Ok we came here for ice cream but it was really hard not getting anything else in here. They have chocolates, fudge, and caramel apples as well as the ice cream and it all looked amazing! I got the chocolate and death by chocolate ice cream and both were awesome! For two scoops they give you a hefty scoop so it's definitely worth the price. My hubby got the mango sherbet and he loved it. They have so many different flavor options it is hard to choose from! It also makes a huge difference that it is all made in house so it adds that extra umph to the taste! We spent a pretty penny on the snacks, but the chocolate and most of the food was made in house. So, because of that I'm willing to support a local business and pay the prices. Excellent stop for some sweets to charge up that energy after hiking. I really like the fact that there are multi variety of scoop size you can choose from: kiddie size, kiddie adult, regular scoop and double scoop ( check out the pics for menu and size prices) there are plenty of flavors to choose from. Unfortunately for me, some of the favors were out including mocha almond fudge and some of the other coffee favors. I got a caramel apple too. They also have a variety of candies to choose from. Not to be missed. Loved this stop for ice cream. It was absolutely delicious. The ice cream is homemade and has been around for 40 years. I've been to several ice cream places and this is one of the best tasting ice creams I've tried. I ordered a mint n chip. Grand Lake is a small mountain town, worth a visit if you're in the area. Also liked how they gave plastic wrap so ice cream isn't dripping out of your cone. If I could do it over I'd grab an ice cream cone upon arrival to Grand Lake, and then order another cone on the way out. read more

Say YES to ICE CREAM in Grand Lake! You know when the Ice cream is yummy when there is a line of families and pets out the door and spilling onto the sidewalk, walkway and landscaping. Walking from shop to shop there are lots of ice cream stops but we enjoyed a quick rest at GLC. They had a lovely bench in the shade and a perfect space for us to relax with our dog. We ordered single scoops of Moose Tracks and Peanut butter Fudge Ice creams in a waffle cone. Our 11 year old dog also enjoyed the dipped large dog bone treat while we ate out Ice cream in the shade. Be aware ... the scoop was huge .. it was more like a scoop and 1/2 or 2 scoops. Portions are huge but none went to waste. their chocolates and caramel apples looks yummy to. The prices are a bit high, but you have to take inconsideration the location! There's not many ice cream shops around. There's a bit selection. I ordered butter pecan with a waffle cone. They sell ice cream and chocolate here. They hand make their chocolate here, and have a variety of chocolates (e.g. turtles, peanut butter cups, dipped oreos). This little place is open seasonally & there is typically a line, totally worth the wait! My favorite is a caramel apple with caramel, white chocolate & dark chocolate drizzle. Visited this little shop in Grand Lake twice during our stay in Colorado. Both times, I had ice cream. First time, I had peanut butter and second time, I had cookies and cream. Both were excellent! We tried the homemade peanut butter cups as well (delish!). Ice cream is served in a cup, cone, or chocolate-dipped cone. They have many, many different flavors and even have to mark off a few as the day goes by and they run out of some favorites. There is fat-free and gluten-free ice cream options as well. There was a line outside the door both times we came to Grand Lake Chocolates. The workers took treat orders quickly and got everyone through the line as fast as they could. Grand Lake is a lovely little town at the southern base of the Rocky Mountain National Park. After we had our ice cream, we walked around town enjoying the sights. read more

Went out of our way in the rain to come to this ice cream shop. Server handed my 12 yo and 6 yo their cones and told the 12 yo to be careful as his scoop was uneven. She should have warned the 6 yo, however, as her scoop was barely on the cone. As my daughter turned towards me, her scoop immediately plopped right off the cone onto the counter. The server said "oh yeah, that happens all the time with those cones" and stared at me as if she expected me to scoop the thing off the counter, put it back on the cone and give it back to my daughter! She made no move to help clean it up. I had to get her another scoop - in a cup this time. I was charged for 3 ice creams. Yep. $12 for two single-scoop ice creams. When we actually were able to get something, they didn't have caramel apples ready (it's 2:00 and they just opened) and were less than nice about it.
