I took it to Ann Arbor Toyota and after a few days of having my car they came back and told me that it was going to cost $2800 for rear calipers, rotors, and pads. Seriously??? I called DC Side Street and let them know I was really in a bind and needed to get my brakes fixed and asked them if they could possibly get my car in asap due to not being able to drive it. I told them about the situation and Chris told me be here at 8am the next morning. I was running late due to getting my car late and not being able to tow it. I drove it from Ann Arbor Toyota back roads to get it in. They literally had my car fixed that day by 4pm. They did this because they care about their customers and know that word of mouth is how they get new customers. Oh I didn't mention, they did my brakes do a fraction of the price, literally over half the price of what Ann Arbor Toyota quoted me. I will forever be a loyal customer to this place. Had these guys replace transmission 5 years ago and come to find out, they purposely took out the…read moreparking pawl gear spring to gain them more business and money out of me. That is even after telling them I am very mechanically inclined. After a bit of research and tearing my newer transmission apart, I found they took that spring out. Would have took them to court but I would have to take time off work and lose at least one days pay to end up possibly gaining very little if any. I just figured I would spread the word about this crooked business would be better than winning in court. Use these guys at your own risk and don't be surprised when this happens to you after reading this. This is not the only time I heard of this. I have talked to a couple other people that said something very similar.

Beware Jim's Auto Body and Service under new ownership/management…read more When my wife's car got a check engine light I called the Mercedes dealer first. They wouldn't tell me anything without bringing the car in. I then had the code read at Performance Auto on Mi Ave, an autoparts store. The code identified a common issue related to the crankcase ventilation system, and of course cost me nothing. I decided to give Jim's, my local long term go-to business the work instead of the dealer. I really thought they would fix it. I'd gone to Jim's for everything from a complete engine rebuild to oil changes. Bringing the car to Jim's was a complete waste of time. They identified the code, which I already knew and recommended I bring the car to the dealer. Not only that, they charged me $135 for a service any parts store does for free. If I had known that was the plan I would never have brought the car to Jim's. It's obvious the new management couldn't care less if you are a loyal long term customer. Jim's will no longer be working on any of my cars, Chev, Ford, or Mercedes.
