I don't usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn't, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn't care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible. I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism. What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department--from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes--works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day. Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine concern. We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. We have been using Legacy at Home caregivers for our mom off and on for over 5 years. We have had…read morewonderful experiences with them. There have been times we've needed caregivers 24/7, and there have been periods of time when we've only needed a caregiver for a few hours here or there to support mom while venturing out to a doctor appointment. Legacy at Home is flexible and allows us to shift between mom's needs with very limited notice. After a recent fall and an ER visit, mom was sent home about 10-11pm. With a few hours advance notice, we were able to have a caregiver meet her at her facility and stay the night with her to provide the support she needed. The schedulers are fantastic and the caregivers are warm and loving. If for some reason a caregiver cancels at the last minute (car accident, illness, dangerous weather, etc), the scheduler on duty will work tirelessly to find a replacement caregiver and they will call back with regular updates on their progress - no matter if they are successful in locating a replacement caregiver or not. And most of the time they are able to find a replacement caregiver. They have amazing people who are caregivers. Many of them have made this their career choice and they want to help and support their patients. It may take a few caregivers before you find the right personality match between your loved one and the caregiver, but once you find the right matches, it's a wonderful thing! The caregivers select their preferred schedules and patients and you start to see the same people over and over again because they form very sweet caring relationships. The caregivers may even text an update here or there, if you also form a relationship with them. I highly recommend Legacy At Home. They have provided significant peace of mind for our family knowing our mom is being well cared for every day.

Called and talked to Alex and he met me the next morning and had the hospital bed and other equipment delivered to our house early afternoon. He took care of all the details and coordination including having a nurse there ahead of my Mom arriving from the hospital. The nurse (Katrina) was absolutely an angel! She had over 4 years of hospice care and was so professional and compassionate and along with medications made sure Mom was comfortable and not in any pain or discomfort. Highly recommend!

Hospice care is covered by Medicare but only covers a few hours per week ... additional care was not covered by Mom's insurance but we needed assistance with Mom. The hospice provider highly recommended Custom Caregivers for the additional care. I got a few quotes from Custom and other caregivers. Custom Caregiver's price was a little higher than other providers we spoke to but we hired Custom. Custom: 1) timely put together a team on short notice 2) showed up and were courteous and attentive 3) did an excellent job in caring for Mom It was money "well spent!"
