Yup, nice folks and they try hard to take good care of their clients. I have appreciated them for our condo. Thanks!

    Hauserman Rental Group

I used Hauserman for a long term lease when i lived in Tahoe City and they were hands down the best…read morecompany i leased from during my years there. They were responsive if we had any issues and were an overall pleasure to rent from. I lived in about 4 different houses up there and definitely dealt with some shady slum lord types, so it was very refreshing to rent from a kind, professional group like Hauserman. I visit Tahoe often since i moved back to southern CA and Hauserman are the first rental group i look to when i am booking a place. I also appreciate their emails notifying me of deals. Their staff is kind and helpful and i have had nothing but good experiences with the locations i have rented. I hate to see the negative feedback on some of the other reviews, but as a former Tahoe local, i am not surprised by some of the complaints and exaggerated comments. Tahoe has an economy that relies heavily on tourism and most people are very respectful of the locals, the housing, and the environment, but sadly there are always a few that are not. As renters and visitors to such a beautiful and fragile place, it saddens me to see people letting their dogs poop on people's carpets or complain about rules and cleaning fees (which i know are clearly stated from my experience with Hauserman). These are often the people who do the same outside in the forest and at the lake and lack respect for surrounding people and areas just because they happen to be on vacation. As a child, we rented out our vacation home in Tahoe City and I remember guests damaging things like board games or decor (and luckily not anything more severe like doors or carpet). Guests need to remember that they although they are paying for an experience, they are staying in people's homes and in one of the most beautiful environments on earth and hopefully they can be respectful of that.

Here are the facts of what happened to me when I tried to rent a house from Hauserman: ⁃I found a rental property that was suitable for my group, filled out the booking form, signed the rental agreement, and paid the initial payment. ⁃Weeks later, I got an email that said my rental had been canceled, with no indication as to why. ⁃I had to call them and ask what happened. They stated that the owner had decided they wanted to stay there that weekend, so they simply canceled my stay, despite the signed rental agreement. ⁃They were unhelpful in finding an alternative location, offering only another one of their properties that had less bedrooms and a worse location. ⁃I tried to work with them and asked to be transferred to other properties in their portfolio that were suitable for our group and more equivalent to our original rental, but they refused to allow us to transfer to one of those unless I paid the difference, despite Hauserman being the one that canceled our original rental. Just be aware that Hauserman can and will cancel your rental at any point and then basically tell you to pound sand.

One star. Unfortunately, my experience with Tahoe Rental Company was extremely disappointing, and I…read morewould be very hesitant to rent another property managed by them. I rented one of their West Tahoe properties for roughly $600 per night, and the condition of the home was nowhere close to what was represented in the listing photos. The exterior photos showed nicely maintained grounds and visible gravel pathways. In reality, much of it was overgrown, the gravel paths were barely noticeable, and there were small pieces of trash, wrappers, pens, zip ties, snow shovels, snow salt, and other miscellaneous items left around the property. It simply did not have the maintained appearance shown in the advertisement. The inside was considerably worse. Both bathrooms were disappointing, and the tubs and showers were dirty, stained, worn, and nowhere near what I would expect from a property renting at this price. I have genuinely stayed in inexpensive roadside motels with cleaner bathrooms. The biggest issue was the area rugs throughout the home. Multiple rugs had visible staining and smelled strongly of dog urine. I had my service dog with me, and although this is a pet friendly property, that should not mean guests are expected to stay in a home containing urine stained rugs. My dog repeatedly put her nose directly into numerous rugs and intensely sniffed the same areas. Anyone familiar with dogs knows exactly why a dog becomes that interested in spots on a carpet. Between what I could visibly see and smell, the rugs clearly needed far more than routine cleaning. I contacted Tahoe Rental Company almost immediately after checking in around 5 p.m. and explained the condition of the property. I did not receive a response until the following morning. They offered to send a cleaning crew, but at that point I explained that this was not something a quick cleaning visit was going to correct. Urine stained area rugs, worn bathrooms, and the overall condition of the property require actual maintenance and replacement, not someone coming through with cleaning supplies. The property was also marketed as being in a peaceful setting. If you know the West Tahoe area and know the locally recognizable gentleman who rides around on a bicycle with rainbow lights, a Pride flag, and amplified music, he lives next door. To be clear, the flag or lights were not the issue. The noise was. Around 7 p.m. the music was loud enough that I contacted management about it and was essentially told there was nothing they could do because quiet hours did not begin until 9 p.m. That may technically comply with their rules, but describing the property as peaceful certainly did not match my experience. After the stay, I requested a partial refund of $700, not a full refund. Considering the nightly rate and the condition of the property, I thought that was a reasonable attempt to resolve the situation. Tahoe Rental Company declined the requested refund. I then went through Airbnb, documented the issues with photographs, and Airbnb ultimately provided me only $150. What bothers me most is that this is not simply a matter of me disliking the decor or having unrealistic expectations. I documented the actual condition of the property. I sincerely believe that if someone in upper management at Tahoe Rental Company personally walked through this home and compared it with the listing photographs, they would be surprised that it is being represented and rented in this condition. For approximately $600 a night, I expected a clean, properly maintained vacation home that reasonably resembled what I booked. That is not what I received. Look closely at the photos I have attached and decide for yourself. I would have rather stayed in a hotel, and based on how my concerns and refund request were handled, I would not rent through Tahoe Rental Company again.

The place was not remotely close to what was advertised. Their mentions of interior design and decor did not match up with the scribbles on walls, chipped and broken furniture, and torn leather chairs that we actually found when we arrived. The worst part was how dirty the property was. They charged a bunch of money for a cleaning fee which would have been fine if the property was actually clean. There were stains on the sheets, bugs, cobwebs, and food on the plates and silverware. Also, a complete lack of communication when Airbnb tried to get in touch with them to resolve the issues. We just ended up going somewhere else. Absolutely terrible. The photos speak for themselves.

Dave and his team are not only professional, but he is kind and very hard working. Criterion Properties services both of my vacation homes in Tahoe and I have referred them out to a couple others as well. My two homes have had many renters, but still look great. Dave has had to deal with renters locking themselves out, spilling wine on the couch, and losing guest/parking passes, but he's always calm and quick to resolve the situation. He eventually transitioned us to another member of his team, but Brent showed concern for our house as if it was his own. A+ all around. I don't write many Yelp reviews but this is warranted. He and his team are exceptional.

I reached out to them minutes after they listed a rental on Chief Kelly Drive, and followed their application policies. Showing agent Leslie Robbins called me the following morning to let me know I was first in line and would have the first opportunity to see the rental and apply. She also stated that Sunday would be the first opportunity to see it. When I arrived for the appointment on Sunday, Leslie informed me that someone else had already submitted an application. I questioned her multiple times about how it was possible that someone else had already applied when she told me I was first in line and she responded that they just got a new application system and that somehow someone was able to submit an application and they can only process one application at a time, so if that person is approved then the rental is theirs. I called the office and spoke with owner Craig Adachi. I explained the situation and he said he would speak with Leslie to get her take on the situation. He called me back two days later after I'd left another voicemail message. He said Leslie told him that I was second in line and that she showed the property to this other individual on Friday because they were first in line. I again explained to Craig that Leslie told me I was first in line for this property and he said that it was my word against hers and that he believes her. I suppose it is her word against mine. Leslie lied to me and lied to the company's owner. She cheated the system (I'm sure for a friend). How can anyone trust a company like this? I can almost guarantee that I am a more qualified renter than this other individual, so their client (the homeowner) also loses out. What a terrible way to do business. I'm disheartened by the way this was handled, and a bit disappointed in humanity.
