. I told hotel I'm not avail to set this up now, I'll call back. They continued to call me 2 additional times that night to strong arm me. 3. Hotel does not clean rooms after 12. Or, Staff doesn't know this. I called housekeeping when they didn't come. They sent woman up to clean it who refused and said too late. My DND was on door till noon, big deal. They advertise they clean rooms till 4. I calle at 3 when no one had come. She only spoke Spanish so I had to waste a lot of time going back & forth with google translator to find out why she won't clean. I finally told her to forget it and just leave me towels. 4. Broken hot tub and no chairs on roof top pool. 5. It rained while we were @ the pool in afternoon. Several folks stayed to swim. We needed towels but they closed the towel hut when it started raining. Even though it is fully enclosed. I had to go get towels from room wet. 6. Hotel bar advertises happy hour btwn 4-6 with discounted prices but they didn't give discount. 7. Lunch at pool. Waiter forgot my fries for burger. I asked for him if I can still have. He said yes & disappeared never to b seen again. 8. Valet & towel guys were nice. I was not hassled about how many towels I wanted like sometimes happens where u check out towels. 9. Hotel lobby bar has very limited selection of adult beverages and drinks are expensive. We went to daddy's liquor store 2 blocks away. 10. We loved being one block from a major grocery store. VERY limited restaurant options in area if you are not kosher 11. Nice big personal fridge to bring your own water, beer etc. 12. If you like a quiet chill beach not a Miami Beach scene this was lovely. read more

I stopped by the Grand Beach Hotel last night for a few drinks at their rooftop bar. Entering the lobby of the hotel, you notice a very modern and clean interior, with a lot of white and very little color. There's a small lobby bar straight ahead, and elevators to the left that will take you up to the rooftop pool & bar. Once on the roof level, where the pool sits, there's a small staircase you'll take down to get to the bar. The bar itself is a decent size with several outdoor couches and high top tables scattered throughout. I ordered an Absolut Vanilla & Coke, and the group I was with all ordered beer. The cocktail was well made, and there was a generous serving of liquor in it. The bar has two sizes, a small drink that looked to be about 8 oz, and the tall which looked closer to 12. I elected to go with the tall size, and the drink with an included 18% gratuity ran about $14. Although the prices were a bit steep, it seemed a bit on par for drink prices in Miami. Service was friendly and efficient, and the bartender, Victoria, was great at remembering drinks patrons ordered. As one of Surfside's only rooftop bars, the views here are far better than any other bar in the immediate area. With a great view of the entire downtown district, and even parts of South Beach, the views from the bar were unparalleled. If I'm ever in Surfside again, I could definitely see myself returning to the Grand Beach, although because of their steep prices, I'd be doing the majority of my drinking elsewhere. read more

The first thing I saw when I walked into the room was a soiled futon. (See pix) It was vile. The rest of the room was fine and the hotel was nice enough. Most of the hotel patrons were religious, I'd say 95% of them, so I steered clear of the pools and common areas since they were often crowded with rowdy children. --Even the "adult only" pool! As was the hallway of my suite. Upon checkout came the biggest grievance of the trip. Someone charged food to my room. I got an email with my charges and went to the front desk to tell them it was not me, I never ordered any food and wasn't actually even in the hotel the day of the charge. They argued with me, said they'd get the receipt "to show me my signature " which I replied, please do! When they found the receipt there was no signature! Just food charged to my room. I was told she'd discuss it with the manager but no one ever got back to me. I called and spoke with accounting and same thing happened, "we'll look into this with the manager and get back to." But they never did. I filed a grievance with my credit card for the charges but after looking into they say since I gave the credit card (upon check in for "incidentals") this is a valid charge!!! So basically what this tells me is you can go here, eat in the lobby and just tell them any room number and you'll have a free meal. Clearly I'm never staying here again. read more

I was laying out at the pool with my kids and my friend and one of the top floors poured dirty water in buckets all over us while laying out and eating!! My youngest is severely disabled and fed only by feeding tube and water went all over her too. We spoke with Michael, food and beverage manager and he apologized but did nothing to make it right. We have witness statements and pictures. Ridiculous. Update to review: I wrote this review while the situation was happening but when we ask to speak with another manager during the stay and she offered to buy our lunch due to the inconvenience. read more

