We are in Reno, inside the Silver Legacy Hotel ! Now let's go to the show. This is a great place to have a show, while this is a small venue it' has held bigger concerts and events. There is plenty of room. This was a local event part of a Blues Festival which needed one more local band! We all got to applaud and celebrate the best of the best. It was put on by the local radio station. Here we go! All the acts were done live and were truly great ! The acoustics could be heard all around you "in stereo"! As the echos of the music touch your soul it vibrates ! Thump and another thump, each and every act playing to be that next big one. In the end they are all great! This Battle of the Bands was one for the history books. It's a shame only one can win ! They are all talented. After a flight the last thing I wanted to do was wait in a line that was long like TSA just to get on the elevator. Check in was fast and easy but it was a 20 min line I had to wait in just to get up to my floor. Then when it was time to get off my floor same thing. Although it wasn't a line to go downstairs the elevator was packed so that took about 15 minutes oh and remind you it's only 2 elevator working. Ultimately I had to take the stairs to go to the lobby and I was on the 6 floor. Worst experience ever and was so not worth it for the price I paid. I come to Reno often but this was a worst experience ever for my first time staying at their hotel read more

My first time in this venue! Entry line was really long winding through the casino but quick overall. We saw a comedy show here and were seated entirely to the left of the room in the second row of raised seating. Even being "off to the side" the view was still great--could see and hear everything fine. Although farther back, I'd definitely book the raised seating in the future. Everything closer is all floor seating and as a shortie in Nevada, all it takes is one tall guy with a hat to quickly ruin that haha. A couple minor bummers -- The bar lines inside were a bit of a cluster, and I have no idea where the bathrooms were, so for those reasons I'm glad it was a shorter show. An unexpected aftershow experience too was a huge long elevator line to get into the parking garage. So much so that I decided to hoof it back to my car on the 7th floor! read more

We continue to come here for shows and the acoustics are horrendous. Poor Daryl Hall, Todd Rundgren and Daryl's House Band! Daryl was clearly annoyed with the sound and admitted it was the low ceilings and boxed shaped room. Poor me and other guests who pay a good amount to see good entertainers in a ballroom with bad sound. Why do acts continue to come here? I can think of two other great local spots instead. Oh well, I was still happy to see Daryl in a small setting. We sat in the raised seats this time and they weren't bad. Even though they were further away, they were raised and we could see over the audience. We would have loved to have been closer to Daryl. He's iconic and a great entertainer. His house band was a class act. We don't typically stay after shows to gamble or drink. In and out of the crowded self parking lot for us. read more

Nice concert, Okay venue This was our first time in this venue. It is a nice, intimate venue as opposed to a large arena or convention center. Our section were aisle seats on Section C, Row 7. Lucky for us once everyone was seated in our row we were good, no guests getting up each time going to use the restroom. I was afraid of that. In this venue you either have floor seats or on the risers section (back). Section D is the center facing the stage and is the ideal section. Ours weren't bad seats and were close enough to have a good view of the performer on stage. All floor seats are flat floor configuration so you're lucky if no six-footer sits in front of you. There were two large screens set up on each side of the concert hall. The audio sound and acoustics were great! Not too loud, just right for my ears. It was a little confusing navigating to the venue at first. You will have to look for the escalator or stairs, (or a small elevator) to get you downstairs from the second floor. Silver Legacy's set up is so busy and everything looks crowded and scrunched up from each other. There are no clear directions to find that elevator to take you downstairs, we had to ask staff employees to direct us. Once downstairs we were good. There was a small bar area set up on the corner. The restrooms were next to the stairs. Other than that we had a great evening and a nice experience at this venue. More importantly, I was happy that hubby and I had a chance to take my Mom to see one of her all time favorite artist. We had a great time too and recognized one or two of the songs sang. Went to go see Bill Burr. The actual Venue is really nice, I was on the sidelines and was fine because they have the big screens to look at if you're sitting farther away. My only gripe was the organization. The people in Reno show up early for the dinners, parties and concerts. The line to get in the venue was a weird snake type situation, they needed more ropes or dividers or staff. I also think they should open up early , an hour or so. I didn't have enough time to get my cocktails and snacks because I didn't want to stand in two long lines. I was bummed out about that. I'm only one person you lost $$$$ and tips because of this, how many more I wonder? Again, the venue is nice and the show awesome!! I hope there is a better system when I see Air Supply in February 2024. I love Reno , just giving feedback. Thx C read more

This may be a great venue for a small convention or a large meeting or banquet, but is not ideal for a concert. We have been to a couple of shows here - stand-up comic and music. Most of the seating is floor seating and, as has been previously mentioned, the choice seats are saved for high-roller comps and VIPS. There are raised seats in the back of the hall. We were lucky this last time to get seats close to the middle and about midway back. We could actually see the performers on the stage. The sound is ok. The last time I went, the volume seemed set too high for the group and the mixing was not even. The large screens help people sitting on the sides (very little view of the stage) or behind a tall person. The showroom at the sister property, the Eldorado, is a much nicer venue for a concert, but does not seat as many. If the Carano's (the property owners) are planning to have more name talent performing at their resort, they may want to consider putting in a large venue showroom with theater seating. My recommendation is to either be a VIP gambler to get choice seats or purchase tickets early for a sort-of good seat. read more

I've probably been to a dozen or so concerts and shows here in the Grande Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy. There are some good seats and some bad seats but the BEST seats are reserved for the "high rollers" for the Silver Legacy. So you might wanna be a gambler there if you really want to get super close. Most of the time we have the "bad" seats and still find a way to enjoy ourselves at most shows. The security staff does a great job in keeping the crowd from getting out of hand. They also have huge screens if you just are unlucky enough to get stuck behind that 350lb 6'7" guy with the pimp hat. You can still catch most of the best parts of the show. They have lots of bars out front too. The alcohol prices are a bit gougey but not sports stadium level. Last concert we went to was 311 and they even had the smarts to do a 311 drink! Love that kind of creativity. Most shows wont go past 10 because they need to get people out gambling. Parking at the Silver Legacy sucks...I suggest just parking at the Circus Circus and walking the nice walk from that parking garage. Unless you are driving a smart car, then go ahead and park at the Silver Legacy. read more

