The Crystal Method: The Trip Out Tour (Reno) 8.12.23

Cypress Reno is where it's at for LIVE music in midtown!! The vibe, atmosphere and venue are PERFECT for every show that we have come to see!! Standing room ONLY and large enough area with everyone in attendance that enjoys the show without feeling like you are crammed in and still move around. Bathrooms are always clean, staff is friendly and helpful, lots of craft drinks, beers and H2O on the counter too. Even an outside area to cool down, chill and have a convo with your date or friends before you hop back inside for the show. Check out the upcoming shows on Cypress Reno website, grab tickets at the door or subscribe to the email list to keep up with their lineup of awesome shows! ENJOY!

Best music venue in Reno! The sound is amazing and the vibe is chill. Also, I like not waiting for drinks. Last time I was there I tried the food and those wings are fire! The staff is friendly too.

I came here for the first Reno Hair Show. It was a great event. This bar is not too big and not too small. I want to come back to catch the vibe of this place on a regular night. What I did notice though is they have a stage and dance floor. I really like a place where you can have music and you have space to move around. This place is in midtown. I didn't see parking so I just parked at the meters. I look forward to coming back.

"There's nothing better than live music. It's raw energy, and raw energy fills the soul!" Dhani Jones You could settle for basic, but then your not living. Reno has one of the best underground music scenes. So many artists here are trying to make it to the stage. Come on out and see whats playing. Your locals are here and want to play their hearts to you. Feel the ruthlessness of an epic guitar solo that goes on for hours. Let the joy from the stage spill over to you. The beat of the drum mirrors your heart beat. Thump thump you tap in its rhythm. While this is the greatest of greatest dive bars in the little city with in a city you get all their love. Band after band sings and presents their array of talent to you. Watch, dance, and tap your foot. As normal this is a bar, so drinks and non alcoholic alchemy flows from the bar behind the bar as per your needs. The main reason to come here is for the talent that's playing up on stage. A major act that writes and plays their own instruments their own way is the local blues artist and band, John Courage. This righteous guitar player belts out tunes such as; "The Valley," "Lone Wolf," and "The Poet." The tunes go for hours and hours. Oh that was just one song. Come out and see what you have been missing. During our stay in Vegas we attended a special event to establish the special guest spot for a local band at the Reno festival "Battle Ax and Tracks," at NOVI. The after party was held here at the Cypress. It's a short skip from the downtown area. They want to play for you! Now that the pandemic is in the rear, bands are coming back out. Here in Reno it's starting to get cold at night, but come inside and ignite your passion with the joys coming from the stage. It's time for some more live music. Moments of greatness are happening right now. What were you gonna do tonight? See you soon!

Cypress continues to be one of my favorite local venues for live music and that's because the sound is amazing. The sound tech knows what they're doing, so please keep up the great work! The bathroom is well kept and stocked and is handicapped accessible. Heads up, there is no food here.

We came here for a show and it was our first time visiting! It was a really nice venue for the size of the audience. They have a good selection of beers on top and canned beverages as well. The drinks were reasonably priced. There was no reentry at this show, but they do have a patio in back, which was nice. We'd definitely come back here for a show or to grab drinks again!

Found out recently The Saint went under during the pandemic... but looks like Cypress Lounge (or Cypress Reno?) replaced them at the same venue. Fun midtown spot with live music as well as dancing midweek -- I came on the latin dance Thursdays thrown together by Gerzon and it's been a blast! :) There's a lesson 830-930, then a dance social party till midnight-ish. Friendly and fun dancers, music distribution is 4 salsas : 4 bachatas : 1 merengue : 1 cumbia/wildcard song, so it's a little bit of something for everyone. Buy a drink and support the venue! And support yer local salsa/bachata scene too! :)

Highly recommend this place when your favorite artist is playing. The sound is great! The dance floor is big. The bar has a wide variety. I come hete often. Bathrooms are very clean. Also has an outside smoking area that's really nice.

I came here to see the Moon Muses show. They have a nice stage area and table seating and a large bar. I was able to get a drink and a front row seat and enjoy the show. It's a great little venue.

The schedule says Tuesday line dancin. We showed up and they were closed.

Showed up for line dancing and they were closed tonight with no announcement. It would be appreciated if you would post cancellations.