Our stay at this hotel had been such an amazing and pleasant experience. The services from ALL staffs are excellent and we definitely felt like home. Not only all the facilities are nice and clean, beautiful decorations inside and the adult only rooftop pool area allowed us to relax to the fullest. We dined once (lunch) at hotel's restaurant- overall good food. Portions are on the smaller side... Most of the time we either walked to the next street to dine at different restaurants or drove down to SOBE. Valet parking 35$/night- quick and easy in and out Plenty of towels all around so no need for beach towel! Only complaint I have is... Complimentary drink (sangria) was just ok and the gelato they sell are nasty!! Other than these minor things that nobody really cares I recommend this place to anyone !! read more

I went there few days ago because i am a surfside resident and was really curious to see how it was from the inside!! It is really nice, they did a good work, everything is beautiful. I think there is not too many place where you can have lunch right on the beach face to the ocean on the sand. I went also on the rooftop to have a drink and i took many picture from there because the place is so relaxing and an amazing view. The pool on the rooftop is not allowed for kids under 21 so no noise and enjoy goog time. There also a sky bar but the ocean is on the back so you can only see the city and the bay. I am waiting for next time because i want to try a breakfast or Lunch there. read more

Very clean and nice hotel. This hotel was obviously remodeled. Has a lovely clean and "vanilla" like smell. :) there are two buildings. We didn't get to stay in the building that had ocean front. But the building we did stay in was just as lovely. We were greeted right away when we pulled in for parking. And having a gorgeous valet staff doesn't hurt either. Lol. When we came into the lobby area for the 2nd building, the gentleman at the front was very nice and helped us get checked in. Our rooms are clean, sleek, and kind of sexy. Two bathrooms. Both with nice showers. This place is nice. Two TVs in the room and the bed is nice and soft. My favorite thing about this place, is they have their own beach access. And when you get out there, they have guys grab you chairs and get you set up with an umbrella. Kind of like beach valet service. Nice, cuz it helps prevent those selfish people who get up early, grab chairs and put towels on them so they can reserve them all day. Uh uh...not here. And of course, they had a beverage and food service too. The beach was nice. No rocks. And the water was warm. Very nice. And the chairs had cushions. Very beach friendly. We didn't get a chance to really check out the main building. But this hotel is nice and next time we are in Miami, we will stay here. Can't really ask for much more. I saw a review where the guy said he could hear his neighbors. Not sure where his room was, but we couldn't hear our neighbors at all. I recommend giving this place a shot read more

My recent stay at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside consisted of a series of disrespectful, unfortunate, and horrifying experiences, one of which involved an emergency call to first responders. To begin with, this hotel charged me a $75 "Resort Fee," which one would presume includes the cost of utilizing the resort's beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Upon arriving to the beach, my party and I waited approximately 30 minutes in the heat while 3 teenage boys tasked with setting up chairs and umbrellas attempted their best to juggle pending requests and set up ours. Ultimately, we had to help these boys set up our own chairs and umbrellas. The chairs were INCREDIBLY DIRTY, and we had to wipe them down with the towels we were provided. Other parties seated around us similarly had to wipe down their chairs as well. Approximately 15 minutes after finally settling in at the beach, the weather took a turn, and a strong gust of wind sent at least 10 grand beach hotel umbrellas flying up in the air simultaneously. One of the umbrellas from the guests sitting in front of my group came to hit my boyfriend forcibly on the back of the head, knocking him down to the sand in sheer pain. The fact that so many umbrellas from this hotel came loose simultaneously indicated to me that the umbrellas were not being installed properly. However, what more can one truly expect from teenage boys who have been tasked with carrying heavy beach chairs and umbrellas? It was clear that these boys were being overworked, and were not trained properly on how to install the umbrellas. I do not blame them for what happened. Instead, I blame hotel management for deciding to cut expenses by hiring young kids, probably at a fraction of the cost, and failing to properly train them. Following the strong gust of wind, the boys failed to take any mitigating measures to avoid potential injuries to other guests (ex: closing remaining umbrellas). Instead, when it began to rain, the boys took off running with the rest of the guests for cover. This, again, speaks to their lack of training. Meanwhile, I had to carry in my boyfriend without the assistance of any hotel staff, sit him down, and seek assistance. A manager working at the lobby bar was able to assist us promptly, providing my boyfriend with ice for his injury and placing the phone call for first responders to examine him. The manager also told us that he would fill out an incident report. Another staff member working at that time, Teresa, was very nice to me and my family, offering us water and dry towels (we were drenched because of the rain). After first responders were able to examine my boyfriend and confirm that the injury should not present further issue, my group and I went about our day, but our evening plans presented a new set of problems. Our group had parked 2 cars with the hotel's valet. We went out to dinner. Upon arriving back to the hotel, we were told that hotel valet was on a "first come, first served" basis, and that the hotel's parking lot was filled to capacity. We were further instructed by the valet attendant to dispute the valet charge with the manager. After a very curt and demeaning discussion with evening manager Anabel Martinez-Sori (upon conducting a quick LinkedIn search we learned that she misrepresented her name to us as "Ana"), we were told that because of some technicality in the wording of their valet system, the hotel would be charging its guests for valet parking at an over-night rate, regardless of the fact that upon returning to the hotel, it's guests were UNABLE to park with the valet. What is the technicality, you ask?THE HOTEL GUEST USED VALET SERVICES FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. Imagine that. A hotel guest having their car parked in valet for more than an hour. Sounds like a guaranteed daily valet charge, even in instances such as the one I encountered where a GUEST'S car cannot be parked in valet because the valet lot was full. I have gathered from other reviews on various platforms that "Ana" is not the most pleasurable person to deal with. It is a shame that the hotel does not see it fit to address the manner in which she interacts with their guests. In sum, my stay at the grand beach hotel can be described as nothing less than torturous. And after several years of frequenting this establishment, I will no longer be returning, and I will advise others to avoid this "resort" whenever given the chance. read more

