Ladies & Gentleman I destroyed my meal today at Grand Lux Cafe. Came in for lunch and had the Buffalo Chicken Rolls & Chicken Jambalaya and wow it really hit the spot. OK, it's not the first dining experience I've had here but I really needed a great meal and the GLC delivered the goods today. Folks when I'm in Vegas I'm normally dining here a few times. It's great food, open late and has exceptional coffee in the morning. When you're needing a comfort food meal this is the only place in Vegas that can guarantee you that experience. Best chicken salad sandwich you'll dine on. Sensational appetizers with my two favorites being the mini cheeseburgers & buffalo chicken rolls and FRANKS new favorite entree is the Jambalaya. Benefits for gamblers it's open late for when you need a recharge. The hidden gem is the coffee counter in the morning. NO LINE ( don't tell anybody ) plus its coffee is robust & delicious. Starbucks next door is 50 people deep and GLC not only has no line but the pastry's are exceptional. Also note you can get desert at the coffee area as well all day & night. On our latest trip here for another late dinner, we began with fine Sourdough Bread & Butter, along with a Bowl of milky Cream of Chicken Soup with Mushrooms. The bread was porous; the soup very creamy. My entree of Salisbury Chopped Steak was medium well and very large. The restaurant is so huge that there was no wait on a Sat night despite it being crowded inside. Spicy vodka pasta - 5/5: Vodka pasta is my go to and this is one of the better ones I've ate. My friend and I were staying at The Palazzo and came here to eat lunch around 11 am. Ambiance: Decor was nice, warm tones that made it feel cozy. Seating was comfortable. Service: We were seated right away and given menus by the hostess. The dining area we were in was full, but not crazy packed. A couple of minutes after we sat down, our server greeted us and asked if we wanted to put in any drink or starter orders. We knew what we wanted, so we put in our order. Got our drinks within a couple minutes and got our food in less than 10 minutes. Food & Drink: One of my favorite things from the meal was my drink! I got a "Passion Fruit Ginger Crush" So delicious! Hub got a Stella and I got an Atomic duck IPA. Hub got chicken spring rolls again, his favorite at now 12.50 and I tried for the first time some potato spring rolls and asked for no bacon. Had a late dinner with Maddy after seeing Shim Lee. This cafe is an upscale Cheesecake Factory (which we love) they brought fresh hot bread and butter to start. I was today year's old when I learned that Grand Lux and Cheesecake were the same family. In my defense living in Vegas the longer I've lived here the less I frequent the Strip. I do remember coming here years ago post an evening at Tao. This dining experience occurred post an event at the Sphere. We arrived just in time to order from the Happy Hour Menu. We sat immediately in the bar at a high top. Everything on the menu food wise is $12.50. A member in my party said those are not the normal prices but this is the Vegas Strip so to be expected and I thought still fair given the amount of food you receive. We were even given complimentary bread. I ordered the lettuce wraps as my meal. Can't really go wrong with that. It was a large size and enough to package up leftovers. I tried the butter cake, a new to me item. It was good, topped with ice cream and whipped cream. What stood out to me was the service. The wait staff is amazing, attentive, and on top of it. We ordered the chicken spring rolls and it was very disappointing. The spring roll filling tasted more like ginger chicken spring rolls with a heavy heavy flavor of ginger. It also came with a bowl of just shredded carrots with no dressing or any type of sauce except for the sweet chili sauce for the spring rolls. If you not a fan of ginger, skip this appetizer. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our group ordered the shrimp pasta, salmon BBQ, jambalaya, and another Alfredo pasta dish. Need a coffee and they have a never ending pour. Service is usually great (pro tip: if you have a Sapphire or above players card you get priority seating). There were seven wonton nachos on my plate with a scoop of what was supposed to be Asian fried rice, but had corn and black beans in it and did not have any Asian flavor. My favorite thing I ate was the ranch dressing. Don't sleep on the ranch dressing.! This spot is always chalk full of good options and attentive service any time I come with my husband or friends for a dinner before a show or event on the strip. Our server Christopher was super friendly and the food was delish! My chicken fried chicken was perfectly crispy and the sausage gravy was the perfect combination of salty and savory. The short rib pasta was cooked al dente and the short rib was fork tender. Sauce on it was not too thick and offered great flavor! The half rack of ribs were tender and good as well with good smoky hints off the bone. I am not a huge fan of dessert, but my husband and friends love the butter cake! It was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside complemented with a strawberry glaze. Everything we ordered was satisfying and worth the price for quality. The breakfast we had at this surprisingly generic looking restaurant in the Venetian probably warranted more than 4 stars but I only give 5 for something extraordinary so take that for what it's worth. The front desk is pretty indifferent but there was no wait and the waiters are very attentive and kind. We never had to search for a coffee or water refill. My dear friend and coworker had the eggs and sourdough toast with hashbrowns and I had an egg white omelet my choice of 4 fillings: spinach, asparagus, mushrooms and Havarti and it was likely the only healthy-ish thing I ate this week with tomatoes subbed in for toast. We came here to eat after the BSB concert and I'm so glad this place is open 24/7. It's a short walk after surviving the exit concert crowd. We were starving and this restaurant seems to be a popular spot post concert because all I saw were people in white. Our waiter was prompt, quickly brought over water because our voices were hoarse from singing and consuming some alcoholic beverages. We ordered on the coffee shop side and the full size sandwiches (one ham and one turkey) were pretty good and reasonably priced for the Las Vegas Strip ($10 and $11).
