I have installed split air conditioning units in my home installed by Grant's AC. We have units in our backroom that for whatever reason seem to have an error message on a yearly basis. I first notified Grants on June 11th. As of June 19th I have no ETA on service. I have sent several E-mails and text messages without out any response on a service date. Have to say, these people have come out twice now and our heater is still not working. Evidently there is a "switch" that was replaced on our unit (used?) so the second technician came out the next day and replaced it. This morning we wake to find no heat...again. It is Sunday, January 11, 2026, 34 degrees and no heat...again. Money paid, but not yet earned. Can't wait till Monday. Maybe I will be "cooled off" myself by then, but not as cool as our home. read more

Communication was great until I asked questions about a part that they said was replaced. The condencer had a five year warranty and had been replaced two years back. I looked up the model number of the replaced part from their recipt and it was $17.99 on Amozon with free shipping. I had already paid the bill online in full and no one would return my emails or phone calls. The service call was like $130 and the rest was installation and what they charged for part. He was here 13 minited and total bill was $350!. I called manufactor of condencer and they said it should of been under warranty! Overall shady practice that I wont be using anymore for my home, rentals, and businesses. read more

I had called a couple months ago in june 2024, told them i wasn't getting any cool air in the vents in my room, they did a test and then went upstairs and opened my vents and left them open and never came back. i still get a bill text but i don't understand how i should pay a bill if 1 they didn't fix the AC in my room and 2 they left a vent wide open with dust falling out and never came back to close it back in and do whatever they were going to do. read more

Service technician tried to charge extra for a special filter. We have been using regular filters for many years installed by previous technicians. We have our heater serviced every winter. We were quoted a price ahead of time for the service call. When he was finished with the job he tried to charge an extra 40 dollars and then said it would only be an extra 30 dollars like he was doing us a favor. Of course we refused to pay more than the price we were quoted. He was not too happy. We never asked him to install a "special" filter. He tried to take advantage but it did not work. My family and I have used Grants for quite a few years, my service appointments have always been prompt and techs are knowledgable. Recently had to replace an A/C unit, and I felt like we got a fair price, especially considering the extra work that was required. They were able to work around my schedule and showed up on time. They came out two other times to help me with my Smart thermostat which turned out to be not so smart. Anyway, I would recommend them to anyone who asked. read more

Incredibly disappointed. Grant's serviced my unit last year at my office (which was a new unit, less than 2 years old). When they came out it wasn't blowing cool air. They told me it was very dirty and they had to add refrigerant (not really sure the proper term of what it is called). They didn't report at the time of service that there was any leaks. Being someone with very little knowledge, but knowing it's a new unit, refrigerant had to be added, it didn't add up for me. I called in to question this, and again was told there wasn't any leaks reported. Hearing how many pounds of refrigerant was added without any leak struck me as odd and I questioned this but got no helpful information that made any sense. Fast forward to this year. The same issue occurred, I called for service from another company that installed my unit this year on my house - thinking it is probably just dirty. Nope. There was a leak in the coil. I told them I had the same issue last year (blowing warmer air) and that they added refrigerant and said it was very dirty. I was told by the new company I used that you should never have to add refrigerant and if so, it was definitely a sign that should cause further investigation for a leak. I won't go on to say what their assumption was about Grant's servicing because I can't confirm this. But I can say that Grant's did not send a technician who was qualified enough to ascertain that adding multiple pounds of refrigerant is a sign that something else is going on, nor did they investigate when I voiced my concern. Fortunately my unit is still under warranty and the new company I'm using is working on getting it repaired under warranty. At this point I won't recommend Grant's nor will I use them again for my home or office. In this case, you don't get what you pay for. read more

A few years ago, they in installed a champion water cooler roof top. they installed a custom steel base that was the wrong size. They made it work anyway. Put an inline valve I had to buy and install a real valve on the 1/2-inch pipe. When they had assembled the unit they put a panel in upside down that leaked water on the roof. There's nothing holding the cooler pad in place I actually have to wedge a piece of wood in it of it leaks out the front. The things a mess! read more

I heard the AC draining in the laundry room instead of from the outside pipe so I thought the primary (outside) drain might be clogged. I called to get my AC serviced and I said the primary drain might be clogged. When he showed up I explained I heard the AC draining in the backup drain in the laundry room instead of outside so I thought it might be clogged. He said it was $90 for the service and an extra $90 to unclog it. I agreed (what else was I going to do). When he was done he told me the drain in the laundry room was the primary drain and the one outside was the backup. I asked him, "Well that's where it was draining so does that mean it wasn't clogged?" He responded by saying, "I don't know but I blew the hell out of it." So I basically paid and extra $90 to unclog something that wasn't clogged and I'm a bit upset about it. He said there was a part in my AC that was working at about 40% and needed to be replaced. It would cost another $120. Had he not charged me $90 for something that it turns out didn't need to be done, I would have had him change it. But he did, so I'll take the rest of my business elsewhere. read more

