Since my initial review I've come here multiple times, not just for problems but an air top-up, and for the most part I'm in and out fast. We did have a recent problem with Mrs. P's Tesla, this time with a leaky tire. The Grand Tire crew found the problem, removed it, and patched the tire, but it took a while for them to take care of it, and I would later find out why. 3-4 weeks went by when the system showed we were still having an issue with the same tire, and so back to Grand I went, expressing surprise because they've always done great work, so "Maybe I got new nail?" Nope, the patch they'd applied last time had worked loose so the tire was once again losing air. The lads again took forever to fix it, and this time the Boss man noticed I'd been sitting there for a while and he explained why. Because the Tesla cars are so much quieter than a car with a combustion engine, you hear the road noise a lot more, and so to help eliminate that and make the ride more pleasant, Tesla fill their tires with a sound-deadening foam. This foam adheres to the inside wall of the tire and has to be removed (mechanically ground away) in order to create enough space for the patch, AND ensure there's sufficient exposed rubber for the patch to stick to. But this can be a tricky job because the technician literally has to grind away the inside of the tire, far more so than he would have to do when repairing a tire without this sound-deadening foam. Remove too little and the patch won't stick. Remove too much...and you ruin the tire. This is also a large part of the reason for why replacing a Tesla's tires is a lot more expensive IF you go through Tesla. The Boss man said we can go that route when we next need to replace the tires (we've already replaced them once within the first 30,000 miles)...or we can come here, and it will be a lot cheaper. We won't have the sound-deadening foam inside the tires, but from everything I've read (actual, real world customers), it's not a big deal. "1.5 decibel difference may not sound like much..." cue up the fear-mongering video. Inside your average Tesla it's about 65-68 decibels. An increase of 1.5 decibels is a negligible increase. The average person is not even going to notice that. It's like if your coworker was talking, and now they're talking a little louder. That's it. You also do NOT need "special" tires for your Tesla. You cannot throw any old car tires on, but your tires just need to be designed/rated such that they can handle the WEIGHT of the car. JUST like a tire you'd purchase for a gas or diesel-powered car/truck, etc. With a Mini or Fiat or Smart car, you can get away with 'lesser' tires. With an F350 or a Tesla, you need sturdier tires. That's it. Anyway, I digress. Grand Tire said the problem was the patch hadn't adhered properly due to the foam, but they stood by their work, took ownership of the problem, and they fixed the leak a second time for free. I paid for the first fix several weeks ago, and when the patch failed, they replaced it for free. Top blokes! read more

This is my second time bringing my Honda Civic to Grand Tire. The first time was for two new tires. They got me in right away on that visit and the employees were cool! While they had my tires off, they recommended doing my rear brakes because they were worn and at first I thought they were trying to up-sale me with a brake job, lol! There really was no pressure from them for me to do it, it was just a recommendation, but I was running late for work so I declined. Sure enough a month later I'm driving and hearing grinding sounds coming from my brakes. I decided to go back today and get my brakes done. I got there early and the employee's showed up right on time and they came out right away and asked me what the issue was, I told them that my brakes were making a grinding sound so they took my car in right away had it up on the lift within minutes. The manager came out and said it was my rear brakes and he gave me an estimate which was very reasonable! He said it may take an hour and a half or so which was okay with me. As I was sitting and waiting I was watching the employee's, and they were really on top of things! One customer came in, and I overheard him telling one of the employees that his tire sensor light came on, and he found something stuck in his tire and thought he was getting a flat, that employee had his tire off within five minutes, he rolled the tire to the back of the shop and came back out within a few minutes and told the gentleman."Sir, you do not have a flat, The object didn't puncture your tire It was just stuck to the heavy side of the tread and it was low on air pressure is why the sensor light came on" I thought to myself he could have told the customer that he needed a new tire, how would he know? The employee was a Mexican fellow with a cool hairdo. I liked the way he combs his hair, kinda like Fonzie style, "Hey" He then checked the pressure on the remaining tires and says to the customer that he was "good to go"! The customer motioned, like, what do I owe you? And the guy says, "no, you're good". The employee working on my brakes turned to me and said, "Sir, we're just about done with your vehicle, you'll be on your way soon" which I really appreciated them Keeping me updated. The only issue I was having so far was it was very cold outside and getting ready to rain and I didn't dress very well for the cold weather. My wife told me that I should take a jacket but regrettably I didn't listen to her,Lol! The manager did notice that I was a cold and told me that It was okay for me to go sit inside the office and get warm which I did. My car got done I got inside and turned the heater on right away. And I was very happy, and like I said, the price was great! I couldn't be happier. I will definitely recommend Grand Tire to all my friends and family and I will continue bringing my vehicles here. Will things go this perfectly every time? Of course not, even In-N-Out screws my order up every once in a great while. But do I stop going there, no way! Thanks again Grand Tire! I've been here several times for mounting/balancing, replacing TPMS, etc. I just had a set of tires mounted onto expensive wheels and the guys did a perfect job without scratching or damaging my wheels. These guys are wonderful! I had a flat tire and they repaired it immediately. I had another flat due to a nail in the tire. Again, fixed it with no problem. I eventually ordered new tires from them. Great prices and excellent service. I was driving another vehicle and the tire light came on. I was a bit worried and stopped by with no appointment. The young man (Frank?) came out and checked the tires. He said I only needed air, which he handled. I asked if the tires were in good condition since the vehicle had been sitting for a while. He actually went under the vehicle and checked all the tires. He said no they are all in good condition but when you are ready for tires come back. He was so nice and kind. My old tires were starting to dry rot. I have a weekend trip coming up and needed tires. I was able to source the tires myself but didn't have a place to mount/balance them. My friend suggested Grand Tire and I was not disappointed! I showed up unannounced on a Monday, late morning. I was immediately greeted and told them I needed a mount/balance and alignment. I was provided a quote and let me know the approximate wait time and price. They began work right away. Came here today because I had a nail in my tire. The service guy had me pull up as soon as I arrived and he immediately began work on my car. The guys here seemed to have a system and work very efficiently and as a team. I was all fixed up within about 15 mins and pricing was very reasonable! I was in need of a used tire. I know don't get on me lol I was in a pinch and didn't want to drive on the freeway to an event on a spare. So they do have a good deal on used tires. I made sure to call ahead to make sure they had my tire size before heading over. I like how my daughter and I were able to stay in the car while they changed it. The only little issue was the guy did not use the correct tool size to take off my lug nut. And he was trying and trying which did strip it a little. Another guy came to help him and finally was able to get off. In the end the did give me the used tire for a little bit less which I appreciated because I had to get new lug nuts. They were very honest and everyone was super nice. I would definitely come back here for tires. The tire was in excellent condition and was a great price. read more