Beautiful, clean, and the best place to relax... loved the rooftop pool and jacuzzis. The entire property was spacious, modern, and a beautiful aroma filled the hotel and rooms. Everything smelled like coconut- my favorite! Had such a relaxing stay, I wish I could stay longer. I highly recommend the breakfast, haven't had such an amazing buffet like that in years. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved everything about this place! How could I forget the beach?! BEAUTIFUL! :) Ohhh and the bed... super comfortable. Rooms have 2 bathrooms with glass showers that are gorgeous. Everything about the room was wonderful. 4 rooms in 24 hours - Room 1 had electrical issues, room 2 had air conditioner issues, room 3 was not the sea view that I paid for, room 4 was fine so far - And for all these delays and moves? No official apology, no discount for the hours I spent waiting and moving, not even a free drink! Don't get me wrong, everyone is polite and nice, but simply doing their job with no direction for handling unusual problems with some sense to prioritize the situation. Came here with my girlfriends for a girls trip. We wanted to have a relaxing resort without the crowd. This place was perfect. Our plane landed early in the morning so we arrived at the hotel really early (way before checkin) but the front desk was able to accommodate us and let us get in our room no problem. The hotel itself is stunning, all white everything, feels vey Miami. There's a lobby bar, white leather couches, nice sitting area and the beach is literally just a few steps from the back door. They have a small "spa" (just two room massage place) but the masseuse was great!!! Pros: -Very friendly and accommodating staff. Allowed us to check in a few hours before checkin time. -Concierge were friendly and helpful. Especially at the beach. They helped set up umbrellas and chairs and took our drink orders no problem. -Steps from the beach. -Rooftop pool and bar (adults only) -Spa massage was great and relaxing -Loved the Nutella gelato -Quiet and Serene, very relaxing -Only 15mins uber ride to downtown Miami Cons: -Breakfast buffet was $27/person. Stayed here for 4 nights last month (June 2018) Overall, I was impressed by this hotel! Lobby was gorgeous, pool area/beach access was terrific! I also loved our room, a suite with a rap-around balcony and stunning view on one of the higher floors. Unfortunately some areas of concern I have that could make or break this hotel are as follows: I. Elevators - very slow, took way more time to get to and from your room then it should of. I believe one elevator was actually out of order. 2. Staff at pool area was scarce. It was nearly impossible to find someone to order a drink from. When I asked what was going on (to indoor bartender) I was just told "several people called in sick?!" Ok? 3. Coffee Kiosk in lobby area had hours posted to open at "7:00 am" and out of the 3 mornings I went down there, only once was there someone in there with lights on at that time. One morning I waited and saw the gal walking over at 7:13 am, I asked what time it was supposed to open, she said: "7:00," no apology or explanation of why she was late. Hey, I needed my coffee and the coffee in the room was not going to cut it:) 4. Housekeeping was hit or miss. Shampoos and soaps were not replenished and only 2 new towels replaced instead of 4. We had 4 guests total. One evening my husband called housekeeping to pick up pizza box in hallway (as we thought no one would appreciate seeing sitting there) it sat there all night. 5. Electricity in room was just "off" by that I mean some lamps worked, some did not..just flickered. Also, Tv (we had 4 total in the suite) would randomly "shut off" while you were watching it. Very annoying and strange. I still was impressed with the hotel itself. The items I mentioned were mainly staff related..and I feel can be improved and fixed. I think problems could really snowball if the little things don't improve - that can make or break a hotel. read more

