    Killer Queen concert 2025
    Linda H.

Was here recently to watch Killer Queen and had a blast!. The house was packed! Dynamic band that had the audience engaged. Never had bad seating at this venue and we attend at least once a month. From ticket givers to ticket takers, security, drink servers, and ushers, the service is A+ I have even seen it where if Grand Theatre believes you're in for an ear blasting experience, you can get ear plugs from all around the venue! Great place to see a show. My main source of entertainment!

We had another opportunity to watch a show at Grand Sierra's Grand Theater (Avatar the Last Airbender's 20th Anniversary Concert). Unlike the last time we saw this show at Grand Sierra, this visit went smoothly; most of the security just lingered in the shadows of the theater; barely seen and not heard. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert uninterrupted, bought way too much souvenirs, dined at one of the casino's restaurants and stayed in one of the rooms in the hotel. We had a perfectly enjoyable evening.

This would be a 5 star review if I still got my comps, lol. Quality/Quantity - We have seen many shows and concerts here; so I am even more surprised that I have not done a review. Today's annual show is "Santa Epic Holiday Show." Sadly, I did not get comped this year. Guess I am NOT losing enough $$. In the last two years, I received two free show tickets. But as a local I still qualify for the BOGO tickets; buy one get one free; or two tickets for the price of one ($30 for two tickets). Atmosphere - Almost all seats were good. The theater is in the Grand Sierra Resort, which is still my favorite resort, even without the comps. More and more events; see website. Service - Self service. Well the box office was good. They emailed GSR to see if I could get comped tickets. Sadly GSR said NO. And going through security was very smooth. Price - $30 for two tickets. Local promotion. Inexpensive show tickets. Owner Comment - Congrats to GSR success since 2006. Coming soon: A 10,000-seat arena that would become the new home of the University of Nevada men's basketball team. The arena is planned to open in 2027.

E40. We had seats on the end of the row.

Absolutely amazing small venue. We went and saw E40 first. He put on an awesome show. Absolutely had a blast at the theatre. Then the next show we saw i won tickets to on Instagram for Cypress hill with Reno Philharmonic. That show was absolutely AMAZING!! Our seats were right in the middle. A little above the set up for the effects. Highly recommend seeing any show here. It makes it feel more personal because it only sits about 3000 people. Plus with certain shows you get a discount into the night club if you want to go there for the after party.

First time coming to the Grand Theatre. The auditorium is a good sized venue. They offer drink service while you're seated. In addition, to drinks and snacks at the concession areas. Definitely, a fun place to watch a concert.

The venue itself is great - Staff is really great. Our seats were behind the sound guy and the manager came by and offered to move us closer to the stage until the opening act was over, and they could move the sound equipment. It was great that it was even offered. We saw a concert Friday and then Saturday. Great Sound, great acts. The Grand theatre is clean, with comfy seating (and drink holders) They have drink service throughout the set (unobtrusive) I like the booths with tables, but they must be even MORE expensive. Security was on top of it. They kept drunk people from being stupid and wouldn't let them stand in front of people who bought seats up front. (Thank you!) They have 2 bathrooms on either side (private) You can't go out once you're in. They have a nice beverage bar (they need red bull) and service was great. It's expensive but aren't all concerts these days? Very happy we went!

Seeing Marilyn Manson in your 20s in 2024: pregame 10 shots, mosh pit, standing room only, general admission, know the opening acts but have only heard of Manson Seeing Marilyn Manson in your 40s in 2024: earplugs, front row VIP seats in case you need to sit, "Who the hell is Five Finger Death Punch?," babysit one drink, wore Manson t-shirts to high school in the late 90s Though the Grand Theater seats around 2,800 & has a stage larger than most venues, it almost has the feel of an intimate club where an up-and-comer might play, & I love that. For the MM show we attended, the first seven rows of seats were removed making the area general admission standing-room-only (and unofficially the mosh pit.) My peeps who bought those tickets had the time of their lives. A few of us purchased the "first row" of actual seats, & at eight rows back, the view was spectacular. Manson's visuals were simple, but electric, his vocals on point (as was the set list), & the acoustics crisp. Great event staff & security, reasonably-priced drinks, wouldn't hesitate to see another show at the Grand Theater.

12.24.23: For Christmas Eve, a friend and I went to Christmas in Space Cirque. I bought front row seats for a really great price and overall, it was worth it. I also included the in-theater bar/snack menu. As for the show itself, the main story line was a bit weak and confusing at times and I felt the music didn't always match the Christmas in "Space" theme. However, in general it was a great performance from beginning to end. All the performers are very talented and my favorite parts were the glow light show and the motorcycle act. Again for the price and it being Christmas Eve, it was a nice holiday out with my friend.

Date night at the grand Sierra! Went to chickie and Pete's for dinner and then went to a concert in the grand theater. We got there early as O don't like the Rush! The seats are comfortable. So if you want tickets for a popular show here, they are listed on Ticket masters with a hefty 'convenience' fee. So my wife just goes to the ticket counter at GSR to buy tickets. On a side not we watched Blues Traveller and Bighead Todd and the monsters. The blues traveler show was mediocre at best. However to my surprise big head Todd was just an amazing show. My wife and I used to listen to blues travelers when we were in college, and we look forward to them however the concert was quite disappointing. But we now have a new love for big head Todd...

