We popped in here while walking around Estes! It was a great experience. We had kiddos in our group and the staff at the taffy shop were so kind and attentive. They even let them touch some of the taffy before it was stretched, which was so interactive and fun. There are so many flavors to choose from and walking around the shop choosing was memorable and sweet (literally). read more

We went in expecting to buy the little one a few pieces of cinnamon taffy, her favorite, and ended up being a pound (which we do not need!). There is a great selection of different flavors and we were too weak to resist. We did not count but there has to be at least a couple of dozen. We probably spent about $100 in taffy only for the cashier to be rude to us while we were checking out. And added an 18% tip to the bill on top of the taffy price? Not sure how this place has such good reviews with the outrageous prices and rude customer service. read more

Love taffy? Then this is the place to go. It's soft, silky, and shiny candy is full of flavor without that salty taste like some can be. I just stopped this on a whim with a friend of mine and decided to try it. I'm glad we did. We stopped by on a Saturday and I just wished the cashier was a little bit nicer. She had a bit of an attitude when my friend asked a question, but I'll still give the shop 5 stars because of the variety and taste. read more

This is one of two highly recommended salt water taffy shops in Estes Park, and I saw why immediately. We walked in and I was blown away by all the flavor options. 50 different flavors! Also as we stood watching the taffy get made in the window, we noticed a ton of dead bugs and a live fly all over the inside of the window sill. While in Estes Park, one of the hardest decisions you might have to make is to decide what candy store to visit. If you love Salt Water Taffy, than Purple Mountain is your holy grail. This taffy is out of t his world delicious. It has been a few weeks since I got back from Colorado and I miss that taffy so much. It was so fresh and delicious. It simply cannot be beat. With so many flavors, it was too easy to fill a bag full. Flavors ranged from the classics all to more interesting flavors such as huckleberry and molasses. My favorite though was the vanilla bean which actually had real specks of vanilla bean. Oh man, those were so good. Seriously, stop by Purple Mountain. If anything, you get a free piece to try just for coming in. You will leave with a bag though because that one piece will get you hooked. read more

Taffy tastes old. The cinnamon taffy is over Flavored and burns your mouth when eating. Have to throw out @17.99 a pound All other flavors are to strong or have a funny taste Several other stores in Estes Park sell the taffy. The owner is also very unfriendly. read more

Best taffy I've encountered to date. So much softer than I ever imagined taffy could be, great selection of flavors, polite and friendly staff. I'm embarrassed to say that my wife and I ate our whole pound of candy in just a few days. Definitely buying more next time. Gotta stock up and bring it back home! read more

Taffy is tasty, but the last two times we've gone over half of the pieces would stick to the inside of the wrapper. This makes getting the taffy out of the wrapper without them becoming a total monstrosity nearly impossible. Each taffy you have a 50/50 chance of being pleased or frustrated. It's quite a fun game really! :) Try your luck! Or don't... maybe I'm just unlucky. read more

I really wanted to like this taffy! But it is just mediocre/average for me. I will say I prefer taffy that has a bit more "chew" to it. The taffy here is super smooth and easy to chew. So if that's you're thing, you'll probably like it more than I did. The flavor was also a little lacking for me. Staff was very friendly though! read more

Favorite taffy shop in Estes Park and there are ALOT of taffy shops downtown. This store has a lot of delicious flavors from sour to fruity to creamy and chocolaty. The taffy also saves well as I have bought taffy at other stores in town and the taffy becomes hard after a week or so. However, this taffy stays soft fresh and chewy for a long time. I highly recommend trying this shop as they sell small quantities to large quantities and you can mix and match as many flavors as you want. Great present for yourself and others. Honestly, I could go for some right now. read more

When you have that many taffy shops to choose from, service is everything. We went in as a group and my husband started a conversation with the counter help. She was less than friendly. He, being the person he is, tried again to ask her a question about the taffy machine which is for show only and she responded rather rudely about the taffy not being for sale- which has nothing to do with what he asked. There's nothing special about the shop, no great specialty flavors, just bad attitude. read more