Grande Exposition Hall - Side seats for 311. - Music Venues Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Years ago (when I was barely old enough to gamble) I attended an event put on by Silver Legacy at the Reno events center which is a short walk from the casino. It was a fine venue to see an event. I'm not sure what has happened but it doesn't look like SL uses that venue anymore. They now host events at this venue which is basically in the basement. If attending a show here, keep in mind that if you are like most people (like me), and plan to show up 15 or 20 minutes before showtime that EVERYONE else is too. I walked down from my room to the casino floor and saw a MASSIVE line snaking all the way around the floor. It took FOREVER to get in the venue and to our seats. Not to worry though, the show won't start until almost everyone is seated save for the stragglers. Part of the reason the line moves so slowly is after scanning your tickets and entering, instead of just letting you walk to your seats the ushers insist on seeing your ticket and personally walking you to your seat 1 group at a time. Doesn't make a whole lotta sense. We are all adults. We can figure it out on our own or ask for help. But, again, the show won't start until the venue is full and most everyone is seated. The reason I'm writing this review for anyone who is interested in attending a show or performance here is to point out the awkward shape of the venue. From the front of the stage to the very last row it's about the size of half a basketball court. Maybe even a little bigger. Maybe. And, the last 10 or so rows are elevated while the rows of seats in front are on a flat surface. So if you are a short person and a taller person sits in front of you, you won't really be able to see. You can easily sit towards the back and you will be able to see the show just fine and save a few bucks on tickets while you are at it. If you sit literally anywhere in sections E, D, and C you will have a great view of the stage. Sit in sections F and B only if you were late buying your tickets and nothing else is available. Sections A and G? Forget about it. Don't even go unless you want a sore neck from looking to the side the entire show. As I wrote earlier, the venue has really weird dimensions where it's not really very deep from the 1st to the last row, but it's really wide from side to side. So if you sit in the side sections you are either looking sideways or up at the projector screen. At that point, you might as well save your $ and watch the performer on YouTube. They have a couple bars set up just outside main doors of the venue but the line looked super long. Not sure why anyone would want to stand in that long line and miss part of the show when you can easily pregame in your room before the show. read more

I recently saw David Crosby here and thought it was an amazing concert, I was a bit disappointed with the venue. It is what it is described - an "Exhibition Hall" with chairs spread out on the floor. Very cramped and my son is in a wheelchair so we were placed at the far right of the room. Not the best seating. Chairs are locked together and cramped. Silver Legacy's competitors' place wheelchair seating in the middle of the room where it is much easier to watch the show and egress when the concert is over . There are better seating, but they are reserved for the "high rollers" or those willing to pay higher prices I suppose. There are a couple of screens which made visibility much better though when I go to a concert, I like to watch the performer, not the screen. I can watch a performer's concert on public television for a lot less. There are several bars outside of the venue, but a bottle of water is small and expensive! The parking was insane at the El Dorado but I think any parking downtown would have been the same. I recommend going to shows early. Have a nice dinner downtown to avoid the stress of trying to park and make the show on time. Not my first choice of a concert venue, but I would go back depending on the entertainment. Did I mention that when we left, there was a car going the wrong way down the road? After the concert, either try to get out of downtown as soon as you can, or stay at one of the local casinos until the morning. It was a madhouse! read more

Saw Lyle Lovett here in July 2015, Sec. E, row 3, seats 9 & 10; first time at this venue. I was expecting theater-type seating. Was disappointed to discover it was more like a ballroom, with almost all floor seats, all flat at the same level, except for a very few bleacher seats in the back. That said, it is a small enough venue where there's not really a *terrible* seat in the house, however there are definitely some that are better than others. The floor plan was a bit deceiving; our 3rd row seats appeared to be aligned with the very end edge of the stage, however in reality we were about 5-6 feet to the right of the stage. Also the floor plan showed no seats in rows 1 and 2 directly in front of us, however at the show, there were people sitting in that area. We wondered if they saved those for last minute disability seating? If that was the case, indicating that on the floor plan would be helpful. Overall, couldn't really complain as Lyle Lovett puts on an amazing show, however he didn't move around a lot, staying pretty centered on the stage. Was a bit disappointed that most of his focus was on the center of the room and the crowd on the opposite side of the stage from where we were sitting. Similar to the Reno events center, I would come back to this venue only if we get center floor seats within the first 8 rows. Also, avoid the Silver Legacy parking garage - it's a nightmare. Agree with the other reviewer -- only good if you drive a Smart Car. Think we parked at the Eldorado and walked over. Circus Circus parking is an option, too. read more

My husband and I have seen a few shows here. One was Bob Saget, another was Wayne Brady and just recently Martina McBride. The venue is good for sit down comedy shows. The majority of the room is floor seating. It's all level with everyone seated in the same sized chair. Chairs are locked together so seating is kind of tight and leaving to go to the restroom is worse than leaving a theatre in the middle of the movie. The rest of the room is riser seating very similar to little leauge bleachers. There really isnt a bad seat in the house - they do have four large screens that they display the show on so if you are further back or to the side you wont miss anything. I wont be attending this venue for another concert however. Because the seating is all level you can't stand up and dance or rock out or you will block everyone behind you which is a bummer. Nothing worse than wanting to boogie but having to stay in your seat. The Grand Sierra is a much better venue for concerts. read more