    Cheers!

This theater is my favorite for concerts-there isn't a bad seat in the house! The sound is fantastic and it's always well organized. Cocktails served here are great! Recently saw Rodrigo Y Gabriela and the Temptations-both shows were fantastic!

This is a great venue to see concerts. However, the size of the venue does make a difference of whether you are seeing the performance or in the performance. You get a great view from anywhere and the sound quality is great. The acoustics of this indoor venue does get loud so I don't forget the earplugs. The interior is beautifully decorated to accommodate a variety of acts. Only one location setup for merch which can jam up the entrance. A few bars setup with a few theater snacks available (minus the popcorn). On this night, I enjoyed a date night with the fabulous Diana Ross - The Music Legacy Tour 2023. Concert was superb as she walks you through her childhood to stardom. Old mixed with new, Motown mixed with jazz...it was over 90 minutes of music you can dance and sing to as you journey through the years with her. The production is well done with lots to see and entertain you throughout. Definitely a must see.

Had a great time at the Grand Theatre to see The Cult. It was our first time coming to the Grand Theatre. Got front row VIP tickets and well worth it. Looking behind us I can't imagine a bad seat in the house. The stage is HUGE and there is plenty of room in the seats for comfort. Also room between the aisles so you don't have to move too much to let people through. Got in early due to VIP and the ticket booth staff was very helpful. They do have all the dates/seating charts on the counter for future events so you can buy direct and save the online fees. Security was also helpful and polite. It was easy getting through check in, clear bag policy so you just need a quick walk through the sensor machine and into the lobby you go. Bar to the right is fully stocked, bar staff was fun and efficient. No food sold in the Theatre. Bathrooms were clean and stocked, attendant was close making sure it stayed clean. Just the nicest people working the event. The Theatre sits to the far right of the property, just past the Lex nightclub with a huge parking lot just outside of it. Self park so easy in and out. Well done for location. Cold Cave opened for The Cult, first time hearing of them, great music. the sound was great, stage sits up about 4ish feet from the floor so everyone can see. Great experience for our first time there and would be happy to come back for another event!

A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!

To their credit, they arranged accommodations at another hotel, although it was not comparable to the one we had reserved. Wanting to give them another opportunity, we booked another stay this year. Unfortunately, the experience was even more disappointing. Our check-in was delayed until 5:00 p.m. because the room was not ready, despite the advertised 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Once we entered the room, we discovered the air conditioning was not functioning properly and the desk lamp was broken. We called for assistance at approximately 5:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. after no one responded. Someone finally arrived around 11:00 p.m., after we had already gone to bed. The lamp was replaced, but the air conditioning was never addressed during that visit. The following morning, we discovered the bathroom floor was soaked due to a leaking toilet. Maintenance confirmed the issue, placed towels on the floor, and returned later to repair it. During that visit, they were also able to fix the air conditioning. Later that morning, we found that one of the mugs in our room had not been properly cleaned. While this would normally be a minor issue, it became part of a pattern of poor housekeeping and maintenance. When we returned to our room that evening, we found another leak--this time water was coming from the ceiling. To make matters worse, my friend discovered blood stains on her comforter that had been concealed beneath the sheet. When we reported these issues to the front desk, there appeared to be no record of our previous maintenance requests or completed service calls, which was extremely concerning. A manager later offered us a $100 dining credit. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, I do not believe it adequately reflected the extent of the problems we encountered throughout our stay. Grand Sierra positions itself as one of Reno's premier hotels, and with that reputation comes an expectation of quality, cleanliness, and responsive service. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because guests should not experience repeated maintenance failures, cleanliness issues, and communication breakdowns during what is supposed to be a relaxing stay.

You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. I've given this place too many chances to redeem themselves but I always walk out of here irritated. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I went there a ball of stress and as soon as I got on the table my stress melted away the room was very cozy and inviting. Tatiana has a gentle but also firm touch and she incorporated sound healing and Jin shin energy work along with ashiatsu, which is Thai massage where she walked on my back and it felt amazing. After my massage I used the steam room where salt scrub is provided. I felt amazing the rest of the day! Located off of Kietzke, you'll find a cute white building with a giant mural that says "Reno" on the back side. After parking in the parking lot located behind the building, you'll enter the back entrance into the lush courtyard where you'll see a black metal staircase to the right. The staircase will lead you to the Bliss Holistic Center. I have done yoga many times before, but this was the first time I was able to experience Buti. It felt like a mix of dancing, Pilates, yoga, and anger management. Perfect for all able bodies, and in my opinion, a great way to break out of one's shell to build confidence with their body. After the powerful yoga session, we were able to enjoy a peaceful sound bath given by Tatiana. The sound bath allowed us to go on a deep journey within, something we all need to do more often with this crazy world around us. With the sound baths you can also add mindful hands-on enhancements that will "help you sink deeper into your body allowing the mind to heart connection." Check out their website for their available classes, like Belly Dance Fusion, Sound Bath healing, Buti Yoga, Guided mediations, spa offerings, and more! Save by bundling and continue to support local!
