PHENOMENAL! So good it makes you wanna slap yo mamma! Hats off to the great service that Morgan provided us with. We started out with some cornbread muffins (jalapeño cheddar, banana chocolate chip, and blueberry). Delicious! Then the fried pickles were light and flaky with some cool ranch + tangy Cajun sauce. And finally my catfish po'boy was TO DIE FOR!! S/o to those hand-cut fries. My girlfriend got the shrimp nawlins and her dad got an omelet with potatoes. You best believe we'll be back here real soon!

I ordered the catfish dinner, which comes with two sides. The fish was served in smaller pieces rather than larger fillets, and while the portion was generous, the pieces themselves weren't very meaty. The coating lacked that fresh, crisp texture and came across a bit soft instead. The seasoning leaned fairly spicy, which may be expected for Cajun-style, but it wasn't what I was anticipating. The fries also missed the mark, coming out more greasy and limp than crisp. Overall, the portion size was solid, but the texture and execution made the meal underwhelming.

This is my first time at Stevie's on pico and I had an amazing experience my server, Lauren, was so kind and attentive. I was stuck on ordering a seafood dinner or the gumbo and she highly recommended the gumbo as well as the blueberry lemonade which was 10 out of 10. All in all, I will absolutely be returning back to Stevie's and I have a long list of more items to try starting with the oxtails lol. Make sure you ask for Ms.Lauren she's PHENOMENAL! Update 3:49PM, again Lauren does not disappoint!!! My uncle and I were getting ready to ask for the bill and she surprised us with some banana pudding and some peach cobbler that is too die for make sure you guys come and stop by Stevie's on pico honey.

This is a creole cafe with all the spices. This was highly recommended to visit. We came as soon as they opened because I was told this is a busy cafe. I ordered the Shrimp Po'boy with coleslaw and sweet tea. I enjoyed every bite of my shrimp Po'boy. The sauce you add to the Po'boy is spicy and delicious! My mom had the Shrimp lunch special with greens and a warm cornbread. She enjoyed her food as well. We both left with stuff tummies. Our server Lauren was awesome! She was attentive to our needs. After we received our food (which was fast) the cafe got crowded. If you are coming to dine here, come as soon as they open or prepare to wait. Parking is street meter parking. I recommend visiting this creole cafe.

We thought we were going to Stevie's supper club, but it turns out that it closed some years ago. So this creole cafe is a more casual dining spot. The food is AMAZING! Our faves were definitely the king crabs and the fried oysters. We also ordered oxtails and gumbo to go. The oxtails were delicious and the gumbo had a delicious flavor but needed some file. They also slice the sausage so thin you can barely taste it. But they do give you a very generous portion. Will definitely stop by again. Gotta bring my mom back.

Okay I had to go after seeing 2 foodies guys I respect speak highly of this restaurant ! It's a small little cafe like spot with about 7 inside tables and 4-6 outside. And I have to say I don't like anyone messing around with my oxtails, BUT this fried oxtails were like magical. They are crispy yet they almost fall off the bone. It's like an anomaly, as it doesn't seem like it should be both at the same time for that kind of meat. The spicing of the oxtail would've made my grandmother, proud. Those yams reminded me of a dessert without being all sugary. I tasted the cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, brown sugar and I think allspice. The collards were good not the greatest, but good that mac & cheese was so hot coming out of the oven that every bite still had steam coming off of it, the entire bowl was cheesy. It had a nice flavor to my palate. I really liked the cabbage I like cabbage so never mess up my cabbage. The fried fish had a good flavor was super crispy, but super soft on the inside no part of the actual fish felt or taste tasted like it was overly cooked. I just wish it would've had one more piece so I could be greedy. Unfortunately they ran out of peach cobbler! One of the tables order like 8 of them, but our waitress was nice enough to scrap some of it up in a taster cup (thank sauces) and man I was even madder at that customer after we tasted that man I think that cobbler is going to be unbelievable and I will be coming back for that!! I did get a banana pudding and it was GOOD! The portion was small and that was the only downfall I literally ran my finger through the container to get every ounce of that goodness. I plan to go back for the gumbo dish and cobbler on another trip to LA. So for me and this here meal I have no issue saying 5 stars and do it again Sam!!

The food is incredible. the staff is so friendly and kind. although a plate is anywhere from $20-40 it is worth every penny for the quality and portion size. I definitely recommend coming with other people so you can share and try more food! Order anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed.

