I was turned away by several jewelers in the area because the ring I needed resized contains a lab grown diamond and apparently most places won't touch them unless you bought it there. I called ahead to ask Grant Laughter and he said "if you love it, we love it. We can absolutely do that for you." I was greeted and assisted by the owner himself who thoroughly went over my options and helped me choose a plan for resizing. I paid under $100 and had my ring back within three weeks. Kat, the buyer, took her time inspecting each item, and, as she did, she explained their value and stated the amount she was prepared to give me for that piece. Brought in my favorite Eco Drive watch that had recently stopped working. They said it probably needed a new capacitor (rechargeable battery). I paid upfront for the capacitor and cleaning. They later called and said they installed the battery and the watch still doesn't work. They didn't know why. They offered to dispose of it for me. Gee thanks. This was my first time ever going to Grant Laughter. Won't go back for deceitful practices. I took a ring to be downsized there and quoted me $95 dollars for the downsizing. Then the lady said, that if I wasn't in a rush that she can give me a discount. Discount came back to almost $30 off. My husband wanted the gold that was going to be taken out from the downsizing returned. I called the next day and asked if we would get the gold back and one of the guys called me back say that with giving the gold back the price would be $125. I was livid! The deceitful practice of not communicating upfront with what would happen to the gold and disguising the kept gold as a discount is not a good business practice. I asked for my ring back and a refund of the money I paid to start the process of the sizing. They did refund my money which I am grateful for but offered nothing for the broken trust of a first time customer. Be aware when they offer discounts or sized rings or anything that removes any gold from your jewelry. read more

We went in to replace watch batteries and remove links from a watch. Staff is very friendly and helpful. One watch had corrosion so they were not sure it would continue to work with a new battery and did not charge me. We went back a few days later to tell them it was still working and to pay for the battery and they said no charge - where can you find that kind of service in today's world! While there my husband saw the comfort fit wedding bands (his is over 40 years old and way to large and sharp edges) they were very helpful showing the differences in bands and ordered him one and it arrived less than a week later.