Grand Beach Surfside is a beautiful building and very clean and elegant. The views are breath taking and I love the roof top deck with the adult only pool. My only complaint is that there spy was under construction the whole time I was here. I couldn't get an appointment till my last day of my vacation and I had to shorten that because of my flight. Grand beach is so peaceful because its a distance from all your major attractions, but catching a Uber makes up for that. Self parking at the hotel is $42 per night. If the spa was open I would have given grand beach 5 stars. read more

I started leaving messages for the manager the day we checked in, now I have left a total of at least 10 messages over a 4 day period. The manager does not seem to care enough to follow up with me. I have attached a few photos taken in my room that cost almost $700 per night, we had the 2 bedroom suite with ocean view on the 10th floor: * The upholstered bed had dried food on the side. * The desk chairs were dirty and stained. * The drapes had dirty stains. * The outdoor furniture was dirty. * The bathtub was dirty, the sink faucets were dirty. * The linens smelled. * The TV turned off every few minutes * We ordered food and it was disgusting, we called to have it picked up from the room and was told we had to pay for it, after arguing with the kitchen for 10 mins, she agreed to ask her manager and called me back saying we would not be charged after I argued with them that the salmon was not cooked and the burger was over cooked. Then the lady came to get it and fought with my son saying we should be charged. From check-in to check-out and up until today I have given the manager several opportunities to call me and at least apologize but no response. I waited until now to write my review in hopes he would at least respond to my messages. I booked my hotel through Hotels.com so I contacted them, they were more than eager to assist with my concerns. The manager agreed to give $75 as a credit. I appreciate Hotels.com trying to help. The credit from the manager is very upsetting, but it's more upsetting that he does not care to speak with his guest. I will never stay here again and suggest you stay at the Fontainebleau or any other hotel. This stay was so displeasing and aggravating. I wouldn't even pay $75 for a night's stay at this hotel, but the view would be worth $75. The employees all seem so miserable and now I know why, behind every disgruntled employee is a bad manager. If you want to experience the most unfriendly family service then grunge wanted a surfside for you. Checking into a hotel where all one person works at the reception, you will have to watch the tantrums of managers throwing documents in anger within an hour. Having survived the check-in and tried to fall asleep, we tried for an hour to call the room service, housekeeping, front desk to ask for a crib, but we failed. I wrote to go down to the reception and stand in line again for half an hour to hear that they would bring it within an hour, which was followed by a reasonable indignation and only after that an employee was sent to provide us with a crib. The next day it was very windy, the pool on the first floor was blown by the wind so much that waves were formed in it, since there is not one wind protective screen there, which makes being there with the child dangerous for his health !! The only place to relax without the wind is the rooftop pool as it has windscreens! Having climbed to the top and settled there with a sleeping child, I repeat only because there is no wind there, we did not even have time to relax when the hotel managers approached us and said that we must leave the pool as it is for people over 21 years old. In response to my question where I could spend time with my family without the wind without endangering the health of my child in this hotel I was offered to go to another hotel on the roof across the road !!!!! But there are no windscreens there either! While we were discussing we were surrounded by security guards, managers and all the staff that were in this hotel as if we were criminals !!! This whole circus is humiliating so much that this stress will be imprinted in my memory forever !! read more

