The Grand Theatre is nice and it is hard to find a bad seat. It's not extremely disability friendly because most seat can only be accessed by climbing stairs. The seats aren't real comfy either. But the shows are amazing and the acoustics are great.

    EMPIRE OF THE SUN !!!!

I came to see Empire of the Sun here and it was such an amazing show! Every seat is a great one, even on the sides. The audio quality is superb. The bass kicks you in the chest while the vocals and instruments keep your dancing at your seat. There are multiple bars on each level, so you will never go thirsty.

Was here recently to watch Killer Queen and had a blast!. The house was packed! Dynamic band that had the audience engaged. Never had bad seating at this venue and we attend at least once a month. From ticket givers to ticket takers, security, drink servers, and ushers, the service is A+ I have even seen it where if Grand Theatre believes you're in for an ear blasting experience, you can get ear plugs from all around the venue! Great place to see a show. My main source of entertainment!

We had another opportunity to watch a show at Grand Sierra's Grand Theater (Avatar the Last Airbender's 20th Anniversary Concert). Unlike the last time we saw this show at Grand Sierra, this visit went smoothly; most of the security just lingered in the shadows of the theater; barely seen and not heard. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert uninterrupted, bought way too much souvenirs, dined at one of the casino's restaurants and stayed in one of the rooms in the hotel. We had a perfectly enjoyable evening.

This would be a 5 star review if I still got my comps, lol. Quality/Quantity - We have seen many shows and concerts here; so I am even more surprised that I have not done a review. Today's annual show is "Santa Epic Holiday Show." Sadly, I did not get comped this year. Guess I am NOT losing enough $$. In the last two years, I received two free show tickets. But as a local I still qualify for the BOGO tickets; buy one get one free; or two tickets for the price of one ($30 for two tickets). Atmosphere - Almost all seats were good. The theater is in the Grand Sierra Resort, which is still my favorite resort, even without the comps. More and more events; see website. Service - Self service. Well the box office was good. They emailed GSR to see if I could get comped tickets. Sadly GSR said NO. And going through security was very smooth. Price - $30 for two tickets. Local promotion. Inexpensive show tickets. Owner Comment - Congrats to GSR success since 2006. Coming soon: A 10,000-seat arena that would become the new home of the University of Nevada men's basketball team. The arena is planned to open in 2027.

E40. We had seats on the end of the row.

Absolutely amazing small venue. We went and saw E40 first. He put on an awesome show. Absolutely had a blast at the theatre. Then the next show we saw i won tickets to on Instagram for Cypress hill with Reno Philharmonic. That show was absolutely AMAZING!! Our seats were right in the middle. A little above the set up for the effects. Highly recommend seeing any show here. It makes it feel more personal because it only sits about 3000 people. Plus with certain shows you get a discount into the night club if you want to go there for the after party.

First time coming to the Grand Theatre. The auditorium is a good sized venue. They offer drink service while you're seated. In addition, to drinks and snacks at the concession areas. Definitely, a fun place to watch a concert.

The venue itself is great - Staff is really great. Our seats were behind the sound guy and the manager came by and offered to move us closer to the stage until the opening act was over, and they could move the sound equipment. It was great that it was even offered. We saw a concert Friday and then Saturday. Great Sound, great acts. The Grand theatre is clean, with comfy seating (and drink holders) They have drink service throughout the set (unobtrusive) I like the booths with tables, but they must be even MORE expensive. Security was on top of it. They kept drunk people from being stupid and wouldn't let them stand in front of people who bought seats up front. (Thank you!) They have 2 bathrooms on either side (private) You can't go out once you're in. They have a nice beverage bar (they need red bull) and service was great. It's expensive but aren't all concerts these days? Very happy we went!

Seeing Marilyn Manson in your 20s in 2024: pregame 10 shots, mosh pit, standing room only, general admission, know the opening acts but have only heard of Manson Seeing Marilyn Manson in your 40s in 2024: earplugs, front row VIP seats in case you need to sit, "Who the hell is Five Finger Death Punch?," babysit one drink, wore Manson t-shirts to high school in the late 90s Though the Grand Theater seats around 2,800 & has a stage larger than most venues, it almost has the feel of an intimate club where an up-and-comer might play, & I love that. For the MM show we attended, the first seven rows of seats were removed making the area general admission standing-room-only (and unofficially the mosh pit.) My peeps who bought those tickets had the time of their lives. A few of us purchased the "first row" of actual seats, & at eight rows back, the view was spectacular. Manson's visuals were simple, but electric, his vocals on point (as was the set list), & the acoustics crisp. Great event staff & security, reasonably-priced drinks, wouldn't hesitate to see another show at the Grand Theater.

12.24.23: For Christmas Eve, a friend and I went to Christmas in Space Cirque. I bought front row seats for a really great price and overall, it was worth it. I also included the in-theater bar/snack menu. As for the show itself, the main story line was a bit weak and confusing at times and I felt the music didn't always match the Christmas in "Space" theme. However, in general it was a great performance from beginning to end. All the performers are very talented and my favorite parts were the glow light show and the motorcycle act. Again for the price and it being Christmas Eve, it was a nice holiday out with my friend.

Date night at the grand Sierra! Went to chickie and Pete's for dinner and then went to a concert in the grand theater. We got there early as O don't like the Rush! The seats are comfortable. So if you want tickets for a popular show here, they are listed on Ticket masters with a hefty 'convenience' fee. So my wife just goes to the ticket counter at GSR to buy tickets. On a side not we watched Blues Traveller and Bighead Todd and the monsters. The blues traveler show was mediocre at best. However to my surprise big head Todd was just an amazing show. My wife and I used to listen to blues travelers when we were in college, and we look forward to them however the concert was quite disappointing. But we now have a new love for big head Todd...

