Good customer service and merchandise @ Grange Co-op in Medford, OR. ! I was in search of a few things and stopped here to see what's what. Upon entry, I was greeted by a young man who was standing behind the check out counter. He also asked if I needed any assistance. I told him what I was looking for and he pointed me in the right direction. The store was exceptionally clean and organized. I noticed they had a large selection of pet supplies and seasonal items. I live near the Grange near my home and have always shopped there for many years. The last time I was there I bought a flag pole before the 4th of July holiday. I was having a hard time figuring out how it went together while there in the store. She tried to help me and opened the package there at the register. There were a few pieces in the bag that we couldn't figure out together and after some time I told her I would just take it home and do it myself. When I got home to to read the directions I realized that there was a plastic ring, one of the two needed, that wasn't in the bag that the flag came in. I looked all through my car and even in my house thoroughly. After a half an hour of frantically searching for it , I went back to the store and told the person who sold it to me that the small ring was missing. She told her supervisor on the phone what happened. She said that he told her there was nothing he could do about it. I was shocked that he didn't tell her to open one of the packages and give me a replacement. After all she is the one who could have misplaced the little ring when she opened the bag in the first place. Now it wasn't an expensive pole, it was only around 10 dollars. I could have just purchased another one, but good customer service from the manager would have just replaced the missing ring from another bag and I would be on my way. I felt confused at the whole incident by the time I got to my car. I went back into the store and set the flag pole back on the counter. I told her that she could keep the flag pole that I had just paid for, because it was no good to me if I couldn't hang the flag without the little plastic ring. I am so sorry to say I will not be shopping at the grange ever again. I have spent lots of money there during the last 20 years, but it is the principle of the matter that I stand by. Unfortunately we had plans on purchasing 4 pallets of feed and some fence items however, my husband wanted some jeans so we went there first. He went and asked the lady nearby if he can try them on. She said yes and he went in the fitting room that was unlocked. She then proceeded to get on the radio that a customer just helped himself in the room without her help. She then asked how many items. He stated 3. She got mad because she didn't unlock the door and it was left unlocked. There is a sign on the door but no where does it say to ask for assistance before entering. He did that out of courtesy. I overheard the whole thing about her rudeness on the radio which she made a scene in general where other customers could here. I then asked my husband to not try on the jeans and come out immediately. He was in there for not even 20 seconds and she proceeded to question him as if he stole. Um excuse me. He's wearing old jeans and had zero anywhere on him other than the original 3 he had in his hands walking in with. Then she got an attitude with me because she wanted to know what she did wrong. She ran to her manager who was nice however, I was getting so mad at how we were treated I didnt even want to speak to him. We handed over our cart and walked out. Sad that not only did they lose a huge sale but a customer now. We did not get the ladies name but she had her hair up, dark hair and slim. read more

Big Carhartt Sale, just before Father's Day 2024. 25 % off is nice, but the pants I wanted were marked UP $10 from MSRP or other stores I've shopped in. Needless to say, I didn't buy them there, I can go on Amazon and get them for $59.99 not $69.99, or Carhartt.com and get the $60 price with free shipping. Note: This was at the new store in White City, Or, I had already purchased a pair of the pants at their Hwy 99 Store in Medford. For $59.99 - 25 %. I was hoping to find another color in my size. They had another color, but I'm not paying $10 extra. Maybe they just mark EVERYTHING in the new store up by $10 or so to help pay construction costs ? Like always, Buyer Beware. read more

They have the best selection of everything you need for your home, with better prices than going to a huge chain store (ie. Lowes, Home Depot, etc.). We've been doing a lot of hole renovations since we moved here about a month ago, both to the inside and the outside of our home. By far, Grange Co-Op has been phenomenal regarding their stock and prices! Their plant selection is wonderful! They carry plants that I've been looking for since we moved down here! We've been to several nurseries and I must say they have great selections on trees, herbs, veggies, you name it! Employees are quite nice (EXCEPT for the red-headed cashier...multiple times I've asked her a question about finding something or information regarding a product, and I'm brushed off as if I'm imposing in her sweeping around the register area. Not being mean, that's literally what she was doing. I try to approach employees when they're not with other customers). Anywho, the other employees have been quite nice and helpful to us new customers, and the only reason we return time and time again, we just try to avoid that one cashier lol. read more

The Grange has gone from a great feed and plant source to primarily overpriced clothing, jewelry, and knickknacks. Their customer service is, for the most part, underwhelming. There are a few people who understand their department, like Don and Theresa at the CP location. But largely there are long waits to get assistance. Very few employees can give information about the plants, as far as what pollinators they sustain, are they nic free, bug free, etc. And their policy of putting tape on every single thing to prove you didn't steal it is downright insulting. Additionally, they take no responsibility for selling chicks and ducklings that die within days. I bought 8 ducklings a few years ago, and only 5 survived the week. The manager Steve at the GP store told me that it was probably due to the way I handled them! I have had poultry for 15 years but suddenly with these particular birds I didn't handle them correctly?!? As a beekeeper, I am disgusted by that section. They have very few items, mostly stuff that beekeepers want or need. They often have only one or two of each items, and the selection is garbage. The staff clearly have no idea about the products they sell, and try to bullshit their way through questions. The management has no intention of carrying anything beside the few items in stock. As much as I would like to support this regional company, I have given up on them and just go to Coastal. read more