Best place for taffy in Estes Park!! They not only have the biggest selection, and store, but the taffy is BOMB!! We were there for 3 days and made sure to go each day! Brought some home for friends and family and they now know how amazing fresh taffy is!! There are tons of candy shops on Estes and a hundred places to spend your money! Ok, I finally tried it. I put it off because this place looks just a little too "perfect" as an "original" taffy store in a very touristy town.... but I caved in today and tried them out and WOW. I see now that I have never had decent taffy before, and have missed out all these years. The caramel peanut butter and pecan ones are my favorites so far, but I grabbed a bunch of flavors to sample and have only tried a few so far.... But I have tried enough to give them 5 stars already! If you are at all tempted to try them, go ahead and try it. If nothing else, poke your head in and see what they have for the free sample. :) read more

If you don't know the song Laffy Taffy I'm sorry because that's all I could think of walking into this place; that and how much I wanted the taffy in my mouth. They had so many flavors! I grabbed a bag and started filling it up. The taffy was flavorful, soft and delicious. Only con was how expensive it was, but it's a tourist trap so I expected as much. Thank goodness they had a sample of the day to taste test or I would not have bought their taffy! It is by far the best taffy I have ever tasted. It is the freshest, softest, most flavorful taffy. The Bing Cherry Vanilla had me at HELLOOOO! Delicious! The unfortunate thing for me is that I live in Ohio and yes, I can order online but not all the amazing flavors that they have to offer! Went in specifically for black licorice Taffy because the store I usually buy from was out. Thank goodness I put a handful of buttered popcorn Taffy in because the black licorice taffy was bland, had very little flavor & not worth the $13 I spent. The buttery popcorn was well flavored & good, soft and delicious tho. As good as it is 10 pieces of good taffy was not worth what I spent! Disappointed that I didn't buy from a different shop. The is the BEST taffy I have ever tasted. So creamy it melts in your mouth, not overly sweet like many I have tried. They all taste pretty good except for the cherry. It reminds me too much of cherry-flavored cough drops, so I wouldn't get that again. There was a line when we got there, and it was out the door by the time we reached the front. Inside is small up front, but there's more seating around the corner plus plenty outside along the riverwalk area. The place was clean, the staff efficient and friendly, and it's a cute spot to sit. Large coffee menu, plus sandwiches, toasts, and snacks made fresh to order. Seasonal coffees -- tried a campfire-type and a coconut-type. Both fine. Not bad, not the best I've had, and not something I'd rush back for. Breakfast sandwich on a croissant -- my biggest gripe. Utterly dry and almost tasteless. The sausage, egg, and cheese were gas-station ready-to-go territory. Their bread comes in fresh-baked, but they ran the croissant through the toaster and torched it, which only made it drier. A breakfast sandwich should be juicy, cheesy, buttery -- this one needed a sauce just to get it down. Sandwich on sourdough -- a little better, but still just okay. Fine place if you're already in the area, and the coffee's fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Would recommend, would not return.

It's such a cute combo coffee + stationery store, and they have a really nice seating area upstairs. I stopped by again this weekend, got a latte, and it was delicious as usual. Took it upstairs and just relaxed for a bit with my friend, perfect post-hike vibe. I was here back in September too and noticed they've upgraded the upstairs seating since then, so it feels even nicer and more refreshed now. Always consistent, always a great stop when I'm in Estes Park.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

Puppies are welcome too:) I sampled some of their beers, and picked the amber which was GABF award, good one! My friend had a lighter beer and she was happy with it. Staff were friendly, gave good recommendation, and their beer samples.

Their charcuterie options were also abundant but we opted for the Colorado wild game sausage board. So worth it to try some exotic meats including elk, wild boar & blueberry, and the most interesting in my opinion...the pheasant and rattlesnake sausage. All were flavorful and went well w the beer cheese and jam but I personally loved the elk sausage the most.

The staff is outstanding--everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience. You can tell they really care about what they're building here. The wine selection is excellent, and their flights are a steal at just $14. They also offer meads, mulled cider, and an entirely new food menu that pairs perfectly with the drinks. There's clearly a lot of thought going into the experience now. We also heard a new deck area is coming soon, plus plans for a paella night--which honestly sounds amazing and gives us even more reason to come back. If you haven't been to Snowy Peaks recently, it's absolutely worth another visit. They're doing great things and it's becoming a must-stop spot in Estes Park.
