No hours posted outside!! Just a phone number that goes to voicemail.. waste of a drive!
    Jay S.

So... I drove 1 hour from Santa Clarita to get here. They state on their Facebook that they are open 10am to 6pm.. got here at 130pm. Closed!! Called the phone number, voicemail only! No hours of operation outside nothing. Waste of time, especially if they cannot state when they are open.. Then I decided to look at other posts on Yelp and they all say the same, can't get to work on time, opend at 12 I stead of 11. One person said never opend.

So you order online and they send you an email and a text which is very convenient. As you can see from the pictures the hot food is ready to be served. Kind of like fast food Chinese food takeout I ordered fried catfish nuggets, the mixture of cabbage and greens, dressing aka stuffing & Black Eyed Peas. And my niece ordered a pineapple drink Which she loved. The complimentary cornbread could've used a lot more seasoning. But my food was yummy. The catfish was soft and I could taste the mealiness grit of the cornmeal. The Black Eyed Peas were flavorful as were the greens. The dressing aka stuffing was forgettable but I'm a Stovetop fan tbh. I am going to return to try their liver, but I think that's made only once a week. The price was average. I actually called over the phone maybe three times to ask questions and the staff was extremely professional and polite. Sidenote each call the phone was ringing a lot which tells me they were busy. will recommend for sure !

Unfortunately, the short ribs were disappointing. They were way fattier than I remember them being back in the day, to the point where I spent more time trimming meat than actually eating it. The quality just doesn't seem to be what it used to be. The greens were... okay. If it wasn't for the garlic Crystal hot sauce doing some heavy lifting, they would've been pretty hard to get through. They lacked the flavor and soul I've come to expect from a place with such a long-standing reputation. Now for the good news: the mac and cheese is still that girl. No matter what's changed, their mac and cheese remains firmly planted in my top 5 comfort food dishes. Creamy, cheesy, and exactly what I remember. Maybe this was an off day, maybe my expectations were too tied to memories, but this visit left me wishing for the R&R I grew up loving.

Like many restaurants, they have had their ups and downs, but they are hanging on. We have bought the Family Special which is no longer a Sunday option, but on other days. For just under $50, we had a whole Baked Chicken, 3 sides and corn muffins. The Chicken is always well seasoned and cooked well. Our favorite sides are the Collard Greens, Yams and Black Eyed Peas. We had some friends and family over, so we purchased 2 Family Specials and some extra Corn Muffins. That was plenty for 7 adults and 2 children with a little leftovers. Although, we have had some negative experiences here previously, we still dine there by take-out mostly. The owner does listen to and reads reviews. That doesn't happen every.

Came here on a Friday for dinner around 6:15pm and were seated inside at a table right away. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The ambiance was nice, as well. That said, the food did not really live up to the hype. Particularly, the fried chicken was very dry. The baked chicken was quite a bit better, but the cornbread muffins were probably my favorite food item. If in the area, I'd still say this spot is worth checking out if you're curious. Just don't come in with super high expectations. Maybe we caught them on an off night.

The level of authenticity can be felt the moment you walk in. Every patron of the restaurant can be seen expressively enjoying their food. When you order a main protein, it comes with your choice of three sides & ofc their famous cornbread muffins. All the food is insanely filling so prepare to take home leftovers. * Beef Links 10/10: A massive, spicy beef sausage on top of a soft & fresh slice of white bread. It can't get any better. It stayed hot throughout my meal & was appreciated so much. That is f***g good. * Cornbread muffins 10/10: DELICIOUSLY served as an appetizer before your meal comes out. Comes fresh & hot with a side of sweet/cinnamon butter. It's perfect. * 8 Pc Wings 10/10: Seriously the best wings I've ever had in my life. Soul food restaurants know exactly how to coat the wings so that they become insanely crispy when fried. That aside, the Hot Honey seasoning was especially flavorful & mouthwatering. *Mac n Cheese 9/10: This is my style Mac. Not too ooey-gooey wet but just a perfect amount of cheese & roux. One point off because it has a smokey taste which just isn't my preference. * Candied Yams 11/10: MY GAWWWD. I'm in heaven. If you like very sweet potato's paired with a perfect buttery cinnamon dressing, then step right up. These are insane. I'm obsessed with that type of thing. *Greens w Turkey 3/10: Was not the biggest fan of this side. The flavor of the turkey overpowered the whole dish. The greens clearly basked with the turkey rather than just being placed together. I couldn't taste the greens, just meat flavoring. * Cabbage 7/10: I love cabbage. This side isn't anything crazy, it's a very simple thing for you to pair with whatever you ordered. Every meal needs one side that rlly holds it down. *Fried Okra 12/10: Seriously, you cannot get soul food without trying fried okra. This is just amazing. Perfectly crispy & delicious.

