I recently visited your restaurant and was disappointed by the interaction I had with a staff member whom I later learned is the general manager. From the moment we arrived, the communication felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Questions were answered curtly, and the overall tone made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. While I understand that restaurants can be busy and stressful environments, basic professionalism and courtesy are important parts of the dining experience. What surprised me most was learning afterward that this individual is the general manager. Leadership sets the standard for customer service, and the interaction I experienced did not reflect the level of hospitality I would expect from someone in that position. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and after a brief wait we (2) were seated on the patio. The wait was due to the server on the patio being behind and giving him a chance to catch up. Anywho! Once seated we were actually served by the hostess that sat us, never got her name but she was sweet. I ordered a hot ginger tea but I had to ask for milk & sugar. I ordered the mushroom and leek scramble which came with breakfast potatoes but asked for a side of bacon as well. We asked for chewy, not crispy as in burnt but it was dang near raw, I ate the pieces that were in fact cooked but it just wasn't great bacon. The scramble was delicious and seasoned well! As were the potatoes but a few pieces were undercooked. Towards the end of our meal, I notice the cobwebs less that foot from my head and then noticed they were all over. Best scrambled eggs... Yup. That's how this is gonna start this one. Outside of the very open and inviting atmosphere and the friendly and hospitable service. Or the delicious chicken sausage, bacon, potatoes and homemade biscuits... the scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had in all my years of eating breakfast at a restaurant. My daughter found Grant Park Bistro during a late-night search for dinner. The place was at half capacity with the bar area having most of the patrons. We asked to be seated further back where it was quieter. We ordered the Steak Salad and Pesto Fettuccini. Probably the best steak salad I've had -- perfectly cooked and dressed. I really liked the crispy potato cubes, onion strings and green beans. My daughter loved her Pesto Fettuccini with the grilled bread. Portions were perfect. Price point was reasonable. Service however was really slow. Maybe it was the late hour, but no one checked on us after our food came out and our drinks were never refilled. They were however very quick in bringing the check. When we left, the hostess was busy chatting with some guy and didn't notice us trying to use the locked revolving door to exit. We eventually figured out to use the small side door. Minus a star for all that. We may be back for the food. Hopefully the service will be better. read more

This was a pleasantly surprising find. We were tired and exhausted and didn't feel like walking anywhere. So we wound here, which was exactly next door to our hotel (Hilton Chicago). As a resident of the DMV, I can get a lil snobbish when it comes to seafood; nobody does it like us back home. Or so I thought. This Lake Benedict from Grant Park Bistro is arguably one of the best salmon Benedict's I've had in my entire life. The salmon was perfectly smoked, the poached egg was a tad firmer than what I'm used to (in such a positive way that I now want all my poached eggs to take this level of firmness), and the hollandaise sauce was perfect. I almost always switch out home fries for french fries, and these fries were so good that I didn't need a sauce. So whenever I find myself back in Chicago, I'll certainly be back at Grant Street. read more

Excellent Benedict at this hotel restaurant along Michigan Avenue. It's a small spot, off the lobby of the hotel. Large windows face the street, ideal for people watching. This is a unique prep in that it's served atop a house-baked biscuit instead of an English muffin. The perfect poached egg is served beneath a thick slice of smoked salmon and then covered with light béarnaise sauce. I'm a big benedict fan, and this one is really good. Shout out to the iced tea. I was in the area on a Sunday late morning, in the mood for some bottomless mimosas and opted for grant park bistro. They were semi busy, so we grabbed a spot at the bar. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was friendly and attentive. I got the bottomless mimosas, and he started me off by making a carafe for me (just me, as my boyfriend doesn't drink nearly as much as I do and did not participate). I really appreciate this because a lot of places will call it "bottomless mimosas" and you'll see the bottom of your glass quite frequently. I never did. And this makes it a good brunch spot on its own IMO. I made it my mission to finish this carafe and tbh I probably shouldn't have. And the mimosas were not overly powered with orange juice. For food, I got the avocado and goat cheese. It was fantastic. As someone who usually wants hot sauce with their breakfast, I did not need it for this one. The goat cheese was fresh, the avocado was ripe, and everything was great. My date got the steak and eggs and he was equally satisfied with his choice. I'd love to come back here! read more

It was a beautiful day in Chicago and Grant Park Bistro was right down the street from my hotel, so we thought what better way to enjoy it than a delicious meal on a patio! I was a little torn because the inside of the restaurant looked rather beautiful, but the dedicated patio space with umbrellas and great views won out. You know it's a good sign when everyone is having a difficult time choosing what they want to eat off the menu. Thankfully, I was with people that didn't mind sharing so I got to try some of this salmon toast because it was delicious and not overly heavy. However, I indulged on this burger and was glad I did. There were two reasons I selected this bistro: First, there is a $22 bottomless Mimosa brunch with purchase of entree. Second, located across from Grant Park and the landmark Buckingham Fountain. The menu offered shareable options like Buffalo Chicken sandwich, portobello burger omelets and other egg items. We skipped the mimosa brunch and shared the Crispy Chicken sandwich and herb seasoned fries. The sandwich was delicious: crisp chicken and the fries were crisp and seasoned nicely. I ordered a mock-tail that consisted of pineapple, basil syrup and was refreshing. I wanted the Ginger Mint Spritz but they were out of ginger. The bistro has a relaxed vibe; perfect place to brunch in a Sunday which the local Chicago residents were and watching the football game. The restroom oath allows you to sneak a peek at the open kitchen. But the real eye catcher was the ' Earth Goddess' mural behind the bar which is a woman's face surrounded by ivy. I highly recommend this Bistro not just for Happy Hour but the regular menu offers my fave, tomato soup and other delicious dishes.