Me and my girlfriend always go in to get bedding and food for our rabbits and the elderly ladies at the register are always cold and unfriendly. It's always a horrible experience at the registers. I want to give a 10/10 to the loaders who load our big bags of bedding and food because no matter rain or shine they are always happy and friendly. read more

The best customer service. I ordered four gallons of Endure Fly Spray for my horses. The Grange Co Op offered the best price I could find anywhere. Fed Ex delivered the box and dropped it on its top. The box was clearly marked "Fragile, this end up". All four gallon bottles broke and when I found them in my parcel bin, the liquid had run out on the ground. I contacted Brett through customer service at the Grange Co Op. Brett and I communicated on the phone and on email. I sent Brett pictures of the damaged bottles. Brett replaced all four bottles and packaged the bottles with extra packing. I received the bottles in great shape at no extra cost to me. The replacement box was delivered on its side. Yes, it was labeled, "Fragile, this end up". Both Brett and I filed claims with Fed Ex. Fed Ex did not compensate Grange Co Op. It is hard to find good customer service. I was very pleased with the effort Brett put forth to help meet my expectations. Thank you Brett. Great job. read more

Horrible. Plants are often root bound, too dry or just not healthy. Staff is impatient and knows little about the stock. This shop is not customer focused at all. Don't bother calling to find out if they have what you need. Long wait times and the person who answers knows nothing, connects to yard staff with long wait time again. Better places to spend plant dollars. read more

When you are approaching seventy it occurs to you there is much you know, even more you have forgotten, but more importantly what the word improvise turely means. The Grange Co-op has been there for me for over fifty years, all though it has changed a bit, and today was no different. I had to come up with a gate/fence to keep those Mama and Papa Geese from chasing the dogs. I drove to the back yard and found a man named Rick and I told him of my dilemma. Rick helped me devise a plan that was inexpensive, sturdy, easy for me to handle, and reliable. I went inside and paid for my horse fence and added the more than reasonable cutting fee and went back to Rick. He was so incredibly helpful, kind and considerate. I am so appreciative. You have no idea. Now the dogs are safe up on the porch and I can sit in the early morning and late evening and just simply enjoy it all. Thanks to Rick. I *used to* shop this store frequently, but after recent experiences I'll never come here again. This store started a huge remodel at the beginning of the year so was still in full construction mode at the start of spring and the busiest season. The store itself has been expanded and the nursery looks to be at least three times the size as previously. The sad thing is, no new staff have been hired, so lines are long and slow with only one cashier, there is hardly any pricing on the majority of items, and a good half the plants seem to be dying or already dead. I made my last visit this week and was appalled at the lack of attention shown throughout. Not only do the owners of this mess not care about their staff by keeping them overworked (and no doubt underpaid), but certainly don't care in the least about their customers as evidenced by poor quality merchandise and many inconveniences. It is not easy to shop here anymore. What happened? I can only surmise that the Grange has been bought out by some huge corporate conglomerate, showing more interest in revenue than people. This is unsustainable, and will go the way of Home Depot and their ilk. A sorry end to a once thriving and locally owned business. read more

I have the same issues with the "new" south Medford Grange Co-op as Maniac J. Dead or dying plants, few prices on plants and not much customer service. Most of the staff are helpful and friendly but there aren't enough. And they don't know prices. I know my sister pointed out this problem to a woman at the desk and was met with a rude "We're working on it." No apology, no offer to help, no eye contact. I used to shop here all the time but have reduced the frequency of my visits because of changes. The new configuration of the store doesn't make sense - what's with the big L shaped section that is cut off from the rest of the store? I used to be willing to pay a little extra at this store because of nice plants and good customer service. Not any more. read more

Mice, be gone! Wonderful customer service from Logan and Drew at the South Medford Grange. Logan went above and beyond helping come up with a solution for my recent rodent infestation. She knew just which products to recommend, with personal experience having used them at her farm! I'll definitely be coming back to this store with any future home and garden questions. read more

I needed to purchase a gate for a horse enclosure. Dennis and his manager, Joe, were amazingly helpful in finding what I needed as well as compiling all the necessary hardware. Everything was done over the phone with my worker being able to pick the item up the same day. Couldn't have been easier! Employees are knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. Grange Coop will be my "go to place" from now on. Forget about Big R & their understaffing, low inventory, damaged merchandise! read more
