Cypress is my favorite concert venue in Reno, I wish they had more shows here. I've seen all different types of shows, from Bluegrass to EDM, and they have all been great! I appreciate the back patio to get some fresh air, and the bartenders are always pretty quick to get drinks. I've not eaten here yet but looking forward to trying it, but for concerts it's a great spot and already looking forward to my next show! read more

We took the older kids to an all ages show, organized by the Holland project. Cypress is a great medium sized venue, comfortable to navigate, and efficient bartending. I like that they provide a big cooler of water for people to fill their cups. Another customer lit up a joint in front of my two 12 year olds. I wasn't too crazy about that, for their first all ages show, but it's Reno I guess. To their credit, I explained the situation and they quickly & respectfully extinguished. (Now I'm a Karen, dang...) We didn't try the food, but the drinks were reasonably priced. Great selection of beers & cider on tap. Super nice employees. Excellent sound quality. What a venue! Got a chance to check out this place for FARM AID organized by KIDROCKER. The location can't be more prime and instantly when I walked in I knew it was going to be a good time! I parked next door at the small lot with a convenient text to pay option (easy peasy). The bar is to the right with tables towards the stage and a dance floor set up. My boyfriend was one of the musicians and I got to peek into the green room where the musicians hung out before stage time. The patio just outside the back was designed for more good times with ample seating and an ambiance screaming for a private event! I wish I had taken a few more photos but trust me, this place is for something memorable (bachelorette party anyone). And speaking of live acts, the audio and lighting and stage is PRO PRO PRO. I love finding these gems in Reno. Can't wait for them to open the restaurant and check out future live acts! read more

Standing room ONLY and large enough area with everyone in attendance that enjoys the show without feeling like you are crammed in and still move around. I came here for the first Reno Hair Show. It was a great event. This bar is not too big and not too small. I want to come back to catch the vibe of this place on a regular night. What I did notice though is they have a stage and dance floor. I really like a place where you can have music and you have space to move around. This place is in midtown. The beat of the drum mirrors your heart beat. Thump thump you tap in its rhythm. While this is the greatest of greatest dive bars in the little city with in a city you get all their love. Band after band sings and presents their array of talent to you. Watch, dance, and tap your foot. As normal this is a bar, so drinks and non alcoholic alchemy flows from the bar behind the bar as per your needs. The main reason to come here is for the talent that's playing up on stage. A major act that writes and plays their own instruments their own way is the local blues artist and band, John Courage. This righteous guitar player belts out tunes such as; "The Valley," "Lone Wolf," and "The Poet." The tunes go for hours and hours. Oh that was just one song. Come out and see what you have been missing. During our stay in Vegas we attended a special event to establish the special guest spot for a local band at the Reno festival "Battle Ax and Tracks," at NOVI. The after party was held here at the Cypress. It's a short skip from the downtown area. They want to play for you! Now that the pandemic is in the rear, bands are coming back out. Here in Reno it's starting to get cold at night, but come inside and ignite your passion with the joys coming from the stage. It's time for some more live music. Came here for a concert and it is the perfect venue! I love that it is on the smaller side. there is a small outside area in the back as well for smokers or just to get some air. The bartenders are quick and definitely handled the crowd fabulously! Parking is a challenge though since it is on Virgina, so what ever your event, be sure to add in extra time to find parking and walk over. Can't wait to see the next concert here! oh they also do line dance lessons on tuesdays! Can't wait to try those. read more

We came here for a show and it was our first time visiting! It was a really nice venue for the size of the audience. They have a good selection of beers on top and canned beverages as well. The drinks were reasonably priced. There was no reentry at this show, but they do have a patio in back, which was nice. We'd definitely come back here for a show or to grab drinks again! read more

Found out recently The Saint went under during the pandemic... but looks like Cypress Lounge (or Cypress Reno?) replaced them at the same venue. Fun midtown spot with live music as well as dancing midweek -- I came on the latin dance Thursdays thrown together by Gerzon and it's been a blast! :) There's a lesson 830-930, then a dance social party till midnight-ish. Friendly and fun dancers, music distribution is 4 salsas : 4 bachatas : 1 merengue : 1 cumbia/wildcard song, so it's a little bit of something for everyone. Buy a drink and support the venue! Came for the Thursday Night Salsa Social! It was my first time being at the cypress despite going to UNR for 4 years and had a great time! Wish I had known about this place when I was in college! Staff was friendly, it was easy to find close parking, and their dance floor is a great size! They had a DJ that played til about 12/12:30am and I really enjoyed how he played salsa/bachata/cumbia! Usually when I've gone to socials in the past they strictly stick to one genre and you're lucky if you get 2 or 3 songs in another! This place switched it up enough to add diversity and a fun twist on the night! Definitely will be coming back for another Thursday night when I'm in Reno next! read more

Went here on New Year's Eve. What a fun time at the Circus. Love love the DJ and the contortionist! Great selection of beer and cocktails. I also liked how the very reasonable cover charge created a high energy vibe because folks who came were totally into the circus theme (although I wasn't dressed with a circus costume) ...it wasn't so crowed you couldn't enjoy yourself. Good business model. I visit my daughter in Brooklyn NY and this club was fun, hip, clean and had a great vibe and fun crowd and very high end and reminded me of those fun club. I love dancing to country music. I went to check out Cypress as a possible new venue. Tuesday they had line dancing and they played some good 2-step/swing songs but there are few people there who wanted to dance the couples dances. I went to check out the live music. The band was awesome and they played great songs to dance to. The only problem is that no one would dance. Since they don't attract a dance crowd to the live bands, the dance crowd has no reason to go. If you want overpriced dance music with no one to dance with, Cypress is great. I love Cypress. In the heart of Midtown. I enjoy the live bands and mostly the Salsa Latin Nights with Gerson. Last night? A little disappointed. I mean, we salsa dancers are dancing. We love the bar but when dancing we need to stay hydrated. I went to the bar to buy a $8 cider for The Lady, I asked for a cup of water... $1 buck for water! Gimmeneckícks! WTF! Realy?