Hand down the BEST soul food I have ever had in a restaurant, in the 45 years I have lived in LA county. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. I don't want to comment on the pricing because I feel like the pricing compliments the quality, but it is worth every penny. Also don't be a cheapskate, 18% gratuity is average! Tip more if you can!

My wife and I have been trying to make it to Stevie's Creole Café for a while, and we finally did. We were excited to check it out. Excellent customer service.. Unfortunately, the sides just didn't hit for us. None of them really stood out, and they lacked the flavor we were expecting. The mac and cheese was decent and probably the best of the sides we tried, but overall the dishes felt under-seasoned. We left a bit underwhelmed. We really wanted to love it, but it just didn't deliver the bold, soulful flavor you hope for when you think of Creole cuisine. Now here's the thing about Creole food, it's supposed to sing. It should have depth, spice, layers, that slow-cooked intention. When it's muted, you feel it immediately. Food like that isn't just about ingredients, it's about rhythm and seasoning confidence. Sometimes spots have an off day. Sometimes expectations are just set high. Either way, the search for that perfect Creole plate continues.

After years of wanting to try this place, we were left disappointed. Firstly, it's small inside. We were sat instantly but took over 20 minutes for someone to take our order and that was after we had to stop a staff member. We ordered the gumbo, Cajun pasta, garlic cheese bread, and banana muffin. It took over 30 minutes for the food to be delivered and it was arrived one item at a time. The muffin was missing it and we had to ask twice for it! It came at the end of our dinner and we still had to pay for it. We were not comped for any of the inconveniences. The gumbo did not taste like gumbo, more like a soup. Very watery and too much rice. The Cajun pasta was great. The garlic cheese bread was literally, bread, cheddar cheese, and a shit load of raw garlic on top. I was dead. They charge 18% gratuity for horrible service. Parking is street parking. I would come back to try other items but now I know what to expect.

Each combo came with a corn, potato, rice, and broccoli. We chose the Cajun garlic butter flavor and honestly, the seasoning was spot on. It was garlicky, buttery, and packed with flavor. Definitely the highlight of the meal. That said, one thing that was a bit of a dealbreaker for me was there's no restroom or at least even a sink available to wash your hands. With a seafood boil, you're guaranteed to get messy while peeling shrimp and while they do provide gloves, they rip really easily. I had to keep switching gloves which kind of took away from the experience. Customer service was just okay, nothing bad but nothing super memorable either. Parking is also limited since it's a small strip mall so just something to keep in mind if you're coming during busy hours. Overall, the flavor and food were solid but the lack of a sink made it a little inconvenient.

If you have a minute, I'd like to share a story:…read more I've been meaning to try this place for years, ever since I read their opening in the LA Times. In the article, they mentioned that they had a sandwhich in homage to Pok Pok, a legendary Thai place in Portland that was famous for their fish sauce chicken wings. Unfortunately, this sandwhich was only offered on the weekday lunch menu, which stymied my efforts to try it. In my mind, what I was expecting was a piece of fried chicken coated in the same sauce that Pok Pok was known for, turned into sandwhich form. The "Bring back pok pok" is not that. Which was a disappointment for all of 10 seconds. While the sandwhich was not what I was expecting, it was still excellent on its own merits. It's a fried chicken sandwhich but instead of lettuce and tomatoes, they've used some sort of dried pepper spread, thai basil (I think) and jalopenos). It reminded me more of a bahn mi. It's a flavor profile that works well. I tried a piece of my friends fried catfish, and it was similarly good. The catish was flaky without being dry, and not only was the breading well seasoned, but it was still crispy at the end of the meal. The only thing a little underwhelming was the cornbread. It wasn't bad, but it didn't feel like it did anything noteworthy, and ours could have used a bit more butter (or maybe some more salt). Our server was great, though it was easy for him since we were the only customers for a long while! Still he was easy to talk to and I appreciated how he kept stopping by to fill up our water (they use tiny glasses). The inside has nice "upscale casual" vibes. If I worked in downtown, I could see myself coming here after work. Overall, a pleasant surprise.

The food may be good, but the attitude and lack of customer service completely ruined our experience. It honestly felt like the employees simply wanted to leave early rather than serve their customers. This gives the restaurant a very bad image. The owner/management should be aware of how customers are being treated, because this kind of service will only make people leave and choose another restaurant. Very disappointing and extremely poor customer service.
