Specifically asked if the $79 would be all that would be needed out of pocket. Was assured no other costs to me as my Insurance was covering the rest. Received a bill 18 months later asking for 0ver $250 more. Went in to the Maple Grove office and ended up settling for $55 which was appreciated -- although should have been $0. Staff friendly and understandably not their fault.... That being said Just a word of caution to beware of billing practices not quite in line with actual verbal assurances. "In writing" as usual a good practice. (18 months to receive a bill also makes a person wonder... was told they had just recently started using a new system)

I was referred to this retina specialist by my optometrist this last December. The earliest they…read morecould get me in was today, January 8th. Walking into the office, I can see why it took 3 weeks for me to get in. The place was so busy! There were people waiting to check in. The whole lobby area (there's 2 waiting areas) was jam packed and the hallway had a half dozen people chillin as well. I finally got checked in and got my new patient paperwork handed to me. Since the waiting area was full i went to the hallway and sat out there. Got my paperwork all filled out, turned out in and chilled. Not gonna lie, I waited a bit minute. Finally I was called to get my eyes photographed. Was sent back out to the waiting room and was called back in 15 minutes later. Did my next series of tests, got numbed and dilated. I kicked it in this dark "dilation" room for a bit and then was escorted to the exam room. I honestly didn't know what was in store for me with this appointment. I honestly thought I was getting looked at not treated. Well, the dr came in and he was so kind! He walked me through the whole process and assured me that everything was going to be ok. I have a hemorrhage in my eye and unfortunately the only way to fix it was to inject the medication in it. I was numbed several times. And while the dr was adding a anti bacterial solutionin my eye he injected me with the medication. I didn't feel a thing! He was so smooth about it. He got me all squared away and was told I will be seeing him again in 4 weeks. I can see why some of the reviews were so negative. The choas of all the people and waiting time is such a turn off. Even though I felt like I was waiting for an eternity for the dr, but once I got rolling it was a pretty smooth process. I appreciate the dr, his kindness and his delicate touch. My eye is killing me now that the numbing agent is gone but I like that they went above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable during the whole treatment process

I'm confident in saying that Six One Six is by far, one of the best vision care facilities I have ever been to. I came here because they were one of the few places that took my horrible vision insurance from a previous job I had. I finally moved companies and now have exceptional coverage, yet found no reason to switch providers, regardless of the abundance of in-network and closer vision options to me. I have never experienced any issues regarding care, appointments, communication or billing in the 4 years I've been a customer. In fact, I've experienced exceptionally personalized, professional and authentic care from day one. I've had the absolute pleasure of being Dr Shelby Strick's patient from the get-go and am consistently comforted by her attention to detail, assurance and easy-to-understand explanation on everything I'm experiencing. Allie is usually the one that takes care of me with picking out eyewear, fittings and reviewing my bill. Honestly, if any errors have been made, they are quick to resolve even if it's not their fault and are out of their control. After a considerable waiting period, I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Martinez. The…read moredoctor's consultation was professional, informative, and pleasant. Four days before the first of two scheduled surgeries, I spoke with one of his staff. During this discussion, I raised the issue that this surgery has, statistically speaking, a 98% success rate. What had been, up to that point, a pleasant interaction became uncomfortable when I asked a question about this. Based on the first response I received, I believed that the person didn't understand the question, as she gave a totally irrelevant answer. After reformulating the question two more times, where it couldn't have possibly been misunderstood, and receiving answers that only deflected the question, I became frustrated. She suggested that I ask the office manager. Two days later, I spoke with the office manager. I told her that her coworker had refused to answer a question I had. I explained that I had repeated the question numerous times, so she either didn't want to answer it, or lacked the cognitive ability to understand it. From the immediate confrontational reaction of this person--who didn't even ask what my question was--it was clear that her coworker had already informed her of her version of the story. To avoid more frustration, I simply hung up. Here is the question the staff refused to answer: "If I am one of the statistical 2% who are unhappy with the result of this surgery, what recourse do I have?" If the office disputes this, they can post the unedited audio of the two conversations I had with the staff. Since I couldn't get an answer about the doctor's policy regarding negative surgical outcomes, I called the office the following day, a Friday late afternoon. I was told immediately, after identifying myself, that both my appointments for surgery had already been canceled, without anyone informing me of this decision. The first one was scheduled for the following Tuesday. The question that they refused to answer was, "If I'm one of the 2% with problems after the surgery, what is my recourse?"

He left the room, went and checked with his staff who apparently told him that they had told me to come in and they would figure out what type of visit it would be when I got there. He came back in and apologized but I could tell he was still angry. Totally inappropriate reaction! The office staff was absolutely wonderful, but I will never go there again.

I understand that sometimes medical offices have sort of random hours but they are also operating a retail establishment and for it to be closed on for example, the third Thursday of the month, is just ridiculous.