    Cheers!

This theater is my favorite for concerts-there isn't a bad seat in the house! The sound is fantastic and it's always well organized. Cocktails served here are great! Recently saw Rodrigo Y Gabriela and the Temptations-both shows were fantastic!

Both are hosted by the husband and wife, duo of Chase and. Kayleigh. I saw the "nocturnal" show, and I loved it. . Chase is the MC, and he also does illusions from slieight of hand, to illusions such as cutting a woman from the audience in half without a box, and a great straitjacket, escape, ala, Harry Houdini. The jokes are fast and furious, and definitely adult oriented, there is a lot of interaction with the audience, and bringing audience members on stage. There's never a dull moment. The dancers are beautiful, and yes, a little provocative, but definitely not dirty. The show never slows down. It's a 90 minute show with a 15 minute intermission, and it's entertaining from the beginning until the end. The price for the show is very reasonable, but they get you with both the cocktails, and the snack bar for the theater. I bought a small thing of popcorn, and a 20 ounce soda, and I was out 16 bucks. That's a bit ridiculous. Other than that, the show was amazing. Thank you for a fantastic evening....

When we decided to go again for mini trip, everything felt off about the place. The wifi wasn't going in and out every 10 secs, they charged us a small fee of toilet paper, and towels. We were shock they do that, because when we arrived to the room they didn't have any stocked up for us. I'm disappointed, that they don't tell you about the fees and I understand it can be very busy, but wrong to charge guest, when it isn't our fault. Then we found hair in my salad, I got refund for my item and half off the bill. The manager apologized about the issue (Chicken n Pete's). This place has went down hill, safe to say we will not be back here anymore unless changes are made.

My family and I stayed at the GSR for 3 nights to attend a close family member's wedding -- the entire reason we made the trip to Reno. Here is what we encountered: The Room We arrived to a visibly dirty room that needed a thorough cleaning. There were stains on the furniture, walls, and bedding. No washcloths were available despite multiple requests to housekeeping -- they finally arrived on our last day, too late to be of any use. On our first night, a sticky substance on the bedding transferred to my clothing and permanently ruined both my pants and my belt. I have not been able to remove it despite multiple attempts. Pest & Safety Concerns We found a large unidentifiable bug in our room that we had to kill and dispose of ourselves. For the remaining nights of our stay we were uneasy and anxious about what else might be present while we slept. Marijuana Odors -- Every Single Day For all 3 days and nights, the hallways leading to our room reeked of strong marijuana. My 7-year-old son asked me about the smell every single time. No parent should have to have that conversation repeatedly because a hotel cannot enforce its own policies. Rude Guest Services When I called to request washcloths, instead of simply helping me, the agent chose to lecture me on the difference between a washcloth and a face cloth. It was condescending and completely unhelpful. The Pool -- And the Moment We Lost Forever At the pool, our server went on break and her replacement could not locate my payment card. The time we lost waiting caused us to leave late -- and we arrived at the wedding chapel just as guests were walking out. We missed our family member's wedding ceremony entirely. We had traveled to Reno for one reason, and because of this staff failure we did not get to witness it. That is something we will never be able to get back. Checkout & Aftermath When I raised all of these issues at the front desk before checking out, I was redirected, dismissed, and ultimately handed a business card with a vague promise that someone would follow up about my clothing. No apology. No acknowledgment of the bigger picture. No resolution. That was nearly 60 days ago. I have followed up in writing. I have heard nothing -- not a single word. I spent a significant amount of money at this property and was treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I would not recommend the GSR to anyone traveling with family, and especially not for any trip where something important is at stake. GSR -- my complaint is still open. You know how to reach me.

You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. They cut out approximately 1/2 of their senior menu, which is ridiculous. A lot of the locals come there and many are seniors the options on the menu amount to almost nothing for seniors now.. BRILLIANT SND THOUGHTFUL! Example on the regular breakfast menu they HAD a chicken fried steak it was a big chicken fried steak like all the other breakfast restaurants in the area now when you order that you get a small chicken fried steak, which was originally from the seniors menu a very downsized small chicken fried steak. Once again that chicken fried steak is not available on the senior menu instead they're using that small chicken fried steak for the regular menu. You're paying almost double and getting 1/2 of the value. CHEAP!! Also, throughout the casino, it always reeks of cigarettes smoke at one point I thought it was a very nice casino. Now I think it's rundown. Nobody really cares about anything. They're very few employees working the floor. Tatiana has a gentle but also firm touch and she incorporated sound healing and Jin shin energy work along with ashiatsu, which is Thai massage where she walked on my back and it felt amazing. Located off of Kietzke, you'll find a cute white building with a giant mural that says "Reno" on the back side. After parking in the parking lot located behind the building, you'll enter the back entrance into the lush courtyard where you'll see a black metal staircase to the right. The staircase will lead you to the Bliss Holistic Center. I have done yoga many times before, but this was the first time I was able to experience Buti. It felt like a mix of dancing, Pilates, yoga, and anger management. Perfect for all able bodies, and in my opinion, a great way to break out of one's shell to build confidence with their body. After the powerful yoga session, we were able to enjoy a peaceful sound bath given by Tatiana. The sound bath allowed us to go on a deep journey within, something we all need to do more often with this crazy world around us. With the sound baths you can also add mindful hands-on enhancements that will "help you sink deeper into your body allowing the mind to heart connection." Check out their website for their available classes, like Belly Dance Fusion, Sound Bath healing, Buti Yoga, Guided mediations, spa offerings, and more!