Upon arrival my friend and I were debating on either the Crystal lounge or Lex Nightclub. While enjoying a cocktail plus a shot we overheard that RickRoss is performing tonight! No question, no brainer Lex it is. It was our lucky evening! Waiting to be escorted to our VIP on table we were concerned on what alcoholic beverage to select. We made a decision and picked our poison, A little Irish whisky for the night it is! Vince was our VIP host and was able to pull some strings and upgraded our section to one close up to the stage where the Boss was set to perform. Feeling really nice on how our host treated us, we entered the event . Thank you Vince! A true player in the game that represents the company with greatness! A little buzzed I am now mesmerized by countless beautiful females towards our section! Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a curtain dancer right above our vip booth in the air performing. Not too long after that I see Fire dancers playing with flames inside the swimming pool. What a venue, what a night! Bottle service is now coming towards us with all the bells and whistles to enhance our experience. Bar backs sets the table quickly and then flashing lights fill the scene with a huge Happy Birthday Sign being waved by 2 gorgeous Cocktail waitresses. Awesome!!!! The DJ was playing all the best club bangers back to back to back! The crowd is hyped while security stayed tight! And then, Rick Ross the Boss comes through after much anticipation. The club is going wild as he recites hit after hit! I never seen Rick Ross perform live and was blown away by his stage presence and performance. A real artistic master. Let the after party begin! After his performance we took a GsR limo to The Peppermint Hippo! Wow now that's another review I'll have to spend time on. Check them out ladies and Gents. Hands down the best adult entertainment club right across the street from the Grand Sierra... Came here last night for a girls night out with my roommates and my roommate's older coworker (my…read morefriends and I are around 25 yrs old, her coworker and coworker's friend are ~50 yrs old. The night was lit). The lounge is inside Silver Legacy, so if you can park in the parking structure and walk up to the 3rd floor, that's where the walkway into the casino and Aura is! Find the place near all the dealers tables are and the lounge is off to the side. We came here around 10pm and stayed until a little past midnight (we've become grandmas, some of us had work the next day, applause to the older crowd that stayed hours after we left). There wasn't a cover tonight and the line wasn't very long around 10. Got a moscow mule at the bar which didn't taste half bad, and the bartending service was not bad (granted it's still pretty early so it wasn't crowded and there wasn't a wait). Layout of the place: the dance floor is in the middle (there's also a smoke machine that occasionally bellows out a smoke cloud every 5-10 mins), and then there's booths/couch seating around the edges. If you come early, it does kind of feel weird to be on the dance floor (especially if it's empty) while the rest of the people sitting around the edges just watch you (but hey if you're drunk, it doesn't really matter). I want to say that me and my roommates were easily the youngest people in this club. I think the average age of the clientele last night was around 30-40 years old. WHICH ISN'T A BAD THING - it was actually super fun. Super ethnically diverse clientele, and I appreciated that the DJ could recognize who and what age group was out that night because he mostly played hip-hop/rap from the 90s/early 2000s (aka my favorite era of hip hop, I don't think there was one song played that night that disappointed me - classic 50 Cent, Usher, Montell Jordan, etc.) The dance floor stays pretty empty until about 11pm (but literally if you're out with your girls, you know that your squad holds up the dance floor and gets people off their booties!) Around 11pm-midnight there's a big enough crowd on the dance floor but still space to move around and not be sweating on other people (aka the perfect critical mass for a dance floor) - it isn't a huge dance floor, but it's the right size for the number of people that walk through the doors. The vibes are pretty chill, even though based on other reviews I've read it seems like people have issues with security or don't like the service. I didn't receive any bad service that night but maybe this place really just depends on the night? It wasn't trashy nor was it too upscale, and although they say that dressy attire is required, they definitely let people in wearing jeans/ chucks/t-shirts (I would say that if you're a girl, going in with a sundress type/casual dress and booties shoots straight in the middle - Reno isn't a super formal city to begin with anyway). I know in other reviews it says they have a cover but maybe that depends on the night too. I honestly think that with clubs and lounges like these, your star-quality night depends on who you're with and how down you are to have fun. Worthy stop if you're checking out Reno!

So I took a female friend of mine here for her birthday. She had never been to a strip club and I'm afraid after this she won't be interested in seeing another one. First of all there's a cover charge of $10 to get in. We both had to pay even though females are often let into a "gentleman's club" for free. But that's just a small gripe. Once in I got a coke and she got a glass of wine. The coke was in a small glass and was full of ice and cost me $4.50. Her glass of wine cost $10. Today is a Tuesday and it wasn't that busy. More dancers than customers for sure. However, after being there for about one hour sipping on our drinks and watching the stage (and TV's) we had to leave. We received absolutely NO attention at this club. We barely got any eye contact from the ladies. I've never felt so snubbed in my life. Most of the girls were actually just hanging around near the bar in the back talking with each other. But I was watching carefully and all of the other customers were getting some attention, and me and the birthday girl I brought received NONE. I will never go here again, and I absolutely don't recommend anyone give it a try.
