You might be inclined to order one or two more meats because they sound good, but you the amount they bring you is plenty! We did the bananas foster dessert fondue-UNREAL! Summary: good food and great experience means we will return! We had a few "ah ha" moments to take with us next time. We didn't get the early bird pricing even though I followed the directions on their website, so that didn't thrill me. TONS of detail below! :) I surprised my fiancé with a birthday dinner here last week. What a fun experience! Yes, it is expensive, but between the amount of food we had and the overall experience, I didn't have any problem at all with the price. While you enter the building at street level, you actually have to go downstairs for the restaurant. Jumping ahead real quick - they do have an elevator that we used when leaving. Two things to be aware of. First, street level is not "1", which is tagged with the *. Read the sign above the buttons and you will be fine. It took us a minute or two, but we figured it out. Second, the back elevator doors are the ones that opened for us to leave. Not a problem, but it takes you to an alleyway. A short and not terribly scary alleyway, but an alley nonetheless. The restaurant itself is dimly lit with nooks and crannies galore for a more private and intimate experience. We ordered the fondue feast, which comes with one cheese fondue, 2 salads, 4 selections per person for the entree course and one chocolate fondue. We each ordered the house salad, one with roasted garlic ranch dressing and the other with bleu cheese. The salads were great and the depressing has to have been homemade - they were wonderful! We chose the French Onion Swiss cheese fondue, which included garlic, mushrooms and shallots. Dippers for this course included a couple types of bread, raw veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and celery) and granny smith apples. The apples were interesting but very tasty! Each dipper was a little larger than I would have liked since in most cases they could not be eaten in a single bite, which got a bit messy for me! We each chose 4 items to be included in our entree course. In addition to those selections, they served veggies, cheese raviolis and stuffed mushrooms. Let me tell you - that was A LOT of food! They have a whole spiel to tell you what needs to be cooked for 1, 2 or 3 minutes and what sauces were what - it blew my mind trying to keep up. One thing that our server didn't do, but would have been helpful, was to tell us what sauce went with what entree. Better yet, write all of these instructions and helpful information down and leave it at the table! We ordered 8 different items, but honestly, it may have been better to have selected only 4. With the amount of food, I don't think I was able to try each one before I was full! We selected the Midnight Delight chocolate fondue to close out our meal. It consisted of dark chocolate, marshmallow crème, caramel and sea salt. She lit it on fire so we could toast marshmallows, which is always fun! There were so many dippers, and our server brought more since we had chocolate left. My fiancés favorite were the cherries and I loved the cookie dough and cream cheese. The additional cookie dough and cream cheese were rock hard frozen, so not quite as good as the first served! If you make a reservation for 5pm or 5:30pm and ask for the early bird special, you are supposed to get $10 off per person. We ate here last night for our anniversary. It has been quite awhile since we have been here, but usually a good experience. Last night was not the case. Our person taking care of us was friendly and the service was good. The warmer was not turned on, so it took a bit for the cheese to melt. Normally when they bring out the cooking oil it is already hot, but not tonight. So again another delay. From there it went okay, but when the chocolate came out and again not hot. So, where to start this 1 star review. We went to celebrate our daughter in law's 30th birthday and there were 9 of us. She ended up crying due to how we were treated. Won't get into those details since this is a food review site. One in our party thought we were eating brown gravy! 4th- The money end. It states $16 per person for cheese or chocolate fondue. The waitress (stated she was chatty, and she was) said do you want 1 or 2 of each? We said 2 because there were two burners on our table and four people. Long story short. Our bill was $102.60, and our 2 kids were $80!!! So $32 each and a whopping "large party" tip for just a 1 out of 10 food review. Even though "they" split us up we were still charged a large party tip We always tip, so she would have gotten a tip anyway. 