Almost hate to write this, but fair is fair. For background, I'm from Southside Chicago, parents…read morefrom Mississippi, and literally grew up on delicious soul food. Everything always from scratch. Everything. We had a table of 6, celebrating niece going back to Spelman College for her junior year. We ordered a ton of food. Each meal comes with three sides. Portions are generous. I had the salmon croquettes, black eyed peas, red beans, and rice & gravy (to go w my croqs) The red beans and the black eyed peas, were delicious. Cooked perfectly, seasoned really well, and the right amount of liquid base. I also had a bit of my mom's greens--and they were GOOD!!! BUT! Not so fast (in my Columbo voice). The salmon croquettes, were not croquetting. There was no flavor. None. Except for the natural salmon taste. The patties were too thick, there was no discernible seasoning, and no onion or green peppers at all. It was like eating a salmon burger, as opposed to a croquette. AND I LOOOOOVE CROQUETTES. Mom's pork chop was okay at best. It didn't taste like anything, was a lil over cooked and a tad tough. But lacked seasoning. Nephew's catfish was tasty. Aunt said her short ribs were good. Niece had wings and shrimp combo, and said they were okay, not great. Peach cobbler was good. Yams too soupy. Dressing was so drowned in gravy, we forgot it was dressing. So, mixed day at Annies. We had issues with the proteins. The veggies and legumes were deliciously spot on. I commented that if I ever end up back, I'll just get red beans, black eyeds, and some greens. Soul food has to be seasoned well. Has to. Croquettes have to have onions, green peppers, or is just a salmon patty. I took a pic of my leftovers. The meal started w 3 croqs. I ate one there. Broke this one open to show y'all the MEH-ness. Oh! GREAT STAFF! Everyone was awesome. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars, overall. Halfway there.

I originally popped in just to pick up a house salad to go to pair with my leftover pastas at Home, but I ended up dining in thanks to the terrific Gourmet Hospitality displayed by Server Carlos and the new Manager Evan! While waiting for my To Go Salad I was so mesmerized by all the fun and flirty Visual Communications like their Dessert Menu and Happy Hour Specials like the $4.50 Beers and $9 Half Cajun Pasta Specials :0) I initially decided to just stay at Georgia's and try their Sweet Potato Pie along with a Hot Tea instead of moseying over to Starbucks like my original afternoon Game Plan. Carlos took the time to make my Sweet Potato Pie look extra elegant and fancy and the Black Lemon Tea he served me had such a unique and refreshing elegant flavor! I felt like a British Barbie having the most heavenly Afternoon Tea Time Recovery massage after enjoying that incredible Artful Genius Pairing ;0) After the Manager Evan stopped by to follow up on the satisfaction of my food he encouraged me to capitalize on the Afternoon Happy Hour Specials on the Weekdays too from 3-6pm. I saw that my favorite Cajun Pasta was on the Happy Hour Menu and decided to order it with Shrimp along with a glass of Kona Big Wave to celebrate the theme of my Moana Movie Day :0) My Cajun Pasta tasted just as amazing as I remembered it to be and I ended up returning last night to order the full size on the weekend to enjoy outside on their beautiful Patio! I also tried their Fried Green Tomatoes Appetizer which was so good and a personal recommendation from my Coworker Bartender who raves endlessly about it. The Lemon Aioli sauce included with the Fried Green Tomatoes is so good and I LOVE their Seasonal Green Apple Sangria which is an absolute must try too!! The new Happy Hour, Cocktail, and Mocktails specials are so romantically charming and gives me lots of reasons to come back and along with the vibrantly fun and interesting personalities that make up the Service Staff!
