A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino. I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show. read more

Last Friday night we went to the White Rabbit Theater. We got there 3 minutes before happy hour ended so we got 2 specialty drinks for $20 instead of $18 each. I wish I had ordered two. After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time! read more

Kaileigh and Chase Hasty did a good job. They also shared a little about their history; see their website. And since there were only approximately 20 people in the audience, it was a very upfront and personal show. Definitely got our $$ worth, well it was only $20 each. Ambiance - Very small intimate theater. Comfortable seats, see pictures. Soft, plush, lean back chairs with arm rests (or not) and cup holders. Full bar and lounge when you enter. Happy hour is also available; see pictures. In the bar, free close up magic which was actually pretty good. I stayed for one magic trick. Open 7 days a week; see their website for specific hours and shows. Plenty of casino parking. Service - Good. Price - After a discount, it was approximately $20 a person. Had family come in from out of town. My son has recently started getting into smoked whiskey old-fashioned. He found one here that was 100 proof. He said he enjoyed the bartender, upfront magic show, and cocktails. So the next night he brought me here. It was 8:45 PM. We arrived 30 minutes before the Next of course magic show. My wife and I walked in before the rest of our family, and the bartender just looked at me and asked if he could help me. I told him if it was a bar, I would Ike a cocktail. Bartender's name was Johnny. They have some comfortable lounge chairs. We sat in them, and the bartender did not come from behind the bar. Quite loudly, from behind the bar, he asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered our drinks and the bartender just put them at the end of the bar. Apparently too lazy to actually serve us. What we ordered: 2 x smoked whiskey, old-fashioned Amaretto sour Vodka soda Fuzzy Navel Espresso martini White rabbit (cotton candy) My daughter-in-law asked if they had an espresso martini . He said he did have it, but he didn't have any coffee beans to put in . She said that was good enough. Each time one of the cocktails was prepared, he would put it on the bar and say the drink was ready. After he finished making the cocktails, he asked if we wanted to open a tab. I asked him about the espresso martini... You know the one where you said you didn't have the coffee beans... he said, thanks for reminding him. Now remember, nobody else drinking in the bar. There was a game on the TV and the bartender was watching it quite attentively. Apparently we were interrupting his game time. For the smoked old-fashioned, my son raved about the cherry, the orange peel and bacon. He told the bartender he liked a sweeter old-fashioned and asked for two extra cherries. The old-fashioned were put in the smoker box and when my son picked them up, there was no orange peel or bacon. My son asked him where was the bacon and the orange peel. to Johney said since he asked for extra cherries.... He didn't give the regular accoutrements. Apparently, if you ask for an extra cherry, you will not get an orange peel? Or the bacon? So I asked the guy doesn't an old-fashioned usually come with an orange peel and then he said ...'again you asked for an extra cherry so I didn't give it to you.... ' his tone was fairly aggressive. So: after forgetting getting a drink, deciding that an extra cherry in your smoked whiskey fashion means you don't get an orange peel or bacon, making us serve ourselves, and caring more about the game on the TV than the customers that drop in... ONE star. Spending almost $100 on seven drinks, his tip reflected his lazy service and mistakes. The magic show was actually quite amazing. 5 star for the magic. The kids really enjoyed. The magician was very entertaining and at the end of his show we gave him quite a large tip and he deserved it . The drinks were enjoyable, but the bartender made this just less than enjoyable. I went the rabbit theater on 2 different occasions... one with the yelp elite events all age and the other Nocturnal. The service was great, I had cocktail that I order off the menu, it's little pricey but not bad. Both events of the magic are very engaging, but the magic are different performances compared to all ages and nocturnal. Do not expect nudity in the nocturnal. The only difference is nocturnal have adults humor, R-rated humor and some profanity. I enjoyed both events. The ambience is very causal, very relaxing environment. read more

