Seabury at Friendship Terrace is a nice place to live, except for the quality of the food. The food…read moreis so awful that dinner conversation is often limited to complaints about the food, not the usual dinner stuff. They think nothing of serving potatoes, rice, and pasta in the same meal, meats are tough and have no gravy/sauce, instead of broccoli florets they serve the stems, and spices or herbs are never used. We have three menus. A weekly menu handed out at the beginning of each week, a menu from which we choose our food at lunch and dinner time, and the unnamed menu consisting of whatever is available, which is often not what was listed in either of the other two menus. The waiters are excellent, friendly and helpful, and even they recognize the poor quality of the food. The food situation is very unfortunate, since the place could not have a better location. Two and a half blocks from Metro and Whole Foods, two blocks from the public library and CVS, also about the same distance from Target (which also has a CVS, so we have two within walking distance), The Container Store, and Ace Hardware; still very much a residential area with 100-year-old houses that have gorgeous gardens and huge, ancient trees. Several churches are within walking distance, as well as a few restaurants (Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican). Residents are quite diverse and friendly. Some of them have been here for years and are always cordial and helpful. I wish they would do something about the food! My understanding is it used to be good, and when I first came it was still fairly so. I have no idea what happened.

I've toured several senior residences in the DMV with a view toward my golden years. Seabury has a classic (and classy :) ) design and modern amenities. The constant care of the building is visible in freshly painted corridors and apartments, clean and fluffy carpets and polished wood. The apartments are cozy and bright due to fresh fixtures and floor to ceiling windows and have great walk-in closets.Workers were on duty during my tour making the latest updates! The residents seem relaxed and content enjoying gardening, soaking up sun (there's a sunroof!), walking around the lovely residential neighborhood and gathering in groups for games or friendly chats. Scheduled of interesting activities are posted everywhere. I'd love to live there.

Our friends lived across the street so we knew the neighborhood very well. By recommendation of a friend, we found Katrina Schymik Abjornson with the Czuba Group. Katrina was extremely quick in response and guided us through the process. Within 24 hours of viewing the house by ourselves, we met with Katrina and had an offer on the table. During that time, she was extremely responsive to all of our questions, which were a lot! Katrina is warm, smart, and extremely professional. She guided us through the process and explained to us all the peaks and pits of every single aspect so that we could make the best decision. We were able to move up the closing date, and because Katrina was on vacation, Catherine Czuba assisted us with our closing. Catherine was such a pleasure to work with as well - very warm, enthusiastic, professional and smart. The entire time we worked with the Czuba Group I felt I was in the best possible hands and I'm grateful for the services they provided us. I highly recommended working with the Czuba Group.

First,…read moreand no disrespect to anyone, giving a rating of [5] on any type of review requires, is incumbent on the author to provide the written dialogue to support such a high level of opinion. Nice appliances and a friendly staff do not make [5] stars and really reads as a cant when it is critically analyzed. The facts are/include when a person/s show up to rent and actually have the ability to pay {or their parents...} the management company has done their due diligence, so students cannot be discriminated against of course. We now know D.C tenant law/processes a little better after this. My advice to anyone who takes the time to read this is document the behaviors/issues so to "memorialize" them, this in fact was critical in the cases of the [two] neighbors who were finally evicted prior to the federal marshals throwing their ***** out! The on-site and district management was very supportive and worked with us throughout these "dark" times to give us updates on the legal processes and also reimbursed us for rent and property damaged in the flood. Yes, most of the management and staff are very professional and actually follow-through on requests and are responsive to both verbal and written requests/concerns. Life on the 5th floor is now back to "normal" we are GLAD to report! This is a great location for us with all the "amenities close as well as work. Most everyone who lives here seems respectful and aware that they live in tight quarters and management/concierge staff are usually quick to resolve those small issues like people parking illegally and the wipes being empty in the fitness room. That all being said, and considering the "nature" of an apartment/condo living arrangements, this is a solid [4] stars. Thanks Juliana, Rocio, Lindsey, Terrance, Nordia, Grace, Innocence, Santos....!

I have been watching this lady sit in my grandmother's chair and watching Mom on TV since 11:46. My grandmother does not watch TV during the day, and even text me to hide the remotes the next time the aid is supposed to be there. She also told me that the aid went upstairs to look around, even though my granny, her bed, her clothes, and bathroom are all on the first floor - this upset my granny so much that she has talked about it since it happened... such a cruel thing to do for an Alzheimer's patient... My grandmother even got out of her bed, let her dogs out, and got back in bed without the aid even moving. I sure hope Mom reruns are enjoyable because I will be complaining of the care to Inova and anyone else who recommends Life Matters. I have been calling Life Matters to cancel any further visits for more than 30 minutes with no answer. Update - I finally reached someone. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the day and they would offer a "free" day for the trouble. They called and told the lady to leave, which I watched happen remotely. I've never seen anyone move so fast in my life. I was told this isn't what is expected of aids, which I believe is true, but in my opinion, this woman was far too comfortable walking in and just sitting there watching TV to not do this regularly. Thankfully, I was able to see what was happening, and hopefully it won't happen to someone else.

I was managing my sister's care remotely from Missouri and could not remain in Arlington indefinitely after her surgery. The intake procedure was handled by an excellent social worker. While I was promised reasonable continuity of staff members going forward, instead we were assigned a different social worker for each subsequent follow up. Sadly, there was no continuity from one visit to the next. All I received was an email summarizing my sister's physician visit that I could easily have obtained, as medical POA, without paying $300+ for info I could have easily from the physicians' office directly. The geriatric care manager concept is a sound idea. However, attempting to effectuate it with no staff continuity devalues the service. This is a temp service, not professional geriatric care management.
