This Best Western Plus offers a surprisingly good value with a room that was more spacious and comfortable than I expected along with a beautiful view. There is a Denny's and a convenience store nearby both of which I took advantage of. I am beyond sick and tired of hotels that refuse to buy enough luggage carts to have them available for their guests, and also refuse to enforce any kind of policy that holds guests responsible for returning the carts in a timely manner. Suggestion: If you want a cart you provide a $50 deposit (charged to your room) and if the cart is not returned in 30 minutes you lose the deposit. I should not have to make 8 trips back and forth at check-in AND check-out to shuttle my belongings from a full-size SUV packed for a 3 week roadtrip (everyone knows not to leave a single item in their vehicle overnight). The TV's built-in entertainment system was frustrating to navigate and outdated. I expect easy access to Netflix/Tubi/Prime Video in 2026. I was not given any info about WiFi and I could not find a WiFi signal. Parking is very limited and even more so when the hotel is hosting a party on their back lawn. If management would address some of the issues mentioned above this could be a 5 star Best Western Plus, it certainly has the potential.

It is not.  There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance, though since many of them are across the "highway," you either have to walk a fair distance to reach a legal crosswalk, or take your chances that the Grandview police aren't looking for revenue by way of jay-walkers.  Both times I've stayed here, I've done a thorough check for bed bugs immediately upon entry, and not found any! Yay! More about the beds later...  The rooms are old and dingy, but seem to be clean. Though I could smell old, stale cigarette smoke when I first opened the door, it was almost immediately replaced with a much cleaner, very pleasant scent.  I have no idea if they have different sized beds or rooms, but both times I've stayed there, I had a pretty large room with a queen sized bed, a full sized bath, and a fridge and microwave. One of the two times, there was a quirky tiny stove/sink combo that was part of the fridge. The fridge and freezer worked perfectly, and the fridge part was larger than average for a motel room. The sink part of the concoction worked, but the stovetop was missing the coils. I don't know if it would have worked otherwise. The indicators light up when you turn the knobs. In this room (16), there's a small table with 2 padded chairs and a lamp. The TV sits on a long, low bureau that has 4 large drawers and a lamp. On one side of the bed is a night stand with 2 large drawers and a lamp. I don't recall the setup from the previous room. Also, there are power outlets, but for AC only. If you have devices requiring USB power, you'll need to bring a plug for that. They come with relatively small, but nice enough flat-screen TVs with cable. The remotes have had some issues getting the TVs to turn on, but once I turned the TV on manually, the remote mostly worked fine after that. Not always. Not sure what the issue is. They offer Wifi. I don't recall if I had any issues with it the last time I was here, but I haven't had any issues this time. Works perfectly.  They have in-wall heater/AC units. They are fairly noisy, but I like it that way. It's like built-in white noise. Helpful considering this place sits directly on Wine Country Road. In room 16, there doesn't seem to be a problem with the curtain length/placement, but in room 14, the way the air blows from the unit blows the curtains all over the place. I had to clamp them down with some clamps I happened to have with me that stay, or else those outside would have seen far more of me than they'd like!  The bathtub is a fairly decent size. Not large, but large enough to take a bath in. The water pressure is very good, but unfortunately the shower nozzle sprayer isn't adjustable, and it doesn't really provide an adequate stream with the built-in spray pattern. They would do well to replace the shower heads with newer ones - preferably even handheld ones. They do provide a small bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth, and a floor towel/mat. I would feel a lot more comfortable if they went the extra mile and bought enclosed mattress covers that protect against bed bugs, dust mites, etc... most h/motels these days are using those. This place actually doesn't even use fitted sheets. Just a large flat sheet that is tucked in. Their pillows are comfortable, but stained, and it's kind of gross. I wish those, too, were in zippered cases. I think it's a bit odd that they haven't ponied up to at least buy fitted sheets. Those aren't very expensive, and would go a long way toward the rooms seeming cleaner and more professional, even if it is just a cheap motel room. Little touches still matter.  There isn't, in fact, a swimming pool. There used to be, but it is overgrown now, and has been for as long as I've been patronizing this weird little town.  Their Vacancy sign isn't always truthful. I called one morning because it said there was a vacancy. I'm a night driver, and I needed to get to sleep. I hoped they would allow me to check-in early. But they said they didn't have any rooms available until that night. I said the Vacancy sign was lit, and they said "Yes, it will be vacant later!" It's probably a good idea to call ahead anyway. It is a friendly, family-run business, and I'm pretty sure they live on-site. Sometimes, they're out. If you call ahead, they can arrange to be here when you arrive, or at least tell you when they will be here. If you're a trucker with only a bobtail, they might accommodate you. There are a couple of places they'll allow you to part your bobtail if you're staying here. That was the first reason I ever stayed here, so they won a customer that way!  This isn't a fancy place, so please don't give a crappy review for it not being a nicer place. It's inexpensive and clean. Sometimes, that's all you need!