I told them that the problem was probably the ignition controller and gave them the part number. Their technician came out, verified that it was the ignition controller, charged me $90.00 for that then told me he had a different controller that would work. He was here about 30 minutes and charged me $450.00!! I looked up the part and it cost 80.00 on Amazon. Plus 90.00 for the "diagnosis" $170.00. That leaves $280.00 for 15 minutes work to install the part! That's $1120.00 an hour!!! He called the office and they would not reduce the price! read more

I used to use Grant's for servicing our business's HVAC back in the 80s & 90s. Always received excellent service. Things have changed with the change in ownership. I called Grant's to come diagnose an A/C problem. I was told the 12 year old unit needed replacing. I received a replacement estimate and told Grant's I needed to think on it. I then called another firm to get a second opinion; and I'm glad I did. All I needed was to replace a capacitor. So. instead of paying $7000.00 I only paid $150.00 I don't know if the technician from Grant's was incompetent or dishonest, but it does make one think. read more

Called for ac problem because they where across the street they replaced bad capacitor they where across the street at neighbors for three days then on the forth day I seen a different AC company there and they must have fixed the problem because they where only there fore one day. then my AC went down again my wife called them if I knew I wouldn't have because of what happened to the neighbors new service tech came out and said the motor was bad and wrong capacitor was put on he changed the capacitor they charged me 150.00 for it was to small and burnt up the motor so they replaced a 89.00 motor and 30.00 capacitor the put on that was wrong spent less than one hour and charged me 462.00 for there screw up by putting wrong capacitor on stay away from these thieves. read more

Had my central heating & cooling rooftop unit replaced on July 23, 2018, the new unit replaced a 20 year old unit which I think I got my money out of. The install crew Scott and Larry arrived on time and ready, the entire job was done in under 4 hours. I had Grant s service the old unit and make minor repairs over the life span of the old unit, I think it's the only reason it lasted 20 years. Technician tried to "fix my problem" under the table and without the company having any knowledge of it. He tried to charge me the same amount that I ended up paying going through the company. I called to set up an appointment as one of our heating units was not working. They actually told me to try changing the batteries in our thermostat before they come out. To me that shows honesty, as they could have just come out and charged me the service fee without trying to help me save the money first. As that was not the problem, they came out on a Saturday without charging me extra for a weekend visit. The technician fixed the problem and had it working again that day. Here's my honest review of Grant's Air Conditioning service in Visalia. My central air conditioner was running but did not produce cold air. A technician came over, diagnosed the problem in 2 minutes, replaced the capacitor, and the problem was fixed. The whole visit took about 20 minutes. He charged me $85 for the diagnosis and $222 for the capacitor. The capacitor costs less than $30 if you buy it online. I have attached a photo of the receipt to prove that I am telling the truth. Moral of the story: If they try to sell you a part, look up the price of the item online before you say yes. I take Yelp reviews very seriously and would never lie about a company. read more

On July 17, 2015 I needed help deciphering how the programmable thermostat worked for my dad's home HVAC unit in Visalia. I had taken pix of the thermostat so I stopped by Grants and was (immediately) cheerfully and professionally assisted by a true specialist there, Pepe Medina. Pepe quickly produced an identical unit and took 15 minutes to clearly explain how the device worked. He then offered to drop by the home to further clarify if needed (at no charge!). My 90 year old Mother called them because her AC stopped working. Response time was good, and the tech found the problem in about five minutes. A tripped breaker at the outside breaker panel. Reset was all that was needed. Except, the plastic part of the breaker broke off when he reset it. The tech just left it, telling my Mother it needed replacement. Then, handed her a bill for $175.00 for his total work of 15 mins. No parts, no climbing, no real effort, except for the breaker reset. She told him she thought it was somewhat high, and she was told " that's what we charge ". Have used them a few times in the past, and thought the pricing was fair, but no more. Always very responsive if a problem rises; immediate, as in texted at 8pm to call next morning, receive a phone call from tech within 2minutes. Technician here 8am next day; no charge (I used my once in a lifetime gift, I guess). Never a problem. On their maintenance recall program; best money I spend every year. Team members (techs, office) always courteous and professional, remember family members names and acknowledge each person they come across in home. They are the best!