This was officially my second visit to the White Rabbit theatre to see the "That's Magic" show. My first expertise was with Yelp's special event and I was blown away enough to find the next open spot on my calendar to bring my kids back. I'm happy to report that the kids were both blown away and now can't wait till their next live magic experience. The lounge is very cool in itself, and it's a plus that your kids can be in here as well enjoying a soda and partaking in the close up magic. We also were surprised by the free balloon animals being given out. Service is top notch that's for sure. As far as going back, my wife and I might sneak away to check out the adult only "Nocturnal" show, and we can't wait to see what show Chase and Kayleigh come up with next, they are truly amazing with kids. In the past month we've been to White Rabbit twice, once for the late 18+ show and again with kiddo for the family friendly show and both were a great time. Before the show even started you could see some upclose magic at the bar if you chose. I watched from a slight distance last night and must say I was impressed not only with the trick they were displaying but the engagement with the crowd watching. The theater show following was also very smooth and engaging. There were a couple weeks between the shows we attended and we were pleasantly surprised with a few new tricks. Hasty's slight of hand is very impressive, although I feel it is sometimes slept on in these stage shows. His interactions with the crowd and overall stage presence is great. Kaylee and the dancers (apologies I can't remember their names) have wonderful routines and outfits and genuinely appear to enjoy their contribution. Another praise I'd like to give them has to do with their music choices. The remaking of some popular songs had a great feel and went well with the stage show. Upon passing by the old movie theater and seeing the signage for the upcoming magic theater. I kept an eye and saw there was a social media page. So the minute I saw they had opened I was more than eager to grab a ticket and check out the new venue. A friend group and I decided to go on a three day weekend. There's a few promotions being displayed on their social media page showing 20% or 2-for-1 it shows to be available for in person ticket purchase. A friend and I met up after work for the in-person purchase to only learn they will not honor it during a holiday weekend. It did not disclose this information anywhere on their website or by the promotion announcement. I was told I would be emailed the ticket, but after an hour of checking I called to see as I hadn't received my ticket I was told to come in for a ticket print out so I did that. I again followed up in regards to the promotion and was told that they cannot be honored on three day weekends but typically weekends would be okay. My group and I did the Nocturnal show which was geared more for the adults. I think the magicians were great and engaging. One friend from our group was volunteered up the stage and was a good sport. I think the drinks are super fun! I ordered The Crystal Ball which was like a magical concoction type drink really tasty too and the bartender was really sweet about waiting for me to be video recording ready. Drinks appear to be about $18 more or less. I love that they kept the movie theater popcorn (the best ever!) and snacks there. I just wish they had been more transparent about their discounts. How have we not heard about That's Magic starring Kaileigh & Chase Hasty before. What an amazing show with mind boggling illusions and close up magic, combined with incredible dancing and elegant aerial acrobatics. Located inside the newly renovated Theatre inside the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR), the theatre prepares you for an incredible evening with moody lighting and a raised stage with lights reminiscent of the old vaudeville shows of the past. Having close friends who are professional magicians who perform at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles and at venues across the US, I have high expectations of the quality of magic. Chase definitely did not disappoint. Situated in the front row, we could easily see every move of his hands. With that, I still could not "figure it out". Amazing. Well done sir. Well done. Chase's performance included a great blend of "girl in the box", levatations and high quality close up magic. His delivery is endearing and approachable, being from Central America (Nebraska) as he engages with the audience. You want to like him and see him do well. And that he does. His wife Kaileigh, a professional dancer, entertains and amazes you with her skill, elegance and flexibility. She is supported by two dancers, equally skilled, in choreographed routines. So professional. Kaileigh "takes it up a notch" quite literally with an amazing aerial performance, demonstrating her strength, flexibility and sheer artistry. So beautiful. My husband and I visited for a Date Night and caught the Nocturnal Show (the adults only performance) and we had an absolutely fantastic time. Chase the Magician is not only exceptionally skilled in his craft, but he's also genuinely hilarious. His crowd work is seamless, and the immersive nature of his illusions keeps you engaged from start to finish. The dance acts woven throughout the show are equally impressive. Stylish, steamy, and beautifully executed, they add a dynamic flair and keep the energy high between magic acts. Chase also performs several classic illusions many of us grew up learning about as kids, which brought a delightful sense of nostalgia. He even built a nice story/illusion around an optical illusion/puzzle. Chase really pushes the audience participation and we had a lively and engaged audience. The drinks out front are legit, slightly pricey at $18-$25. The theater has an unfortunate large post right in the middle. I first noticed this venue when taking my son to the escape room at the GSR. It's on the lower level across from the arcade. Easiest access is the small south lot by the driving range (enter the south doors and go straight in and it's back on the right) or the northeast entrance from the north lot. The bar is small but has a good atmosphere, solid beer/wine options, and a decent craft-cocktail menu. Cocktails run $18-$25--a bit high for Reno but normal I suppose for a casino hotel (or for Vegas) and a magician performs at the bar, which is a fun bonus. The theater is intimate and every seat generally has a good view, except for an odd support post near the center. The two obstructed sections aren't bad if you're in the last couple of seats nearest the middle of the row. Also avoid the far-side seats in the first two rows, which have a harsh side angle. Seating is comfortable with generous leg room and cup-holder armrests. The show itself is short, clean, and entertaining, about 90 minutes with a mid-show intermission. It's not a Vegas-scale production, but the magician's act is polished, the audience interaction carries the show, and expectations should be set for smaller-scale illusions rather than a long list of big stunts. As an overall experience, it's an easy 4-star event. But the sub-$40 ticket price (around $50 for the best seats after fees) pushes it to a low 5-star value. While not a blow you away experience, in a world where everything feels overpriced, this is one of the more reasonably priced entertainment options in Reno. read more

