Strip mall local bar serving pasta, burgers and pizza . I was about to have a slice of pizza to save myself from spending too much money in a whole pizza until the customer next to me slammed her menu against the glass case startling a fly on the pizzas. I decided to order stuffed pasta shells. The shells were prepared earlier in the day and chewy. Most of our food was served on throw away plates and cheap plastic utensils. I was looking forward to a local beer. If you like Coors on tap, this may be for you. We visited Granfanallys for the first time tonight and were very pleased with both the meal and the service. It's worth noting also that they have a sign explaining that its full service at the bar, or order at the counter and they bring food out. I saw another reviewer had mentioned this, so a lot of people were probably confused as well. service was excellent and all the staff were very courteous. Between ordering and.delivery we dealt with 2 or 3 employees. At different times there were also two women walking by tables to check on.our meals. For pizza, they have New York or Sicilian style pizza. I ordered the sicilian called."The Romantic" which had just the right amount of tomatoes, garlic and basil. My wife ordered Chicken cacciatore, which had a good portion size as well. I feel it important to note that the sicilian takes appx 30 minutes, so plan accordingly. We were told this when ordering. Personally I hope that they stay the best kept secret in the area. The pizza was some of the best I've had in awhile. Well worth the trip. The only downside was that it can get loud in there, as there was a large group watching the game. We'll be back soon. read more

I currently have in my possession 10 garlic knots from this establishment. As I stare at them, my mouth waters with like the mighty Niagara herself. My whole body floods with anticipation as I slowly bring the delectable knot to my mouth. Once it finally touched my tongue, my whole tastebuds erupted with joy. This experience was pure nirvana. Great pizza but no social distancing at all. Even the bar tender was talking to a table and took his mask off. a family of 5 walked in wearing no masks and walked around the place like they owned it, and nobody stopped them. It seemed like the staff actually encouraged it. Our table was dirty even though the cleaning supplies were left there. my beer had so much foam on it that I though someone drank some of it when my husband got it to the table. i'm finding it very difficult to support local restaurants when they can't follow guidelines. i would never go here again. I got the garlic crust pizza and cinnamon knots and it was a disappointment. the cinnamon knots where hard as a rock, so beyond the stage of being able to eat them. We had Granfanallys cater my brother's surprise 50th birthday party at the Salem Elks for 80 people. We got a full Italian meal - salad, ziti, meatballs, sausage, chicken parm, bread and pizza at the beginning of the night. Then a six foot sub at the end of the night. The food was hot and delicious. They delivered and set up both times. They provided plates, plasticware, napkins, and condiments. Definitely would use them again for an event. They were easy to work with in planning stage and very responsive. read more

Mediocre. Regular pizza 6 out of 10. It needed more time in the oven. My fiancé liked this burger but the fries weren't cooked all the way which is a huge disappointment. They do have a lot of good beers on tap and a cool ambiance. We will go elsewhere for pizza next time. read more

After standing and waiting 30 minutes for a steak a cheese sub, 2 slices of pizza to be heated, and 2 cinnaknots I had to check on our order to go. Lucky I checked the order. They forgot the knots. I just placed an online order at Granfanallys. I ordered a kids chicken finger which was suppose to come with french fries and it did not. There were 2 chicken tenders and they were the size of cutlets. They were not that good either and my son would not eat them. Good thing I also ordered a side of fries for myself otherwise he wouldn't of had any at all. The French fries were actually very good though. I also ordered a pizza with caramelized onions, ricotta cheese and pulled pork. I found only minimal pulled pork on the pizza at best. It was a great disappointment and not worth the cost. The crust was dry and difficult to chew. I'm more upset about the money I wasted on the food that I ordered and did not receive. read more

I would have rated this 5 stars a couple months ago. My husband and I moved to the East Coast 7 years ago. We have searched high and low for a great pizza, then we found Granfanally's. We determined it was the best pizza on the East Coast. We were going there 3 or 4 times a week. I'm addicted to the spinach and artichoke pizza. However, in the last month the pizza has gone down in quality. It's not as crispy and has hardly any cheese. It has become hit or miss, depending on who is making the pizza. My family and I went last night when we found out our favorite pizza place was closed. We were expecting nothing out of the ordinary but it ended up being some of the best pizza we had ever had! The fries are hand cut and delicious! I have to admit they were a little soggy when we got home to eat them but nothing a toaster can't fix! The pizza was absolutely marvelous and so were the onion rings. The pizza even looked like a good amount of effort was put into it as well. It had the right amount of dough, cheese, and pizza! And the onion rings didn't completely fall apart when we ate them like most do! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and you will surely not be disappointed! Drove about thirty minutes just to come to this specific restaurant after my boyfriend's sister had recommended it. Then proceeded to sit ourselves (no staff to help out) and look at the menu. We ordered a couple of pizzas and french fries, fairly pricey $60 if someone is willing to spend that on pizza. After 30 minutes we had not received any of our order. The fries came at about 35 minutes after waiting, and the pizzas after 50. The food was good but totally NOT worth the wait. This pizza is legit. Great for southeastern NH and I'd say the best in Salem. The draught beer selection is great, ever changing and reasonably priced. The restaurant is awesome for both take out and eat in. Cool atmosphere, friendly bar tenders and servers. The main reason they get 5 stars tho is the pizza. There are a lot of bad pizza places in Salem and Granfanallys is such a refreshing departure from bad Salem pizza. The crust is crispy and airy (not bland, doughy and chewy like many Salem spots). The sauce is tasty and proportioned correctly, the cheese is flavorful also proportioned correctly, and the toppings and specialty pizzas are great. I drive down to NYC and Boston for pizza regularly so I'm kind of a pizza snob but Granfanallys hits the spot. They know how to make not only classic pizza but their Sicilian is also delicious. I appreciate what Granfanallys brings to Salem and my one regret is that I am not able to go there more often. Keep it up Granfanallys! read more

Ordered pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, salad and hot wings They brought a cheese pizza to our table, we sent it back. When pepperoni came out it was obvious they added pepperoni to the cheese and reheated it. It was a soggy mess but we were hungry. Taste was good. Garlic knots were tough to chew and lacked real flavor. Hot wings were ok, nothing stellar I think if pizza was fresh I would have been happy. The other issue was having to stand somewhere to order a beer. There are no waiters so if you want anything you have to get it yourself. We would have ordered a total of four beers if there was waitstaff. read more

Our new favorite go to place after work! We always start with the garlic knots because they come out quickly. While we wait for our meals we eat the knots with red sauce and cheese. They have coke fountain drinks which is a plus for us. We have tried the calzones, pizza, almost every salad, and wings. All are amazing. Everyone agrees the burgers and hand cut fries are delicious. The waitstaff are all equally friendly and accommodating. Once before we left they brought out the cinnamon knots for us to try. To die for!!!!!!!! read more