5th- Before we had even finished our chocolate fondue she brought out our tickets. She sheepishly said I just wanted go ahead and give you the tickets! What, why?? We finished up at our table and we were waiting on the others the waitress came 4 times to see if we needed anything else. That's fine, but each time it's like "aren't you ready to leave yet" so I can have this table back. We had enough and got up and told our daughter in law we'll just wait outside. I am not a person who generally writes negative reviews, but I had to make an exception for the experience my family and I received last night at this establishment. Food: My family of 4 ordered the 4 course menu option, which came with 2 cheese fondue selections for the table, 3 proteins each, and 2 chocolate fondue selections for the table. The food was mostly fine, some of the dinner proteins ordered were overly salty, but overall I was satisfied with the quality of the meal. The only exception to that was that our cheese fondue was burned and curdled, explained below. Service: The service was inattentive at best. We had a 5:30 reservation on Mother's Day, and while we had no issues getting seated, we where there until 8 pm. The server was nice, but frequently gone and seemingly inexperienced. Our drinks were constantly unfilled unless we flagged someone down for refills, the server said she was going to get this or that (salads, rescue spoons, etc.), and would just leave for 10-15 minutes at a time. The worst part was that she started our cheese fondue cooking and then left for over 20 mins. The shift manager eventually showed up to finish preparing the dish and apologized, but by then the cheese was burned and curdled. During the initial prep, the server also put her bare hands in the cheese before putting it in the fondue pot, which grossed me out. Ambience: The main issue with this place is that it's ambience does not match it's price point. The table we were seated at was cramped and chaotic. The fondue burners take up so much room on the table that there is scarcely room for plates, which were everywhere. The aisle between tables is very narrow and full of waitstaff constantly walking to and fro, and the experience made me feel as though I was in the cabin of an airplane. The ventilation is poor, and we left there covered in oil residue after being smoked out by the cheese and protein courses caused smoke and steam to blow into our faces. The booths were old, dirty, and uncomfortable. There is a fine sheen of oil on all of the floors, which makes for a very slippery experience. So much so that I almost fell twice during the 2 times that I went to the restroom. Speaking of the restroom, when we arrived at 5:30, the trash in the men's restroom was overflowing. Since the restaurant opens for dinner at 5, it was very clear to me that no one even looked at it before opening for dinner. When I went back to the restroom at 8 before leaving, it was in the same state. In summary, I would expect this lack of attention to detail if I was at a fast casual restaurant, but not at a place that cost me over $300 for a family of 4. Our oil was a little too hot so we kept burning a lot of our dood bc the outside was cooking so quick while the inside of our meats weren't quite done yet. While the cooking the meat was a bit of an anxiety ridden experience, I was concerned about the portions as well, but they turned out to be good. They do let you eat off of other people's fondue at your table, so that was a bonus! I would totally go again for the cheese and/or dessert fondue (these went off without a hitch). Better than Melting Pot!!!! I've always gone to the other for my fondue cravings, but this was so close to my hotel I couldn't pass it up. And boy am I glad I did!! My biggest complaint is the actual location. You have to walk inside a building and then go down all these stairs before reaching the actual restaurant, I did not notice an elevator, so I'm not even sure if this location is accessible, but I imagine there must be one I didn't see. And because it's underground, there's no service, but if you ask your server, they'll give you the super complicated WiFi password. And that's the end of my complaints. Everything else was perfect. I came by myself (I was on a work trip) and my server was very friendly and talked to me plenty. I had the bacon Gouda cheese fondue which was amazing! The dipping items are unlimited, which I loved since Melting Pot isn't that way, and I'm a picky eater, so I don't like all of the options. I also had the snickerdoodle white chocolate fondue blended in a yin and yang style with milk chocolate and it was INCREDIBLE. I could have that snickerdoodle white chocolate forever and be so happy. They also give you a small ball of cookie dough and a small ball of cheesecake as a dipping option, which I just ate them on their own. The dipping options here are also unlimited, which was bad for me because I had way too many marshmallows! Overall, the ambience was lovely, the food was phenomenal, and the service was incredible. 