Save your money and do not EVER stay in this hotel. My wife went for a week in March for Spring Break. The whole hotel was essentially under construction and she needed to move rooms to avoid the noise (there was no signage or any mention of construction prior to arrival.) Additionally, they had no water at the hotel. No drinking water, not bottled water, nothing. The blame was "COVID" of course, but I am guessing no other hotels are having that issue. Finally, to top it all off, they did not reverse the bill for the first room, but instead billed twice. $5,000 for a 4 night stay is laughable at best, and I wouldn't reconsider staying here for $50 for 4 nights. I have emailed their accounting department, sales department, management team. I have called and left messages for their accounting department and management team. Guess how many responses I have received back? You got it, zero. Currently disputing this with my credit card company. Again, don't ever stay at this hotel and tell your friends not to either. UPDATE 4.12.21 - After two weeks being disputed, the hotel finally got back to me with the refund. So, they get one star back; pretty sure the only reason it got dealt with is because of the dispute. The property on the main floor and the beach and pool area are pretty, but the customer service stinks.The food and service at the main restaurant are very good. However, we waited 6 hours for our room to be ready. You think since we were early birds, that they would have housekeeping clean our room soon after we arrived so we wouldn't have to wait 6 hours outside in the heat. All we wanted was a bed to sleep on. I understand that check in time is at 4 p.m., but I have been to MANY hotels, and have never had to wait until the very last second until the room was ready. If a guest shows up for one of your most expensive rooms, you make it a priority to clean that room as soon as possible. It wasn't ready until 4 p.m., 6 hours after we had arrived. We were tired and this was unacceptable. Their website stated if I found a cheaper price that I would receive a complimentary upgrade. I never received an upgrade even when I found a cheaper price and asked for the upgrade two month before our visit. This is false advertising. Also, our room was very dirty. There was soap scum and mold in the showers. Dirty toothpaste on the bathroom sink. It appears as if someone had previously thrown up on the bedroom floor and they didn't bother to do anything more than wipe it up so it was very obvious. We wanted to eat outside on our large balcony however there was sand all over the table, it had never even been cleaned. We are frequent Hilton and Marriott customers, and have never had a room this dirty, and have never had to wait six hours for a room to be ready. We will not be returning. PROS: nice hotel and nice employees CONS: 1. housekeeping sucks! asked for bedroom slippers 3 times and never came! And had the do not disturb sign on the door but housekeeping keeps on opening it! good thing there was a door stopper. and when i said not to clean the room yet, the lady looked at her watch and gave me a look like, "i have to clean now coz its late" 2. $44 per night valet parking! ridiculously expensive! fyi we stayed for 6 nights. so almost $300 for parking. 3. found cockroach crawling under the bed arrgh. 4. got an oceanview room and they gave us 3rd floor with partial oceanview and partial trees view. so we asked to changed our room and we did the next day. 5. paid $28 per night for resort fees and wasnt able to use the gym coz its under maintenance. overall, we are not coming back to this hotel knowing that there are tons around the area. 2 stars are just for the nice hotel, nice employees and hardworking valet crew. read more

See the attached below screen shots of emails that were sent to management multiple times in regards to our stay for my birthday. Here is a copy of the email complaint and follow up emails I have sent to management, in addition to speaking to them in person. There are pictures of how dirty our feet got from being inside our hotel room only. The hotel, including the amenties, were dirty. On top of this many hotel guests discriminated towards us and made us feel very uncomfortable. It is truly a nasty environment. Amenties do not even look like the pictures and the hotel is low quality overall. Hotel staff is also very rude. No one has followed up with me or resolved this situation and its been a week. This situation in general was horrific but is not made 10x worse with managments handling of the issue. EMAILS SENT TO MANAGEMENT Good afternoon, I spoke with Carlo's on Sunday in person in regards to our stay. He wanted me to send a follow up email with the photos attached, which was done, so he could escalate this to the general manager. I have not heard anything from anyone after that day. I have even sent a follow up email and survey through the reservations department. I have now called two days in a row about ten times and no one has answered the operator option at your site location. The phone just continues to ring and ring. Also, the reservations department has been unable to help me and transfer me to a manager. The described situation below is unacceptable and in addition to this, the follow up and resolution of this situation is a problem now as well. Under no circumstances should a hotel be able to operate where you can not reach anyone on the phone when you call. We did not go outside and the dirt residue was caused from the hotel room floor. I would expect more, especially during this time of Covid-19, where cleanliness is priority. In addition, I'd like to point out a few instances from our stay. I ordered Uber eats last evening and called the front desk to bring plastic silverware so I that was able to eat my dinner, spaghetti. They never brought the utensils, I did not get to eat my dinner, and it had to be thrown out the next morning. This morning we went downstairs to get coffee and had an encounter with three staff members, one of them was named Andre. They were incredibly rude to us and had a bad attitude when we asked if the bar was open. When we went to the rooftop pool, there was no pool attendant to be found and we had to get our own towels and place them on the chairs. This morning I ordered Uber eats and per the deliver person it was left in the lobby hotel staff but when we went downstairs we asked many staff members and it was no where to be found. The prices at this hotel are not cheap and overall I was disappointed in our stay and expected more from this experience. This was actually my birthday, We are Miami locals and could have chosen any of the hotels in area. Some positives- it was a beautiful room other than the floor being dirty. Sandra at the front desk was very helpful and went above and beyond to make our check in memorable for the birthday. The server, Fredric, was very helpful and made sure we were able to get something to eat quickly and provided us with excellent service. Omg, I have never gotten a rash from a hotel but when I woke up this morning my thighs were burning! I don't know what bit me but my legs are so itchy! See photos. Before my legs were attacked my review was: Chic place. Rooms are okay, unfortunately mine had a street view v. beach. Pros: two free drinks at the bar, two TVs, nice large fridge but no complimentary water, and two bathrooms in the room. Cons: balcony not available(!), $28 resort fee, bed sheets are not soft (way too crispy for my liking), no bathtub boo, bath products are made in China (I don't even feed my dog food made in China so why would I want shampoo and conditioner made in China?) read more