We then brought our daughter to the early show and to our surprise they change it up enough that it felt like a completely different show. I really hate leaving a negative review that especially was an event for the elite. Unfortunately, this was definitely not the experience that I had hoped for. First problem was the gathering before the show because the bartenders and that area had zero clue what they were doing, there was no line distinction whatsoever and the price for a pretzel with almost $20. And we're talking it was just a big normal pretzel. Then when the show started a lot of of us were hoping it would get better because it is really honestly geared toward children. My grandbabies would've loved it but as an adult not so much. When we left at intermission, there was quite a few of us talking as we were walking down the hallway that had the same opinion and I know at least six of us didn't go back for the second half so I can't really say second half money got better but we weren't there. The Hasty's are just absolute legends in their own unique way. 7pm show is very family friendly. On Friday and Saturdays there is a 9pm show for adults only. Location is great with comfy seats as it replaces the cinema at GSR. Park by the pool and golf range for easy access to the theater. Movie theater style snacks ie candy, popcorn, pretzels and soda available at the concession stand before you enter. Now the lounge. Cute spot and live magic. The bartender was super sweet but two drinks were wrong and when someone orders one of the speciality cocktails ask if they want to film it. They may say no but if they want to and don't get the opportunity it can make the experience slightly less magical. All in all a great addition to Reno. read more

Everything is assigned seating and we chose the front row right side and the magician sat right in front of us for one of the tricks. We felt apart of the action without being in the spotlight until our daughter was called up on stage. Downsides We will admit being in the front row gives a slightly altered view being that close but would say the first few rows are completely with it. There are obstructed views on the right side of the theater because of the massive beam in the middle. The seating chart indicates obstructed view so skip those if you can for that reason. Our particular night was a little odd. The morning brought some really bad news but we decided to see the show anyways. The audio/mic situation was a little off but the magician improvised and made the most of it. Overall this was absolutely a great show and worth it for a night of family fun. read more

