First off shout out to Chris! He is such an awesome guy! He was knowledgeable about the wine offerings, and it was great talking to him about music, various places we've been in the country and finding out we knew folks in similar areas! The Barista Ink Cabernet that I tried, I would for sure recommend. (Cherry notes folks!) The mushroom flatbread is really good, and is something that would get my husband to tag along again. Chris let us know that they have live music on Friday, maybe Saturday nights. Plus, we loved the little puppy treat station by the door. The lady who answered the phone said that they had open tables and offered to reserve us one without me even asking. So kind! Everyone who interacted with us was incredibly friendly and welcoming! Ambiance - they pretty much only have tables that seat 4, but they're large enough if you need to grab another chair. The inside has a rustic and intimate vibe - feels like you're in a wine cellar! Drinks + Food - Santa Julia Brut Rosé - filled to the brim! A delightful rosé that had the perfect balance between dry and sweet notes. Seasonal Hummus - very fresh and homemade! Smoky and savory taste that pairs well with the crudité and lightly toasted/buttery baguette slices. Cheese Flatbread - great cheese to sauce ratio. Laura was friendly and helpful. I let her know what type of wine I usually like. She suggested I go with the Santa Julia Brut Rose from Mendoza, Argentina. I really enjoyed it and purchased a bottle. The mushroom flatbread was ok, but I wouldn't purchase it on my next visit. The sweetest wine they have at this time is Karl Josef Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Kabinett from Mosel, Germany 2022. My wife and I dropped in for a visit during a Yelp Elite Week Event and we are so glad we did. Grand Cru was perfect in every way. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon on the sidewalk at the bistro tables and chair in front of Grand Cru. What an incredible time we had. Alfred was phenomenal, he has a wealth of know about their very extensive wine offerings. He offered some wonderful selections for my wife to try. She ended up selecting a flight, "The Sweeter Side of Wine." I opted for the Herencia Altes Garnatxa Negra Rioja. What a beautiful red with a wonderful bouquet. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The crostini with baby bellas, creamy chevre, and crispy prosciutto di Parma was so delicious. I mentioned to Alfred this definitely needs to be a new menu item. The crostini was very delectable. I would have ordered more of them if possible but already had a couple of other items ordered. To supplement our munchies, we ordered the Charcutier Sampler plus the pepperoni flat bread with mushrooms. How delightful both of our "shareables" were. The flat bread was one of the best flat breads we've ever had. Finally, my bad alter ego twisted my arm convincing me I HAD to end the perfect afternoon with dessert. I decided on the TARTA DE SANTIAGO. It was a beautifully tasting dessert almost the consistency of a pound cake. It was delicious. I went to this wine bar with friends who are regulars. This place is nice because they have a very extensive wine menu that is always changing so you never can get bored. The only downfall is that if you find something you like you gotta buy it while it's available. I got a wine flight called the Tour of Italy, which has a dry white, dry rose and a dry red. I enjoyed all three, however it was the bottle we got that I loved so much! It's called Ammunition The Equalizer red blend . It was dynamic and beautiful. We split the seasonal charcuterie board which was delicious. This board has some of the best prosciutto I've had in a while, and a chorizo that paired so well with the Ammunition wine. I had the opportunity to stop in early on a Wednesday. I had never been before, but had heard good things. The space was larger than I thought, and the atmosphere was comfortable. They have an interesting selection of wines displayed on the wall and the prices range from $12 to $100. They display the tasting notes as well as the country of origin. I did a pinot noir sampler and my gf did a sweet whites sampler. Suyen our server was a very informative and smart woman. She is way kind and professional but also good with her wine knowledge. I enjoyed all my reds and my gf liked all her whites and learned she enjoys Chenin Blanc quite a bit as a white wine. Did not sample any foods so next time we try that also. I tried a couple of Red wines from Spain and Argentina. Horencia Alties and Teho. Both were very good. I was able to schmooze with a couple from Frisco. He was a former Marine and she was from a military family. Since I am retired Navy he and I connected as members of the Navy/Marine Corps team. That's why I like these places. Had a very unpleasant experience here. Stopped by on a Friday night excited to try this place since they had live music playing. The artist playing that night had a sweet dog sitting by her as she was singing so assuming they were dog friendly and I walked in with my small dog. Staff greeted me, I sat down, ordered wine and was served. Midway through my glass of wine someone approached me asking for "documents" for my dog since they only allow service dogs. I'm perfectly understanding of this policy as a dog owner, however, this establishment should learn how to properly handle a service pet situation. I would've loved to be made aware of their policy when I walked in or prior to being served. They basically kicked me out after having served me. Grand Cru offers a curated selection of fantastic wines available by the glass, bottle or in a variety of flights. I have enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc flight, Rosé flight, Dark & Spicy Red flight, Pinot Noir flight, there is something for every mood & type of weather. They carry one of my favorite wines that can be hard to find; the Obsidian Ridge Cabernet from the Red Hills AVA north of Napa, a fantastic wine region. Our favorite thing to order is the Crostini with mushroom, chèvre and fried prosciutto. We also enjoy the charcuterie board. It is located on magnolia Ave in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth. It is just a few blocks from The Beast and countless other eateries that are very popular. Great service, very friendly. There are a dozen ish tables scattered through the room. We sat at a high 4-top facing the windows looking out to the street. There are seats at the counter as well and I believe a few out front as well. One side of the room has floor to ceiling wine displays. Alfred is the best!! I love coming here. There's always some kind of great special going on for discounts on wine, and their tapas style menu is the best. You can choose 5 cheeses for $15 and it comes with bread, crackers, honey, and some kind of jam. They have plenty of gluten free options and I always find their food colorful and fresh. The Champagne Campaign consists of ALL DRY and i've never tasted such smooth and bubbly liquids lol! My YES friend received the complimentary glass of red wine for the event. They gave a choice between a white and a red. (I'm a sucker for variety) She loved the wine so much, maybe she ordered another glass! Haha! My friend and I are both cheese lovers and couldn't narrow down what we wanted to order for our tray. Alfred, the best server in the town, offered to make our selections for us. His selections were perfect! Things and flavor profiles I had never tried or even thought of! What a delicious adventure! The location wasn't super busy but did pick up i traffic as the evening moved on. We arrived around 430 and left just before 8pm. I had an incredible first experience at Cru! I had made a reservation for two and felt so welcomed over the phone by Alfred. I mistakenly went to a different Cru and called that I was running late. They were so sweet and understanding and held the table. When we arrived, it was the perfect set up for a date night or intimate celebration. I don't even like mushrooms, but this was something I'd order again. I am not a wine enthusiasts, enjoyed the white wine! It was smooth and crisp. It had peach and grapefruit notes. I asked Aurora for a recommendation of something sweet and tried the purple bottle I have pictured. It is a sweet white wine with peach notes from Germany and was spectacular. I'd definitely get it again. To end the night, definitely save room for dessert! I took one bite and wished I could have a whole plate of the Tarta de Santiago. Even better than my old place since their list is grander and greater. There are more bite options and they taste oh so good. We really enjoyed the baby Bella crostini and a glass of their red wine. I was concerned about bringing our little one since the place itself felt very nice on the inside and I was hoping she wouldn't cause a toddler fuss (as she sometimes does). For the elite event I chose the tempernillo and it was so smooth with subtle flavors. I wish I could have bought a bottle (they weren't selling them due to the event, but when I come back will definitely buy a bottle of it!). The crostini was delicious and is something they should put on the menu! On my own I ordered the fig and pig panini and it truly was one of the best paninis I've ever had!