Hotel? Or maybe motel. No care for clients, no service after 7:00 pm and actually dirty sheets and room. This is where the word "lipstick on a pig" would be a fitting explanation. We took a place for our family of 4, the largest room they had. Here are is a summary of our experience. Inside the beds were covered in sand, inclusive of sheets. When we arrived to the hotel it was not possible to drop our car off for 25 minutes as there was no one to take the car and no other alternative for self parking. When we got to the room, even though the expectation was to have the sofa sleeper ready there was no preparation. We called multiple times downstairs however there is pretty much no one at the front desk to answer the call. Ironically the whole crew can be found behind closed doors "chit chatting" if as a customer you knock on the door that says staff behind the wall and you find them. When asked to help to the task of opening the sofa bed, the manager said he'll try to do his best but no guarantees. When finally someone showed up with sheets, we were told to make the bed ourselves and there was no pillow given. On our 3rd trip to the manager desk, as no one ever pick up the phone, the manager said not to bother him at his "hiding spot". He said that the hotel does not provide any service after 7:00 pm. All in all it became very clear that the hotel manager nor anyone actually cares about offering any hospitality service. My reason for giving two stars is the view from the room is quite stunning and the balcony is long and spacious. This is pretty much where the pros end. I'm currently staying at the Grand Beach Surfside. The price of this hotel does not match the quality of service or amenities. Upon arrival my room did not feel clean. There was residue from the last person who had showered (obvious substance all over the shower handle). My towel had a long black rogue hair in it. The floors were quite dusty as I mentioned to the "digital concierge". The lobby bar is understaffed and open from 12-5 The "Adult only" rooftop pool and skybar is full of children and the bar is closed indefinitely. read more

I never write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. The service at this hotel is absolutely HORRIBLE. The man that seems to be in charge of the downstairs market and bar area is rude and makes you feel as if you're inconveniencing him with any request. The other male servers are walking around on their cellphones like they are doing you a favor by serving you. The men setting up the chairs are lazy and incompetent. We walked up and 3 of them sat there staring at us until we finally said can we have 2 chairs. I asked for a replacement chair because all the straps where you sat were caved in and I was sitting on a bar. They never changed it out. We had to get extra towels elsewhere. We keep feeling as if we're going to check out with some weird fee that we didn't know about. Probably the worst feeling to ever feel when you're staying at a hotel. OH! And to make matters worse - their pictures are 100% photoshopped. The pool is nothing like the pictures online. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel are 2 things - 1) the inside lobby is beautiful and the rooms are nice. 2) there is one girl server with long hair- she was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE and actually made you feel welcome. I am so disappointed in how deceiving this place looked online and the service like I said - worst I have ever had in any hotel I have ever stayed in. Please please read the reviews before staying at this hotel. I would not recommend it at all and are very disappointed that we are staying here and paying for this kind of service. Can smbdy advise what to do in this case? Yesterday around 12 pm afternoon, after we came back from breakfast at Starbucks i decide to go to the beach, We left 10$ tip for the Room service,then i came back to our room after 2 hr.The housekeeping cleaned our room already and we discover that is missing all the Money from my Wallet.(wallet was in her Backpack under the night stand) We call the Hotel Manager, they called the Police and today they supose to Investigate the case. After 5 hrs Manager of this hotel said that they can't help us, Police is talking care of this.Police said that they interrogate the Lady who cleaned the room and she's firm that she didn't took any money. thank u. read more

