I know it's the guys behind the grill that apparently don't see the notes or can't read or only look in a very specific small spot on the ticket for your order and any other notes just does not exist. One day they're going to kill somebody. Is ignorance bliss? It's not gonna be me because I'm not coming back you lost two customers today. PS the meat was overcooked. The vegetables were burnt, and the red sauce was so thinned out. It was like eating Campbell soup vegetable broth. But did have a good flavor. I could've complained while I was there, but I just really wanted to leave .

Recently the small dining room was made over a bit and now is a charming casual sit-down spot for lunch and Dinner... but I think most of the business is takeout. You cannot go wrong with the Greek salad with the amazing creamy tangy herby Greek dressing with any protein on there. The kebabs, grill items like chicken/salmon/lamb are infused with fresh grilled flavor. The veggie dishes and spreads are delicious, the Tzatziki & Hummus are fresh and both light yet rich. The avogolemono soup is very nice (perfect for hangover or if you have a cold) and I love the stuffed grape leaves & spanikopita. All the standard hot sides are great- try the sweet butternut squash purée, tomato-y green beans, and corn or rice pilaf. I always top off the order with a Mythos (bottled Greek beer), tastes great and I like the fun red pull tab. Parking is very tight so be prepared to park on street. Check it out!

Well seasoned, the cabbage was tender without falling apart and that lemony avgolemono sauce tied everything together- it was bright and savory. For mains, we shared the Moschari me Damaskina (red wine-braised beef cheeks with prunes, trahanas) and Arni stin Souvla (slow-roasted lamb leg). The beef cheek was ridiculously tender- like barely touch it and it falls apart. Rich, slightly sweet from the prunes, with that warm spice note of the cinnamon that balanced the tomato acidity really nicely. The lamb was cooked well and definitely tasty but nothing super extravagant compared to other Greek lamb dishes I've had. Still really yummy especially with the onions and a squeeze of lemon cutting through the lamb. Its shaved dark meat chicken had a gorgeous crisp on it, with the product of Maillard reactions all over the place. The mustard was sweet, not sharp; the raw red onions cut through for balance. So satisfying. As a foodie (I still hate that word), I want to point out that as other reviews note, the portions are huge. The pita diameter was as big as my fist's. It was awkward to eat and pieces of chicken kept falling back onto my plate. On a Fourth of July when most other local restaurants were closed, Gyro City was at most half full. It deserves more customers. guess people were barbecuing for the holiday.

Both were well seasoned, perfectly grilled and the meat was juicy on the inside. They let you substitute the side that comes with the meal with grilled vegetables, which I like, at no extra cost. If you like a good kebab, this is the place to go. They have other items on the menu that look delicious too. You should give this place a try.

Service has consistently been uneven, unprofessional and hit-and-miss, even when there are only a handful of customers. IMHO, they are stuck in a catch-22. Their sales is low, so they don't invest in adequate, professional servers with real dining room experience. Poor service, in turn, drives customers away. Customers who visit for the first time may not come back because of poor service, which drives sales down, which prevents the restaurant from spending more to invest in professional servers! ______________________________________________