The former movie theaters located at the GSR Reno were renovated and those loveseats replaced. There is now a bar and snack bar as well as a beautiful theatre with comfortable seating and a curtained stage. We thoroughly enjoyed the magic show! The bar also serves fantastic creative cocktails as well as a light menu and treats. (Ex: huge pretzel, charcuterie, popcorn, cotton candy). The highlight is the amazing magic and Chase, the magician adds a bit of comedy and storytelling. His beautiful wife Kaleigh is his assistant. The incorporation of a bit of dance and acrobatics only adds to the spectacle and awe that is Magic!I have already recommended this as a date night to several friends and older kids would love the show too. Giving 5 stars but please read about the crowd! I will say the magician and production of this show was 1000%. As an adult it was so crazy and fun to see and be entertained for the evening at the show. I will probably go again next time I'm in Reno. The show and the magic were things I have never seen before and really made our stay amazing. HOWEVER, and this is NO FAULT OF THE MAGICIAN OR SUPPORTING ACTS, the day we went this annoying little kid ORYAN WOULDNT STFU. He kept yelling "I remember" "do you remember me?" "Show us!" "Pick me" sooo loudly that it was interfering with the magician and his show. Multiple times the magician had to stop and think about his next line because you could tell the kid yelling broke his train of thought. This kid was not with a parent but a teenager sibling and that's fine if the kid isn't 1. Obnoxious or 2. Listens! For the first half myself and people around (with their own kids) kept shushing him or giving them a look and he wouldn't shut up. There were children younger than him there with better behavior. At intermission I notified the manager and all he did was walk into the auditorium and take a look then went back inside. Now WHY do you have people sign something when purchasing tickets that if kids don't behave they will be removed and then NOT REMOVE HIM! You didn't even talk to his teenage sister and tell her to shut him up for lack of better words. Clearly the issue is a lack of parenting and letting him act that way outside of a show but it was sooooo annoying. The magician at one point picked him to hold a frame so he would stfu and he still didn't. The other kids were quite fun and just honestly raised right. Again, this has nothing to do with the magic or magician and artists, they were top notch and I would pay to see this again but I hope that Oryan kid chews glass cause that really put a damper on the show for us. read more

The entire performance was very kid friendly as advertised for the 7 pm viewing. The low rating comes from not giving any free water. I understand not allowing outside food or drink in as you want to sell drinks and of course no one is going to die from dehydration in 90 minutes but if you're not going to provide free water, let me bring in a water bottle. read more

We planned a double date with some friends and whenever we go out together, we always try to find something unique. I was so excited to see this magic show. Chase and Kayleigh put on a phenomenal show. The dancing is incredible and the magic tricks are very entertaining. I got called up on stage to participate with Chase in a magic trick and it was a blast. You'll laugh and be amazed and entertained all at the same time. There's also a guy at the bar that does slight of hand and card tricks that will leave your jaw on the ground! I was able to talk to Chae after the show and he was really cool and down to earth. The White Rabbit Theater at GSR is a Reno nightlife hidden cheat code and most people are too basic to find it. It's part cocktail lounge, part magic show, part fever dream all of it works. Here's how to do it right: Start at the bar. Not just for the drinks (which are excellent), but because there's a magician doing close-up magic inches from your face while you sip. No stage. No smoke. Just "What the hell just happened?" moments at a barstool. One second you're enjoying a Smoke & Mirrors (a smoky Old Fashioned with a presentation I won't spoil) and the next, some guy just read your mind and you're questioning reality. The cocktails hit hard but smooth. That Crystal Ball tastes like a spa day mixed with the night's mischief, and it'll sneak up on you. Such unexpected fun. Came for happy hour (highly recommended) then at 6:15 saw some close up magic which was awesome! Then to the main stage. Great performance and a really cool theater. An all ages show, in fact, 4 year old Harry from the audience, ended the show. Highly recommended. Just eat before because it's only snacks. Like popcorn & giant pretzels (also candy). read more
