This was the worst experience I ever had. The eye doctor doesn't know how to smile and not very friendly. The other CSR's are okay. I had an eye exam. Waited 3 weeks for mycontacts, because they were custom made. I went to pick them up. Very, very uncomfortable, got them on Friday. I called Monday and spoke to Austin, very nice by the way. I told him that my contact ripped in half and part of it was still in my eye. I was at work, and my eye was stinging. I wanted to stop by and have the doctor take it out. He said, Oh sure but she will charge you. He looked up my insurance and said that my insurance, Eye Med. did not cover medical. I'm like medical, yes the doctor will charge you $90-130 dlls to look in your eye. I am like, WHAT to get the 1/2 of contact that you guys ordered for me? Yes, he said. I said what if the contact is not in my eye? OH she will still charge you for just LOOKING in your eye. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, even my co-workers were shocked. Knowing that I was in pain. He said, because it's considered, a foreign object, I said, YES the contact that that YOU GUYS ordered for me..Depending on the severity it could be more $$$ He said he would call me back. Never did, I was in pain all day at work. I had a follow appointment that WED, that I had made on Friday. I left work early to wash out my eye and try to get the 1/2 contact out...Took me an hour and a half but finally found the 1/2 of contact in my very sore/stingy eye by now. I was furious. Called Tuesday, to CANCEL my follow up appointment, Austin said, OH I just ordered you another pair of contacts. I said, no worries, I am calling to cancel my follow up appointment,. I explained to him HOW very, very dissatisfied, I was with the service I received, this is how you treat a new patients? He said he would tell the doctor, but I doubt it..IF the doctor cared she would have called me and apologized. Now I have to find someone else so I can order new contacts. It's been a long time since I've had an eye doctor like this. I used to drive back home (2 hours) to go to my old eye doctor... but with such a busy life, that was pretty hard to keep up yearly - plus it was so hard finding someone that knew how to prescribe the hard contact lenses I've been wearing for the last 20 years. I'm so glad I found Dr. Fu! First of all, there is ample parking - which is always a plus in my book. Second, the staff there are friendly, and know what they are doing. They had my insurance looked up before I even got there so I didn't have to worry about that either. Third, I can't say I've ever had my eyes examined like this before. The equipment looks new and state of the art, and the Dr. was actually surprised when I said I'd never had some of those tests before. She was really nice and took the time to answer all of my questions. I didn't feel like I was being rushed, and I didn't have to wait that long either (After filling out some entrance paperwork, I was taken back within about 2-3 minutes). After having gone back about 3 times in the last month or so for all my hard contact lens fittings and check appointments, I'm very impressed. My contacts are very comfortable, and my vision feels very clear also with my new pair of hard lenses. As for glasses selection, the female optician (forgot her name) helped narrow down my choices - she showed me a wide selection, and I ended up picking the first pair she had me try on (after I tried probably about 15 other ones on). She explained my insurance benefits very clearly to me, and what options that were recommended for my lenses (and why) - yet at no point did I feel like I was being "up-sold". All in all, I'm very happy with my experience there, and I'm glad I finally found someone local to look after my eyes! read more

I've had my last few exams at Grand Vision Optometry & I haven't been disappointed yet. At my last exam, I decided to go with bi-focals to save on the cost of purchasing 2 separate sets of glasses. Dr. Fu took the time to explain why bi-focals would be the better way to go & answered any questions that I had. Once I had completed my exam, I came out anticipating a long search for frames that would work for my face only to find that Adrienne, the wonderful Optician, had already pulled a number of frames for me to try - some that I wouldn't have even thought of myself. I ended up with a fabulous pair of Fish frames in a blue/green color that I constantly get comments on as well a great pair of sunglasses. The team at Grand Vision Optometry is very helpful & professional. I will continue to recommend GVO to my friends & co-workers & will take my sister there when she is due for her next exam. Found out my old optometrist retired end of last year so I'm on a quest to find a new optometrist again. Decided to try out Grand Vision and I had a good experience. First of all the decor of the place is very nice. Compared to my old dr it's night and day. They have the latest in everything, from equipment to lens selection to choice of frames. My exam went very smoothly and on time. (I usually hate waiting) Dr. Fu explained everything and answered all my questions in depth. The technician in the front office (can't remember her name) helped me pick out a pair of nice Gucci frames. Got my glasses last week and they are working great. I love everything about this place. Making the appointment was very pleasant, they send text reminders confirming your appointment, and they provide excellent directions to their location. Once you get there, everyone is so nice and accommodating and the waiting room is stocked with water and drinks. The pretest was quick and easy. The doctor herself was awesome. Very friendly and calm and explained things simply with a smile. She took the time to ask about my eyes and had a terrific chair-side manner. Definitely found my new optometrist! read more

I just got done with my appointment, and this office was very helpful. I am a military spouse, and my husband is based on Camp Pendleton. I saw Dr. Ta who was very infomative and helpful. She was very patient with me too, which was really nice because I have really sensitive eyes. I have absolutely horrible eye sight, so thick glasses are a must. After my previous eye Dr retired after 30+ yrs with him, I needed to find a new Dr. I choose Grand Vision as it was local and close to my home. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. The staff was friendly and helpful. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and they started my exam right away. I highly recomend. I had an emergency and my regular Dr. couldn't see me until after a week by phone and I call grand vision optometry and they schedule an appoinment the following day.
