We saw this location from a TikTok video and of course had to stop by! They were very friendly and excited to hear how we heard of their location. I got plain chicken tacos and my partner got a breakfast burrito. The chicken was cooked great and is juicy but it was very under seasoned. The burrito was thick and a good size. The beans are flavorful and creamy, the bacon (thick) and papas are very good but a bit scarce inside, but the bites with it all combined is very good. Very reasonable pricing and convenient drive through or a small covered seating area is available. read more

3/18/23 Getting breakfast for tomorrow. Ham egg white burritos ordered with hot sauce. Its a little kiosk that you can drive up to. The line was long and not moving. I went up to pick it up since it was called in. Knocked and a worker came & opened. Luckily, it was ready. Poor worker was backed up making orders. She was nice. Paid for the order and it was handed over. Next day! Happy Sunday everyone! Breakfast burrito split. My half was really delicious with big potato and ham pieces. Wow!! Really didn't know what expect here. Little old photo drop off. I drove up to the drive thru and was met by a sweet lady who took my order. Prices reasonable. The food is delicious!!! I had the 2 tacos combination plate. Perfect servings. Plenty of meat on the tacos. Beans and rice were perfect servings and homemade flavor. The service was fast, polite, and you felt that old original authentic vibe and hospitality. You will know it when you come here. Awesome, adorable couple making their living on what they love to do. And for the prices, you can't beat it either. Regardless of the price, I would still come here. The ambiance is so peaceful, chill, and refreshing with the wind blowing hearing the cars pass by. They have 2 round metal patio tables with 4 chairs, and an umbrella for each one. The trees next to the tables give you more shade. Oh man, this place is awesome! The carne asada tacos are SOOOO good! Perfectly cooked corn tortillas, flavorful beef, great, simple toppings. They cut the meat into little pieces which is just the way I like it. More area = more flavor! They're made on the spot and I found myself eating there 3 days in a row and now I'm craving them AGAIN! And that totasta?! Purely fresh cooked corn tortilla, two in fact. Piled with cheese beans and meat. They are unique here and can't be had anywhere else that I'm aware of. I was exited to try this place. It's close to home and I pass by it every night when I leave work. Unfortunately, it just wasn't that great. The beans. Those were very good. Classic creamy, delicious, and fatty authentic beans. I'd recommend them. The rice. Nice rice. It was decent. Kind of plain, but cooked perfectly. Usually small shops overcook their rice (in my experience). The Adobada taco. The meat was salty and over seasoned. I took a bite and got a giant strong spicy mouthful of cumin and California red chili. Not very tasty. All the flavor of the meat was lost to the overpowering spices. The barbocoa taco. The meat was dry and overcooked. This was disappointing. Cooking meat like this is very simple and keeping it moist isn't that hard. The spicing was alright but nothing special. The chili verde taco. This was the best tasting taco I ate. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned. However, I thought it was one of the beef tacos I ordered first. There's just no color to the sauce. And the sauce was so thin, that it completely leaked through the tortilla. The service. The lady that helped me was sweet and kind. She invited me back and chatted nicely to me. She was the best part of the whole experience. When I was giving my bag of food I asked for salsa and the lady who helped me said that she added salsa to my tacos. This wasn't what I wanted. I actually expected to get salsa on the side so I could actually taste it. I'm not even sure if there was salsa on my tacos. If there was, it most likely was not very flavorful. All in all, the price wasn't worth what I got. Take a look at the taco photos I posted. Each taco was different. One was missing lettuce and others cilantro. The inconsistency was disappointing. If I go back, I might just have a breakfast burrito. Eggs are usually hard to get wrong. read more

I got the California burrito which contains asada, potatoes, rice, beans, cheese, onions, cilantro and cabbage (I got salsa on the side). It had no flavor. Just super bland. I really tried to like it here because it is really close to where I live. I even came back for multiple visits, but the quality is consistently pretty poor. There is little to no seasoning on the meat (asada) and the temp of all the food is lukewarm at best. Decided to try a new Taco place when I was going to go for a burger that was right next door. Kinda small and no line; but once I checked in on Yelp and ordered, 4 separate customers came by within 5 minutes. Wow, planned much? I ordered the Menudo and honestly, it was good, but I've had better. Usually, the tripe is supposed to be chopped pieces, this had bits and pieces and then a HUMUNGOUS piece the size of a softball. Not kidding! I really should have snapped a pic before I ate it. Really didn't want to have to finger food this. On a lighter note, it had the right amount of spiciness that I can tolerate without having to run for the nearest grocery store for a gallon of milk. The prices are very reasonable, but they do have a 50 cent charge for Credit/Debit card, dang! I might try them again if I'm in the area. read more

Grandma's Tacos has some of the best tacos on the north end of Fresno. From the start, we were greeted by a sweet old lady that took our order. It's a very small building very easy to miss if you are not looking for it. It may be a small building but it's food is packed with enormous flavor. It is deserving of 5 stars for some tasty food and for great service. I had the Asada burrito and the taco combination plate. The burrito is huge and is pack with a lot of meat. There has to be about 1\2 pound of meat, maybe more. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The tacos were so juicy that I savor each bite of the Rico tacos. Each bite transports you to another world. The burritos and tacos are good by themselves but add some heat with their salsa and you have the perfect bite. The salsa has instant heat the moment you take a bite. It is so good. It has enough heat to satisfy but not too much where I need to grab some milk. However, they use cabbage instead of lettuce. I am not a big fan of cabbage. It still tasted very good. The price is very affordable for the food that you get. This place is perfect for takeout and serves some great tasting food for a quick meal. I give this place a perfect score for a perfect affordable meal. read more

Enjoyable food but not consistent. Whoever is making the food needs to learn what the menu says items contain. There got to be quality control. Last time I got a bean tostada, there was SO much cheese (menu describes it having cheese)--this time NO cheese and sour cream in its place (no clue why). The torte also said it contains beans, and didn't-- but it did have a good serving of asada. So I'd like this place more if they made their items as their menu describes them. Great flavor in the Asada , some of the best , needs salsa on the side to make me happy , i'll ask for more next time . Chile Verde burrito was very good with whole beans as a nice surprise , rice , and a pretty good family recipe CV. Note this is a value priced place near a high school and the state university so young people will go here looking for value . Don't expect sit down restaurant quality or portions , not detracting from the food , just be aware of the surrounding area of the small kiosk . I really want to support new small businesses and thought for lunch that I should stop here. So first, how small can you make a taco, really? I think they sought out the company that makes the smallest tortilla known to mankind (see picture). I put an Echo Dot next to it so you can see the comparison. But then again, what do you expect for $1.25. Next the Asada fries are pretty small as well (about half the size of a typical taco shop). Very little meat, but quite a bit of beans, sour cream and guacamole. For 3 items we ordered, they gave me 1 small taco sauce container. 1... seriously? The quesadilla was pretty big though I am bumping it a star or two because it tasted good. Please take these not as criticism but as notes to improve these little things and I think you'll do great! read more

I have seen this place before and decided to go through the drive thru and try it out. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito. Upon getting my order I asked if I could try one mild salsa and one hot salsa and that question was too hard for the young lady to answer so she turned to the grandma (?) who snapped back "one salsa!" The burrito was ok. Homemade tortilla & beans were ok. It was a pretty small burrito for $3.50. For less than that you can get a bigger one with LOTS of cheese from Don Pepe. The salsa was fantastic! It didn't look that hot but it had a kick! Love that salsa. They may want to work on customer service and being friendly especially when we are trying to "support local ". read more
