I moved up here about 2 1/2 years ago and was so upset that there was not a place to pick up some great craft beers. The owner Sam is incredible - started visiting because a friend told me they have a good Craft Beer selection. So I went in and of course they stock my fav local beer Lagerithym from Bottle Logic! From my first visit Sam learned my name and started making suggestions to me ! Not only did he help me pick awesome beers I enjoyed but he even ordered things special for me. Beyond that Sam really went above and beyond and Even stocked an awesome barrel aged whiskey that I bought! Sam also stocks a wonderful selection of wines for when I'm drinking with friends. I do not drink or smoke but I accidently remembered that this liquor store is selling lottery tickets, so I decided to stop by and buy some tickets even if I usually buy scratchers. The place is under new management, they added inventory and you will be impressed by the exquisite customer service (for instance, today ,my kids received a free lollypop just because I introduced them to the new owner). I also won every single time I bought lottery products from Grape Press, their selection of scratchers is fabulous . Hardly ever is anybody waiting in line, they are very fast and they excel in multitasking. They pay attention to details and noticed how they repeat and verify your lotto ticket preference and amount. They are very personable, they welcome new customers and make serious attempts to ask customers for recommendations that would improve their business. This place takes customer service to the next level. Sam has to be one of the most awesome guys you will ever meet. Last October I was looking for "splits" to put at each place setting for my 25th wedding anniversary. I spent hours googling places but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I went into the Grape Press, and within a couple of days, Sam is calling telling me he found them, and for an incredible price, as I needed 120 of them. Then, the Canyon Fires happened and he was concerned that they might have a problem delivering them. He called me daily keeping me abreast of the entire process. It's not just that, but every time you are in his store he is so willing to go above and beyond to see to it that the customer is happy. I truly can say that he is rare these days. A new Beer Cave, which gets updated constantly with new drinks. Even the wines range from the basic to the extravagant. I get to California a few times of year and I am always looking for a good liquor store. Usually they don't have what I want or they don't have what I need and they can't get it by the time my vacation is over it's very frustrating. I have finally found one that can do it all for me Grape Press! It's nice to go into a store and be able to buy a nice gift that has not been over priced Ike some chain store or other liquor stores I have seen. I also appreciate not being pressured to buy something I don't want just because it will make the owner a few more dollars. Sam is a great person. Very friendly and knowledgable about his product. He is good to his customers and treats them well. Every time I come back to Cali this is the only place I will purchase my beer, wine and spirits and if you are lucky enough to live here I suggest you do the same. read more

Grape Press Liquor No longer an inconvenience, truly a place where you now feel welcome. Comparing this place to the old way it was run is a disservice. These guys are developing a business that rivals many of the big box liquor stores...and they are doing it with more class and savvy. As soon as you walk into their store, you know you are in a place that truly values servicing their customers. The atmosphere is warm, the selection is great, they will even ask you want you want to see stocked in their store. Yes, they follow through and get you what you asked for. They are creating a great environment for their customers that outshines every other store in their location. They get to know you, your name, even your buying habits all by memory, no digital tracking required. Sam is the Star down there; he is becoming what most of us would call a friend. My neighbors and I like to go see Sam for the usual shopping reasons, but also because he always makes us feel good for stopping by. This is the kind of neighbor we need in the hills. The place keeps getting better each time we show up and it is obvious that they are not stopping the improvements any time soon. One of the biggest surprises you will encounter in the store is that the customers are all so happy to see the new show and they typically are talking and joking with each other as if we had known everyone for a long time. If you have not been to Grape Press in the last few months, it is time you went back or tried it out for the first time. Had a really bad experience it's not about the money but its principal when the owner changes the price on you for the same product u buy over and over again right in front of u and clearly is ripping u off its wrong and I really liked what the new owners did they made it more cleaner and nicer but I would defiantly say they r a rip off. Not happy with how he treated me the price clearly said 99 cents but yet he charges 1.25 he said well with tax it's 1.08 all I said if u want to charge me that that's fine but I'm not returning and if he continues to do that he will be just like the old owners old and beat up in due time. Enjoy ur first year but once u burn everyone they will know. I was really happy for them until he did this. So sorry to put this review but u deserve it. read more

Ok so the options alone here are worth a visit to Grape Press. But I literally go here every time over ANY place nearby for everything from beer/wine to ice cream for my little girls, just because the customer service and friendly atmosphere is THAT good. This liquor store used to be un-inviting... Then Sam bought it and has changed the place 180 degrees! He even built a BEER CAVE for all us "beer-dos".
