    Chicken Kabob Salad
    Rebecca C.

I really enjoyed the food here. The chicken gyro was very oily but I would go back to get something similar but maybe in a salad. My boyfriend got a chicken salad and he said it was really good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice. It was a bit loud when we went.

I am so happy I found this place! I ordered a chicken gyro and it was a huge portion of tasty chicken and fries in a pita with a light honey mustard sauce. It was out of this world! There is actually a lot of seating and the place is very comfortable. They put my food on a beautiful plate as you can see in the photo. The employees were friendly and helpful. I can't wait to return and try something else, they have a large menu of Greek dishes.

I went back to Gyro City after not going for a few years and their quality has gotten so much better. They've also expanded their menu and has tonss of options! This is counter service so you order at the front and you can see them make your plate in front of you. Lots of seating area but it seems like a take-out heavy spot. I got the lamb kebab plate which came with rice pilaf, lamb obviously, greek salad, and tzatziki sauce. The portions are HUGE. This plate was two satisfying meals for me. The lamb was also so flavorful and juicy and there were not skimpy with the meat. Loved the salad too, especially because I am a huge feta cheese girl. I will say, the dishes here are more expensive than other fast Greek restaurants I've been to. But the portions make it worth because you're essentially paying for two meals.

Good place for a quick bite to eat or order to-go! Chicken Gyro Sandwich - 4/5 Not much parking, street parking only Was good, but nothing spectacular Came here on a Sunday night for a quick bite. The interior of the restaurant is pretty spacious and has a good amount of seating if you want to dine-in. You order can order at the counter and find a place to sit or take to-go. I ordered the chicken gyro sandwich to-go. Didn't have to wait long, maybe 5 min at most for my order. The chicken gyro sandwich itself is not bad! Quite filling and heavy since they add fries in gyro as well. Instead of the traditional tzatziki sauce, they use a mustard sauce. Though I prefer the traditional sauce, the mustard isn't bad! Service was quick! Would definitely come again to try other things on the menu. They have quite a good selection of items to try and a small refrigerated area for drinks and an assortment of sauces and dips you can purchase.

    Falafel Pita

My boyfriend put me on to this place because he's been obsessed for YEARS! I finally got to try it out and ordered the Falafel pita since I'm vegetarian. This was my first time trying a gyro and 10/10 recommend this authentic stop. The portion was HUGE, but I couldn't stop eating because it was sooo good. We ordered a side of French fries too, but thought that it could have used some salt (personal preference). Service was quick and place was nice and clean. Would go back again!

I've only ordered takeout from here, but it is consistently good. I usually get the chicken gyro plate with salad and rice. The portion sizes are huge. Its around $25 but I usually get 2 meals out of it. The keftedes (meatballs) with tzatziki sauce are also bomb. One of my favorite places in the area

Apps: - Kolokithokeftedes: A bit heavy on the feta and dill for me. Additionally, the middle was a bit mushy, a result of it being a bit thick. The outside was crisp and had good taste. - Hummus & Pita: Great hummus and good pita Entree: Lambchops were great! cooked and seasoned to perfection, and reasonably priced for 4 pieces.

    Pork gyro pita
    Erika K.

The pork gyro pita is amazing! The pork is juicy and flavorful, the fries are crispy and the other ad-ons make it really well balanced. Do be warned it is definitely a little greasy as you can expect. The price is very reasonable as well. I've never had greek rice pudding before. Not my personal cup of tea but it was nice to try something new. The food comes out very fast and there's also plenty of spacious indoor seating. They offered a small student discount! Staff is friendly as well.

    Greek salad with Chicken

Freshest salad, grilled chicken to perfection, peppers onions olives feta I mean seriously one of the most delicious salads I've eaten!! I have eaten at the restaurant as well and the staff is always very kind and friendly. Why this place doesn't have ten stars is beyond me!

I had walked past this place several times and had a feeling it would be absolutely delicious, but had been hurt by bad Mediterranean food before so I wasn't sure. But boy am I glad I finally came in because it was absolutely delicious and authentic! I was giddy just walking around and waiting for my food and the first bite-I didn't even have time for a picture because I dove right in! I got the pork gyro wrap that came with pork, sauce, onions and tomatoes, and fries. The pork was super tender and juicy and really complemented the other pieces within the wrap. I will 100% be going back because I think I just found my favorite greek food place thus far in Boston!

We ordered two flavors: Olive Oil & Sea Salt and Caramel & Pistachio, both priced at $7. I'll admit, it's a fun concept and a nice addition to the menu. The Olive Oil & Sea Salt was refreshing and had a subtle savory touch that made it different from your typical frozen yogurt. The Caramel & Pistachio was my favorite of the two, with the crunchy pistachios adding a nice texture and the caramel giving it just enough sweetness. That said, I had a hard time justifying the price. While the frozen yogurt tasted good, the serving size was fairly small, and I never really felt like I was getting $7 worth of dessert. It felt more like an Instagram-worthy upsell than something I'd go out of my way to order again. I'm glad I tried it because I was curious after seeing so many posts online, and now I can officially check it off my list. If you're already at Saloniki and want to try something a little different, I'd say it's worth ordering once just for the experience. Overall, I'd give it 3/5 stars. It's refreshing, unique, and a fun twist on frozen yogurt, but I don't think the value matches the price. I probably wouldn't come back specifically for the frozen yogurt again.

The ordering line moves efficiently, even during busy lunch hours. The space is clean and modern, with a casual atmosphere that makes it easy to grab food to-go or sit down for a quick bite. Staff are usually friendly and generous with portions, especially when it comes to the dips and toppings. The menu offers a solid variety of bases like rice, greens, or lentils, along with proteins such as grilled chicken, lamb meatballs, and falafel. The real highlight is the spreads and toppings, hummus, harissa, tzatziki, roasted vegetables, pickled onions, and more which add layers of flavor and texture. It's easy to customize depending on whether you want something lighter or more filling. Portions are satisfying, though the cost can add up depending on your choices. He had a $100 Resy credit, which ended up covering our entire meal with a little left over. For the quality of the food and the overall experience, it felt surprisingly affordable and very satisfying. The ambiance is open, stylish, and inviting, with both booth and table seating. We were seated at a corner table, which made the dinner feel relaxed and comfortable. The menu is mostly tapas-style, so it is a great spot if you want to order several dishes and share. One downside is that the entrées were pretty meat-heavy. The kebabs, for example, were limited to beef, lamb, chicken, and swordfish. I would have loved to see a vegetable or tofu kebab on the menu. That said, I was still able to put together a really satisfying meal from the appetizers, mezze, and salads. We started with a dip assortment that came with Lebanese-style flatbread, or manakish. The dips included a spicy yogurt-based dip, beet hummus, and another grainier orange-colored hummus. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and really enjoyable. The standout dish for me was the crispy eggplant. It came as thin, tempura-style slices of eggplant with a pomegranate yogurt sauce and a honey glaze. It was definitely on the sweeter side, but it was absolutely delicious--honestly, I could have made a meal out of that dish alone. We also ordered the fattoush salad, which had the classic vegetables but felt especially fresh because of the watermelon cubes, cherry tomatoes, sumac vinaigrette, and capers. My boyfriend also tried the oysters, which were a special that day. Overall, Ilona was a great dinner spot: cute atmosphere, central Boston location, shareable plates, and tasty Mediterranean food. I do wish there were more vegetarian-friendly entrée options, but I still had a very satisfying meal and would happily come back.