This was great because we have a toddler and I love being able to explore the space and snap photos without worrying about disturbing other customers. The host was super new to town and the job. Trying to order took a long time because she'd walk away to a far away space (kitchen?) to check on each question. "Can we still order food?" Walks away. "Does the charcuterie plate have any goat or sheep cheese?" Walks away. "I'd like the x tasting and the charcuterie platter." Walks away to put in the charcuterie order (instead of pouring the first wine). I wish she could have texted someone or used a computer/tablet to communicate with the kitchen... or had an experienced person there to provide guidance/training. Eventually we got the snacks and wine. They were each... okay. The wine tasting was a bit awkward because she was reading the descriptions (for the first time??) and seemed surprised by some of the flavors/notes mentioned. I can see us visiting again if we're for some reason in town for an event and the event happens to be here, but I'd rather explore other wineries if it's just us or a group of friends exploring Prosser wine tastings.

Experience a wine tasting in the quiet serenity of the wine country. This is the experience that is advertised on the website and we paid handsomely for it. This dreamy experience is just that: a dreamy image of what this could be which could not be further from the truth. Instead, we were met with rude indifferent service, a room that we could not easily leave past 5 PM (or 7 PM if you're lucky to be here Friday-Saturday), a loud uncomfortable room, and poor quality wine. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT A WINE COUNTRY EXPERIENCE; ONLY STAY HERE IF YOU ACTIVELY SEEK OUT DISAPPOINTMENT. What was supposed to be an incredible afternoon and evening in the wine country turned out to be a disappointment. The expectations created by the property in its advertisement plummeted the second we set foot on the property. The warm welcoming mentioned in previous recent reviews was no where to be seen when we arrived at the property on May 29, 2025 at around 12:30 PM. A cold and rather indifferent hostess meets us, no greeting, no welcoming remarks but a cold "what do you need". The hostess only expressed distain that we were checking in, giving us an annoyed glare while informing us that check-in was not allowed until 3 PM despite the hotel being seemingly empty. In the same annoyance and disdain, she told us that all information we needed should be in an email (that never arrived) and the turned her back to us and walked away. We did not expect an early check in, we just wanted to make sure that all of the information is there and whether there was more to do about it prior to us getting our room. The attitude was entirely discouraging and unwarranted and it continued to do so over the course of the next couple of hours while we waited for 3 PM. It was only when we said that the email did not arrive she begrudgingly gave us the information on a card with a random code without any explanation roughly 30 minutes after we arrived. In hindsight, that meant the room was ready, but she did not bother to tell us that fact nor inform us what the code represented. While we waited, we sat down for a glass of wine. The hostess continued to treat us like we were unwelcome guests being incredibly rude and lacked curtesy at every turn. No smiles, no small talk about the place, no indication on what to expect from our stay based on what was advertised on the website regarding the tasting and other opportunities of the sort. No wine recommendations were given nor what to expect from our choices nor any indication that she would be happy to help at all with our questions. She just coldly informed us that there are no truffle fries or soup. We proceeded to "guess" what wines would be to our liking based on previous experiences. We tried four different wines by the glass and truthfully, the wine was rather mediocre which fueled the unexpectedly unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. Bad wine and bad attitude just don't mix well together for a great experience. This was topped up by a very slow service (45 minutes with nobody else in the restaurant) for a Caesar salad and warm bread with butter. Once 3 PM rolled around, we were not shown or told where to go, instead we were left to figure it out which was difficult as the place is big. We finally found our way to our room where we were met with the startling insight that the rest of the property closes at 5PM (or 7 PM Friday- Saturday) no dinner service, no bar service, no access to the back patio. All nicely taped to the door. This made it sound like we were practically only allowed to be in our room after 5 PM (or 7 PM Friday-Saturday) with no control of the thermostat and a massive highway outside, polluting the room with unpleasant smells of gasoline and constant car noise. This "curfew" made us feel hostages in our own room. After 5 PM and before 11 AM, all you have available for "leisure" is the hallway with all the rooms and the side door. No staff around, nothing. Just a hallway and a side door. The all-inclusive feel is cut short by the lack of a breakfast option or any other hospitality services. In order to get dinner, miles down the road (goodbye wine tasting experience elsewhere - the place is not walkable, so one must drive there), we had to exit through a back door, down a metal staircase, that leads you behind the dumpsters and makes you feel like a criminal. Overall this experience was not at all what was advertised by the property. This was an extremely expensive room with worse service than a comfort inn. I felt like I was living an episode of Gordon Ramsey's Hotel Hell. I cannot recommend at all that anyone spends this kind of money for this experience. 1/10 would actively avoid this and everyone should.

Only about a 30 minute drive to Richland, Wa. We at at a Mexican place called Las Palomas. My husband picked it up at take out as we had a dog with us. We ordered their tacos and they were some of the best we have had in a long time, They were delicious as well as authentic, and we would have had some for breakfast if they were open then. The cost was very reasonable. The hotel is dog friendly and lots of places to walk you dog. There is an outside patio you can eat at and I believe has a bar b que. One of the things I found on this trip...Only about two of the hotels we stayed in on our 3 wk trip to ND had freezers. And they were missing the little knob that adjusted that temp. We always carry a portable thermometer with us so we can know what the temp. But both places said it is because people take them. We have had mini refrigerators at every hotel but most of them have no freezers anymore.

The final nail in the coffin of this place is the A/C was extremely noisy all night. I would urge the owners to re-evaluate staff training and operations processes in order to make some quick changes which would drastically improve my review.
