I had a hard time finding a place to park, due to the abundance of vehicles already taking up all of the spots. I drove for over an hour looking for a place to park. I eventually drove back to my home in Indianapolis, Indiana and took an Uber to Tracks. It was a long drive, but I gave the nice driver some very enlightening life advice as a tip. He was receptive, grateful and kissed my hand as I exited the vehicle. When I walked into Tracks for the first time, I knew I was in the wrong place. So I walked out the door and entered again. The second time, I knew I was still in the wrong place. I decided to ask some people in the shirt section what was going on and why there were no horses in here. No cashiers. No tickets littering the floors. They seemed genuinely confused, and offered me nosatisfying answer. I noticed a tall gentleman working behind the counter and thought "finally!, a guy who knows what's going on!". To the best of my recollection this was our conversation: "Hello, sir, I enjoy your location but dislike the parking options, could you point me to the horses" "Sorry about the parking it can be bad on the weekends. What horses do you mean?" "The racehorses, the ponies, where is the TRACK?" "Sir, we are a record store and sell IU merchandise, I think you might have us confused with someone else." "of course not, I knew all along" In an attempt to play off my blunder, I shimmied to the shelves containing large circular music. I browsed through their selection not knowing what to do next. My car was in Indianapolis, I spent all of my money on a Uber, and now I am pretending to want to buy circular music. When they weren't looking I did a military crawl out of the door. I am sure it is a good place if you want circular music or IU merchandise.

My hubby was in heaven looking around and told me I am officially in charge of making yelp use a 6 star system so I can give them 6 stars. They have wall to wall and several aisles stocked full of product. They even have a buy 2 items under $3 get the 3rd item under $3 free. They have loads of dvds/blurays, cds, some books/manga, old and new games and systems, and some awesome collectibles. The employees definitely were the cherry on top. He was telling us about the setup of the store, deals the have and about their trade in policies (which are the states policy and super intense to stop stolen items from being sold. They even do fingerprints). My husband is officially obsessed with this store and if he could live here he would. We had to go back to the hotel to grab a game to trade in and on the way back he said "I love this place. I know we aren't there but I'm going to talk like we are because my soul is there". I have no doubts we will be back. We ended up getting a few different things and we were pleased with everything.

What was even better was their variety of vinyl, and I ended up purchasing two LPs and one CD. Prices for either medium were either reasonable for used or overpriced, not really in the middle. A lot of their collection, including the CDs, is behind glass, which makes it not as easy for a shopper to quickly check out the inventory before buying.

I popped into Karma Records after a few times driving by it. Who knew where was such a slapper of a…read morerecord store on the east side? Apparently, many people knew, because Karma has been around since 1970, and it's the oldest record store in Indianapolis. OK! I'm obviously late to the game. Usually, I visit record stores just to browse, but this time, I visited to find a specific album. But when I asked the kind people behind the counter to look up the album for me, I found out the album that I had in mind was actually out of print! So I could order it online, but it would cost like five hundred dollars or some obscene amount. The helpful people at Karma offered to order other albums by the same artist. But I didn't want that, and instead just browsed the selection of records that Karma. There are a lot of records here. Surely, if you're not dead set on a specific out-of-print record like me, you will find something here. They also have CDs. And the cool people at Karma are willing to order whatever you want (assuming it's not out of print), and it will show up at the shop a few days later. Man, you didn't ask, but this place smells like incense, I tell you what. Which is appropriate, I guess, because they sell incense here. I just mention in case you're sensitive to incense.
