If you love speed or a unique group activity, head to Grand Rapids Grand Prix. Three of my buddies and I went on a Saturday evening to celebrate a birthday. Signing waivers online in seconds, we each paid $55 for three races, a head sock (required if you use their helmets), and tax. Each race is 6-7 minutes and most of us did laps around 30 seconds. After watching a safety video about how to not die by crashing into sharp corners, we loaded up and raced! The course is two levels and fun! Place is pretty awesome. Prices are good per race and track is fun. They have food and beverages with a two beer limit lol if you're a driver. Building also has axe throwing but a tiny small area for it. We drove an hour and 40 minutes for it and I would definitely do it again. read more

This place is fantastic! Not only is the track super fun and the carts are fast, the employees are wonderful too! I, unfortunately, had an incident where I crashed into a barrier pretty hard and damaged it, which normally retails for $130. However, the guys said they believed it may have been previously damaged, didn't make me pay anything, and even let me take the barrier home free as a trophy!!! I thought it was hilarious and so cool, of course I felt terrible for not being more careful but everyone was so understanding and kind. Just went with my parents. Me and my dad raced similar go karts (faster than normal and without power sterring maybe 4 to 6 years ago) but it was my moms first time with these karts. The staff was very friendly and informative. We all did 3 races. The first two races was just us, the last included 2 strangers. It was all so much fun. In-between races all the employees that had a minute were more than happy to talk about strategy and their experience and best times. I enjoyed each race more than last and I would've done more if I could, but without any power steering your arms get a little sore. Good think in races you buy for your account be held over and used at any later date. For example, we bought 3 races for $50 and used them all. We could've bought 7 races for $100 and after racing 3 times, come back in a week or month and use some of the other races we didn't use initially. Definitely want to return, don't know when though. My wife signed us up and filled out the waiver for my son last night. We got here when they opened. They had a corporate event. She said something about 1/2 hour. Difficult to understand her. We left. I got my tires rotated, bought a coffe at Starbucks, got a haircut and came back an hour later. Now she tells me hey are here till 2pm... it's 12:36 now and I have to go to work. We drove here from Kalamazoo. An hour each way. We spent $100 killing time and this is what we get. They should have had something on the website saying there was a buyout today. Lame. This was fun as a one-time experience but it's not something I would come back and do again. My chief complaint is that the track is way too short for the speed of the carts. The carts fly and are really impressive but you can't really enjoy them fully as the track is crammed into a space that doesn't allow you to get up to speed. As a group of three it felt too tight - I can't imagine what it would be like on a busy day with more carts on track. This would be a blast and absolutely a 5 star experience if the track were 3 times longer than it is. The front of house staff was really nice and friendly and it's a well kept environment, but I won't be back. read more

We went with a party of 14 here for a bachelor party. We ordered 5 pizzas and the pizza was better then expected. It was sorta like a thin crust but not crunchy. 7/10. Waiting for the go carts was horrendous though. We waiting 2 hours to have our first race. It was so bad that instead of doing 3 like we signed up for, we only did 2. If your going to try something for a party, I do not recommend this place unless you want your whole day gone for just two 12 lap races. Disappointed to say the least. read more

Looked cool, but don't show up anywhere close to closing time and think you my get in cause the staff is not having that at all. We traveled from Kalamazoo, but they couldn't care less. Just said they were all booked up for the night and see ya. It was a bummer. We certainly should have gotten there earlier for sure. But I felt they were on the rude side on how they handled us. The Karts are fun and fast, but they have a lot of issues to address as a new business. Overall the facility is nice and clean and the food is decent and a fairly priced. I would recommend some background music, a PA system to announce seating for future heats, and more clear track instructions such as warning lighting. The full experience has been less than good. The staff is rather unprofessional and never seem to know what's going on. Half the heats I was placed in we're wrong, and in my last visit I waited over two hours for my first ride as several groups were bumped in front of us. Several customers were rightfully upset as you would think first come first serve would apply at $18 a ride. Overall it is fun, but be prepared to wait, and take it upon yourself to keep track of what is going on as the instruction probably will not be clear. Also, keep your receipt if you buy multiple rides and do not use them, the record keeping of this is poor. read more

Staff was incredibly helpful. These karts are serious! They were surprisingly fast, and it's truly a skill based race. This was a huge adrenaline rush. The food was really good too, which I did not expect. I would definitely recommend this place. It would make a great place to go as a group, work, friends, party etc. read more