Rude service unapproachable and unfriendly. I couldn't wait to pay and leave this place.... Came in for a tire repair.. the guy started off checking air pressure and said they're too high and laughed. I was confused because I use good tire gauges to check air pressure... Finally we get to the tire i suspect had a nail in.. I was checking with him and I said is this a nail? he laughed and said it's a rock.. shakes his head like I was dumb.. but in my opinion I live by leave no stone unturned.. I just wanted to make sure. He finds the nail and asks if I want to repair. Cost is 25.00 not bad. They Got the job done but the overall experience was not good... are these employees trained to be rude? As I was backing out they had a pile of tires and it looked like I was going to back into them I knew they were there. They yelled at me to watch out. Instead of yelling and doing nothing clean your space. I felt like they all lacked customer service and friendly communication. The whole time there were like two guys in the garage just staring really felt judged by this whole staff. I had originally gone to another tire shop that i usually go to and was told i needed to replace a tire bc there was a nail in it and it was damaged.. they were trying to charge me $275 for a single tire for my wife's Sienna Van. I was told of GRAND TIRES and to call them. I called and spoke to BRANDIE who answered the phone. She was friendly, and seemed very knowledgeable. I took the van in and explained to them that i had a nail and was told to buy a brand new tire. SCOTT the owner came and told his employee to check and if it can be patched they will repair it. HONEST service! SCOTT was friendly and I'm very appreciative of the honest service. They patched my tire and saved me ALOT of money and didn't try to upcharge me or have me buy another tire (although their pricing was WAY cheaper than any other shops). I've driven by here a bunch of times but recently had my 1st experience and would definitely recommend coming here. I had a screw in my tire and brought it here. Was in and out in less then a few minutes. Super responsive and friendly and they didn't even charge me. I've been a long time loyal Tucker Tire client. I found I had a screw in my tire and saw Tucker Tire was closing within 20 minutes so I rushed over there. The gate was 1/2 closed and there was a sign noting that they had taken there last clients of the day. Tucker is good to their employees so I knew it was a case of "it is what it is" and so recalled this place and headed straight here as their hours were open later than Tucker. They had several customers going and it appeared it might be a little while based on the current line situation. A gentleman walked out of the office and came toward me. I explained about the screw in the tire and he proceeded to remove the screw and test the tire. He took it over to add air and I guess I was lucky it didn't penetrate. He loaded it up and I asked about the charge and he said no charge. I gave him a tip and was on my way. Grand Tire is located on the corner of Grand Ave and E Cienega Ave. not far from either the 10 or 210 freeway and real close to an In and Out if you are going to have tire work done and want to grab a meal. The lot has a few spots and multiple bays as far as parking goes. The staff is super friendly. There is also an upholstery place next door if you need that service too. read more

My initial visit was two weeks ago, brought it in for an alignment. They test drive my car and did an alignment. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Today is my second visit, they patched my flat tire and did a visual inspection. Their alignment price is 85$ and tire repair is 25$.
