I was on a work trip and was looking for a place to eat for dinner. I found this place through Yelp. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. The staff were friendly and very polite. I ordered the turkey chop dinner with cabbage/green combo, Mac and cheese and cornbread muffin. The turkey chop was very delicious and flavorful. The cabbage/greens combo was delicious but the Mac and cheese was lacking a little flavor. The muffin was soft, sweet and flavorful. The meal was reasonably priced. The restaurant ambiance is customer friendly and the meat is made to order. The menu has some great items on the menu. This is a great place to go for a delicious and filling meal.

Baked chicken, cabbage and Mac and cheese

I am so disappointed. This is the second time I've ordered from here through Uber Eats. The first time, I received someone else's order. Tonight, I ordered baked chicken, greens, macaroni and cheese, and yams. Instead, I received cabbage mixed with greens (which I do not eat), and the macaroni and cheese was dry and tasted awful. The baked chicken looked like it had been sitting all day. This has happened too many times, and I won't be ordering again.

I was in the mood for some good soul food and Granny's Kitchen didn't disappoint. I ordered the dinner, which comes with one meat and three sides plus two corn bread muffins. I chose the baked chicken, two sides of mac and cheese, yams, and some peach cobbler for desert. The bake chicken was seasoned to perfection and was so tender it fell off the bone - 4.5/5. The max and cheese was nice and cheesy, creamy, and had the classic flavor I was hoping for - 5/5. The yams were sweet and sticky - 4/5. The peach cobbler was really good. I loved the amount of crust it had in it - 4/5. My only issue was with the corn bread. One piece of the corn bread was over cooked, the second piece was perfectly cooked - 3/5. The customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located in a small stipe mall with minimal parking. I will be returning to try additional menu options.

Picture of the burnt food that I ordered

The Owner needs to get involved Immediately!!! *This is the 2nd time that I had received my food burnt. Both times I spoke to the Manager and he refunded my money but here's the reason why I decided to write because it's an ongoing issue. I ordered when the store was just opening for the day.

    Raw Chicken Leg

I ordered from grannies for dinner from Postmates. My food was delivered on time, but when I opened it, I couldn't believe it. The cornbread was burnt black black. The dressing was hard and tasted like hard edges so I decided to eat the chicken. I broke the chicken and the chicken was not done. It was blood on the inside of it three side orders were supposed to come with my meals. They only sent two so I called to speak with the manager. The girl who asked said the manager wasn't in and all she said was sorry you had to deal with that and that's it didn't offer anything for me to rectify the problem so now I'm stuck with $65 worth of food that nobody can eat so I will be calling tomorrow to speak with the owner the manager or whoever because this is unacceptable.

    The proof of purchase!

I've eaten at this place years ago and would travel to this side of town to buy food, I work in this area but don't live on this side of town, so yesterday I wanted soul food, so this is on my route home so I stopped....food still smelled amazing as I entered the building, I ordered the Veggie lunch plate, mac&cheese, greens, yams, black eye peas & catfish....get my food & I'm excited because I haven't had there food sense 2022, I've gone pass the building over the last year and they were never open so I just assumed they closed the business.....so moving on my $29.56 plate was horrible....let's start with the mac&cheese no flavor or cheese the greens & yams have so much sugar that if I where diabetic I would need to take my meds.....same for the black eye peas no seasoning, but the worst part was what the called catfish nuggets this was disappointing the where burnt dried out and there wasn't even enough batter on them.....I suggest that they taste what there selling.....here's a picture of what they said was catfish nuggets.....wasted my damn money! Oh and the need to clean where they want you to sit & eat!

pig feet was tender and juicy!

The new restaurant is beautiful - clean and very inviting with fun wall art and a bar. Their old location didn't have much seating and I'm glad this new spot has lots of tables. I came with friends on a Friday and it was very lively and packed. The best part of Annie's is of course the food and the value continues to deliver. A meal typically includes a meat and 3 sides and the portions are huge. Our party of 3 was more than full sharing 2 dishes including 6 sides. The short rib was so tender and the wings and cat fish were also very flavorful. In the past I also liked their oxtail a lot and I can't wait to come back and get that next time. You really can't go wrong with any of the sides but we ordered the Candied Yams, Fried Okra, Potato Salad, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread Dressing, and Greens with Smoked Turkey. The Mac and Cheese is probably my favorite but the Fried Okra is a close second and it's hard to find that in LA so I would recommend getting it. Make sure to also save room for peach cobbler or banana pudding - both are tasty!!

Pictures show cultural and imaginary images, very eclectic. They provided complimentary mini corn muffins with an addictive butter. We munched on those until the food came out. We each ordered a variation of their meats and sides. My 3 friends consensus on their meals was good on most of their dishes. 1st meal-Wings, cabbage/greens mix, yams, Mac n cheese 2nd meal- Lemon pepper fish, cabbage/greens mix, yams, Brussel sprouts 3rd meal-Fried chicken, cabbage/greens mix, yams, Mac n cheese I ordered lemon pepper shrimp, greens, brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese. My plate was cool. The lemon pepper shrimp were soft not crunchy and grainy with the bite. My greens lacked flavor, I wish I got the cabbage/greens mix like the others. We all ordered different flavors of the kool-aid. They were all tasty.

Luckily, while out in LA in close proximity to Chinatown, the husband was reminded of Little Jewel. There was no question where we were headed next. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in and handed some menus. We were told to take our time, which was needed since everything sounded so good and the husband kept changing his mind on what to order. We finally settled on the Spicy Creole Jambalaya, Craw Mac Deluxe and The Crabster. It all came out hot, fresh and so satisfyingly delicious! The spice level was perfect. Portions were generous. We had initially planned on having beignets but did not have any more room -- even the dessert pocket was full! The atmosphere is very relaxed. They have several tables in the main dining area and the bar section. Orders are placed and picked up at the front counter. Everyone is super friendly. Parking can get a tricky in Chinatown. Although it's no longer my FAVORITE food and I only indulge sparingly, I still have an affinity for it, and can quickly separate the good from the bad. Willie Mae's can confidently go into the good pile. The perfect texture of the batter is the standout. It's light and crisp. Head to head, I think I prefer the flavors and juiciness of Gus's fried chicken. I'll have to give Willie Mae's another go to confirm that this is indeed the case. But Willie Mae's is situated in a better area, it's got civilized sit down table service, cuter decor, and it has way better sides. During this recent DineLA restaurant week, I met a friend there for lunch. She told me this branch was started by the same folks of the original in New Orleans. Due to a an issue with the freeway closure and horrible traffic, we were very late and she kindly honored our reservation. The food was fantastic. Great crunchy and spice on the chicken (it is on the spicy side so be careful if you cannot handle the heat). The little corn breads were just the right amount. We tried the yams, which is a must, but also shared some of the other sides. The cabbage is cooked kind of like collard greens. The butter beans and rice is very tasty. We also tried the mashed potatoes and gravy. All sides are vegan, which I thought was done for the local L.A. crowd, but we were told the sides are vegan in the original recipes. Next time I'd like to try the gumbo and other dishes on the menu.

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!).
