Six of us spent the weekend at Grand Casino. We had three rooms booked. The entire weekend was extremely disappointing. The lack of employees, the lack of cleanliness and the constant chase to redeem what we were promised was sickening. We booked an offer (see attached) that included a free room and a meal (plus guest) at 1991 Kitchen. The offer clearly stated it was valid Sun-Thurs. We followed the instructions on the email and did not have the offer show up at the kiosks. When we asked for help, we were told to go to the hotel, then the hotel pointed us to Grand Rewards, and guess what, they pointed us back to the hotel. I even had the screenshot in hand! Not a single person wanted to take responsibility and help. Each time we had to wait in a terribly long line. Then, on Sunday, when we were expecting to have a free crab dinner anytime after 11am, it wasn't there! Every single offer, every single incentive to enjoy a "perk" was an absolute runaround. For a Holiday weekend, hours in the restaurants and Plums should have mirrored a weekend, not a Sunday night (when I'm sure the casino is slow - Sunday of a HOLIDAY weekend, mirrors Saturday. That doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out!!!) Plums was so understaffed and the quality was horrendous. Because we did not get our two meals at 1991 kitchen, we grudgenly ate at Plums after playing bingo (1991 kitchen was closed on top of it). All of our food was ice cold and I literally was handed a hamburger that was missing 3/4 of a bun! The employee made it right once she realized how ridiculous it was that I was even handed the hamburger basket to begin with. Zero quality control!!! One of the individuals in our group was given $150 in VIP comps (food) ahead of the time (by text). Guess what....it wasn't there! Again, we had to fight for something that was promised. One of our rooms was so dirty upon check in. Dusty and literal cookie crumbs on the floor and table. We were so excited for this getaway. Of course the slots were terrible, but again, the things we were promised weren't there. YOU NEED NEW MANAGEMENT. We were not the only group feeling this way. It will be a very long time before we come back.

DIRTY ROOM!

ROOM WAS DIRTY! when we arrived stains in the bedding could feel the dirt in the carpet in the room, crumbs from previous guest on the table, food on the floor by the bed from previous guests. Got drinks at the bar and could not taste the alcohol!

My family and I have been to this casino a few times now and have never had a bad time. We have never stayed in the hotel part but just come for the actual casino to gamble. The machines here seem to be pretty good and up-kept! They are nice and clean usually. The layout of the casino makes pretty good sense too. It can be difficult to get around if you have never been before but easy to get familiar with. I have never played at the tables here, but they look nice and always have people at them! The food options here are also good. They have a buffet, a fast food style one, a cafe/ice cream shop, and one or two other options. I like the variety and the option to get a quick bite or drink when i need it! Overall a decent casino. I think the grand casinos do a great job inside their establishments. Good options and nice machines!

I don't go to casinos...but when Alan Parsons performs near the Twin Cities-I gotta go! Who knew there were at least 2 "Grand Casinos"? One in Hinckley (I'm aware of that one because of the MS-150 ride), and this one near Lake Mille Lacs (Onamia). Upon entry, I was overcome by the cigarette stink! Little did we know that we could have entered by the music venue-a nonsmoking area. The seating in the venue were like old buffet chairs-neither comfortable nor roomy. They were placed right next to each other for this concert (I need more space!). The concert itself was wonderful - yes, I was up dancing in the aisles! The sound system was good.

Recently ate at the new buffet. Poor selection, poor service and grossly dirty. Eat anywhere but here.

Very smokey. $25.99 buffet. And a lot of unhappy people. My wife and I were hoping for something fun like the commercials..

Yes, this is a dry casino, which, as a beer lover I found annoying...

Had a great vacation with family here! We loved exploring the trails and relaxing on the lake. The owners are great - we spent a lot of time hanging out in the store and enjoying free popcorn and good company. They also have cute and friendly dogs which is always a plus! Overall, a great experience - will definitely be returning!

Seriously, this doesn't get any better. Our first year here was under the new owners, but I…read moreunderstand that the previous owners were pretty good also. These owners are super nice people and beyond fair in their dealings. Free K-cup coffee and popcorn in the office, they actually bring popcorn to you most evenings as you sit around the campfire. Free donuts, juice, and coffee by the lake your first morning there. A fun "holey-board" tourney is a highlight. The only complaints about this place I have ever heard are by entitled folks who don't believe in parking boat trailers in the provided parking area and are otherwise rude rule-breakers in general! Rules are there to protect both the owner and you. The owners are NOT sticklers and will work with you. We rented a window A/C and they didn't charge us because it ended up being a cool week and we only ran it a couple days. The grounds are well-maintained. The driveway and area around the office are paved, so my granddaughter had a blast riding her scooter. Cabins are quite nice, spacious, and comfortable with nice kitchens... no slackers here. Newer cabins are VERY nice, and some have central air. Volleyball, playground, and a very large lawn for games. They have boats available, including pontoons. There are several docks and a swimming beach with lots of water toys. The lake isn't really big, so that means you don't wake up in the morning to jet-skis! Very quiet place, and they even have nesting bald eagles. Very close to Nevis and a nice drive to Park Rapids for shopping or to Walker for shopping and the casino. This is infinitely better than our previous resort home, both in ownership and in overall amenities.

Prime rib, crab legs, lots of seafood, great salad bar. At 36 dollars per person with soft drinks included, very fair. Didn't try alcohol, so can't speak to that. But honestly, this is about the people. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, Desiree was on it. She wasn't just taking care of our table, she seemed to be everywhere, checking on guests, clearing tables, helping people, always with a great attitude. She noticed my elderly father was having some difficulty, and without being asked, helped him with his plate, condiments, and getting settled. The rest of the staff was warm and helpful too, including the carver, who was friendly and welcoming. One thing that stood out to me as a guest, we saw a table leave a pretty big mess, and it was a reminder to all of us to make things a little easier on the staff by stacking plates and consolidating where we can. Overall excellent food, outstanding value, but the customer service is what we'll remember. Desiree went above and beyond, and the whole team made our family outing enjoyable. Five stars.

The crab was excellent with prime rib and fried scallops! A full bar is right next to the seating so it's easy to order alcoholic drinks.