I stayed at this resort over the weekend and on Saturday evening I realized my earrings we missing. I wrote them to the hotel Friday and right before I went to sleep that night I put them on the night stand. Saturday before going to dinner they were not there. Short review....4 stars, great location, cool pools, nice rooms. Just the details is what makes it 4 instead of five. If you are considering this place and are just looking for a nice, relaxing hotel I would recommend you pull the trigger. More family friendly than it might appear. Bring cash, that extra half star brings with it services that require a little appreciation to be spread around. Along those lines let me recommend this, if you are not planning to do much running around avoid bringing a vehicle here and use Uber or taxis. The parking here is $42 per day not including the tip you're going to give the vallet each time they touch your car, it adds up fast and is probably the biggest drawback to the hotel. Parking in the area is generally expensive so you'll be paying a lot wherever you stay so again, Uber if you can. There is also a $26/day resort fee per room. Not terrible by any means but factor it in when you're figuring out your vacation budget. I should mention one other issue I am having, the lack of information on the hotel itself. I don't think I've ever been to a hotel before that didn't have a book in the room with all the hotel info and at times this has led to some confusion. In their defence there is a consierge but I guess I'd just be more comfortable with being able to research some of these things myself....just personal preference I guess. Longer review.....Based on very differing reviews I was uncertain exactly what to expect from this hotel. This vacation was a family one with a six year old and we had some concerns if it might be a little too "adult" for her. Turned out to be no worries there. The pool had plenty of kids and was shallow enough (3'06" to 4') so she could swim without any concerns. While I'm on the pool topic I'll cover a couple things I had read reviews about. There is a "towel card" set up here where you trade your card for towels and get the card back up return. This is really not as big of a hassle as I read in a couple reviews although on one occasion there was an issue with cards being apparently all moved to the beach area and we therefor could not return our towels at the pool. I believe there is probably a better system that could be used but this is certainly not anything that I lost sleep over. Another minor issue is the pool hours that seem to be a little inconsistent and difficult to sort out based on a lack of signage. For what it's worth the hours seem to be 9:00am-7:00. 7:00 seems to be a little early to close the pool but there is a private condo next door that likely has something to do with that. Pool service was spotty at best but the bar is literally about 50 feet from the pool so again, no major deal. The beach....great access, room to ocean is about two minutes counting the elevator ride. Same deal with towels and chairs as the pool, a little bit of a hassle (especially during busy times) but the employees are friendly and work hard to accomodate. Water is warm, sand is soft, morning sunrise is awesome. Room.....the rooms are pretty nice, very functional. We had a king with a queen sized pull out sofa bed. The sofa bed was relatively comfortable and the king was nice. These beds are on opposite sides of the room partially seperated by one of the TWO bathrooms. Each half of the room has it's own tv and the seperation is suprisingly effective in allowing the family to watch seperate shows without the sound being an issue. It's really a pretty nice set up for a reasonably priced room. The balcony is also pretty nice, good sized but a little too close to neighboring rooms for much privacy. There are two showers in the room (no tubs) and the pressure is fantastic, it can be hard to pull yourself out of there to be honest. I haven't checked out the rooftop bar but will update if I get up there. Overall I would recommend this place to pretty much anyone including families. So I did get up to the rooftop bar/pool area late last night. One word, SPECTACULAR. The bar area is small but is connected to a suprisingly large pool area with a hot tub and pool that are the same size as the main pool area on the ground floor. What amazed me about the adult area (aside of course of the incredible view of the lit up city from 12 stories up that the glass "walls" allow) was the amount and comfort of the couches strewn about the area. This is NOT like you would expect, three nice couches that you can never seem to find empty, there are tons of them. Plenty of room to have your own space to relax in comfort. It's like a whole other vacation experience up there, highly recommended to all. read more