11 out of 10 recommend. Also, if the restaurant reads these, I forgot my server's name, but he was a younger guy with gages in his ears, and he was the best server I had while in Fort Worth. We feel very ripped off here. i started off with 3 stars, as I wrote my review, the stars became a black hole and died. We really hoped this place would be better than The Melting Pot or at least same level. And to us the melting pot was already "eh" - too expensive for extremely simple plates. We saw this on groupon and thought it was a decent deal. $40 on groupon, then they tag on $27 for tax and grat. Really??? so for $67 - we got measly plates of meat and dessert pickings. At least at melting pot, they gave us more meat since my husband didn't want a salad and they had no soup to offer. Here they said nope. If you don't want a salad, nothing they would do about it. Which I ate two salads. The bacon wedge- too much dressing and just okay. Ingredients were lacking. And the bacon bits tasted like the fake stuff in the package. Even the wedge of lettuce was small. I looked around at other tables and saw bigger portioned sized salad. Cesar - too sour. Melting pot's was unique and delightful. Most of the meats were not seasoned and very small pieces. I remember at MP being impressed with the meats, it's freshness, and size and amount we got. Here - BIG let down. Dessert - the pic i posted up is before we ate anything off the platter. Literally I skewered one marshmallow and then paused to take a picture. The platter of fruits/cake looked half eaten or someone's leftover. Cheese fondue- Mediterranean. Another unimpressive dish. I don't have nice dishes at home but I can at least make a better presentation and plating. So the ending: I think when they heard we had a groupon, they just gave us peoples leftovers. Cause that's what it looked like. Like they gave us smaller portions than others around us and some of those portions looked near expired or from the bottom of the barrel. We wanted to see if we just didn't care for fondues. But this place set us wayyyy back to where we would gladly go back to MP- and I gave that place a 3 star. We also used a groupon there, but received fresh, good quality and plentiful ingredients even though the waitress was terrible there. Oh another thing I noticed here. When someone took our pot full of hot oil away, she did not use a contraption to cover the pot like we saw at MP. What if, as she rounded the corner, a customer or employee happen to come around and bumped into her. Both would get scalded by the hot oil! It's just not safe precautions here. I always thought my first restaurant fondue experience would be one of the many Melting Pots at various malls in the northeast. Luckily, on vacation, I went to Simply Fondue first. They set the bar higher than any Melting Pot can ever attain. Even luckier for our party of 6 - we were here on a convention, and they offered a discount if you showed your badge - 25% off the base cost of the House Special dinner (that's $11 off). But even if you're not there for a convention, you can still get $9 off the House Special dinner with a Yelp check-in. Our waitress, Hope, was amazing. She very definitely contributed to our overall enjoyment of our dinner. If you're adventurous, the best way to enjoy these would be the Martini Tree, 12 shots of about 2-3 oz. each, 4 each of 3 selections. The House Special includes salad, fondue appetizer, dinner, and dessert. The appetizer will be beer/cheese fondues with several types of bread and vegetables. For your main course, you get various oils and sauces in which to cook and flavor your selections. The basics include several types of meat and fish. For nominal fees, you can "upgrade" to more exotic meats such as wild duck, alligator, bison, venison, lobster tail, quail, and shark. A vegetarian plate is also available. Dessert fondues are an assortment of white, milk, and dark chocolates, with added flavors and/or liqueurs. You get a plate of fruit, cakes, and marshmallows. Before serving, Hope poured a shot of Everclear on top of the fondue and lit it. That served to add a complex singe flavor to the chocolate and allowed us to toast our marshmallows. The fondue experience won't disappoint, it makes for a fun date night. The food was just ok. Where my issue comes in with this restaurant is the Groupon tipping expectation. The waiters ask up front if you have a Groupon, therefore they know they'll be getting a $20+ no matter how good or bad the service is. We didn't have the worst service ever, but it was by far the best and didn't warrant the high tip that was required. I'm all about leaving a nice tip, but not when the service isn't deserving of it. If you're going to purchase a Groupon, please realize that you really aren't getting a "deal" because they'll make up for it in required tip and tax - not to mention you can guarantee the waiter knows his tip is set no matter how good or bad he is. read more

Do yourself a favor - drive to Arlington and go to the Melting Pot. This place is much more expensive than the melting pot, the food is not as good, and they still seem like it's opening weekend from a service perspective (our waiter was nice, but clueless...forgot to put in drink orders, couldn't really articulate his thoughts, etc). On the plus, it is in a cool speak easy like basement location, BUT with really poor ventilation (prepare for watering eyes the entire time). There were vents above us that didn't seem to be working, but after every table around us complained they seemed to finally start working...seems like either a poor management or maintenance issue. For a $300 dinner, you should expect better. read more
