I have hydro seeded a few of my properties, and the secret is prepping the soil like you're about to plant tomatoes. Too many people "just want grass to grow" and they try to spray seeds on top of dead grass. Not gonna happen. Similar with watering... you need to water multiple times a day if you want to grow grass. The crazy thing is, SOD requires the same prep. If your soil is not prepped, then you need to prep the soil. If you're not watering, it won't grow. Long story short I learned all this after my conversations with grassmaster ladies. I did what they told me, yard looks good. read more

FIRST CLASS COMPANY. I had a large yard (~6,000 SF) hydroseeded in early summer. The first application results in thick healthy grass growing in majority of the yard. There were some bare areas which I called them about and they promptly came back out to reseed these areas without hesitation. EXCELLENT customer service. Very conscientious and friendly. Grass Master came recommended to me by my contractor as I had almost a half acre (24K sq ft) of new yard I wanted to put in. I reviewed the price and plan over the phone but couldn't be home when they arrived to do the service so my wife oversaw the appointment any payment. Suffice it to say I was furious when I found that they told her that our sprayed area wasn't as large as the requirement for the price quote I was given so they sprayed far less material at a much higher rate! Couple this with the fact that I had at least 30K sq ft of existing grass that could easily have benefitted from an overseed I paid to do the minimal amount of 'new' area on my property for what it would have cost me to spray my whole grassed area! Price gouging aside their follow-up service was even worse... Due to delays in their ability to get to my job it was sprayed late in the season. I hear nothing from them regarding their quality guarantee and follow-up service that I had paid a premium for. In the spring I contacted them repeatedly to get the follow up service done (at which point much of what was originally sprayed didn't take or died off). They finally came out and threw down a couple bags of seed when the entire area really should have been re-sprayed. Never again will I utilize the Woodinville Grass master, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone else. read more

My yard looks a million times better than when I started. Amanda and her team made the process very easy and seamless. Quick, efficient and cost-effective compared to other companies I researched. The spray technicians were helpful in educating me on the how to take care of and maintain the grass. Which, I found incredibly helpful. All in all... Grass Masters hydroseeded my house (new constructions - I didn't hire them the builder, premier homes had hired them) before I moved in. There has been many issues where the grass is balding and not growing since the original hydroseed in many spots. I tried working with them in a friendly manner and they don't want to resolve the issue. They did come back and fertilize and reseed however due to lack of enough top soil and lack of drainage the grass is not growing. They blamed me for fertilizing too much which is falsified information. I have copied of the text from their owner where she was telling me its due to lack of enough top soil and drainage in the land which is causing this issue. This could be a builder problem as they didn't have enough top soil prior to seeding. Their owner told me they need 2-6 inches of top soil and I asked them to show me proof they measured the amount of top soil. They refused and telling me all they did was a check box where shows enough top soil but they actually didn't measure it and didn't document how much top soil was there. I have a one year new house warranty on my house and asked them to document the issue so I can get the builder address the problem,. Once I started asking them to document this , they would not put the issue on paper as they have partnership with the premier homes which is the builder and they didn't want to call out the short cuts the builder had taken. I have recovered an image from google maps which is PRIOR to me moving to the property. In the picture its accurately shows the bald spots and all those bald spots are still bald and grass not growing on those areas. I contacted them multiple times and showed them the proof that the grass has had issues EVEN prior to me move to the property and they didn't respond to me. (its obvious the google image was prior to me moving in as it shows the house was not completed fully). This is a scam which they have created with their partnership with the premier homes the builder as they are backing each other and not wanting to fix the original defect in the grass which has nothing to do with me. Even I have 1 year new home owner warranty both the grass-master and Premier homes are not addressing this defect.I gave this company many chance to fix the errors, however due to extended relationship with the builder they are protecting the builder and harming the house owner. Via phone and text messages they blamed the builder however on paper they wont document that this issue is with builder not having enough top soil and bad drainage. There are areas where when it rains I get 2-4 inches of water stuck and doesn't drain and its continuing to damage the grass further. I am more than happy to share all images, texts and emails to anyone interested. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They will perform LOW quality work and will blame you if anything goes wrong. Many areas of my grass was sloped that the grass seed never stayed on it and they should have raised that issue with builder before hydroseed. They are super unprofessional and disrespected my family and myself many times just to protect their company and their bad business ethics. Bad Business Ethics, Liars and will protect the home builders over customers. I also have video footage of my house for the past year which shows the grass which they hydrosseded NEVER grew in many areas and still bald and not growing back. Also note one of the owners themself gave a 5 star review to their own company to boost up their review score and hide the negative reviews. read more

We had Grass Master hydroseed our lawn this week. After they left we noted some areas where the mulch coverage was very thin, with about 50% of the soil uncovered/unseeded. We informed Amanda and Nicole at Grass Master by phone and emailed pictures, but the owner refused to come back and check the areas.The service which is supposed to be guaranteed and includes a follow-up hand seeding and fertilizer, was sold to us as an extra for $100. We now realize that Grass Master's grand plan is to save money by applying a light hydroseed application and then hand seed 1.5 months later. That is not why people pay more for hydroseeding. We can hand seed ourselves. With Grass Master you'll be ask to pay more for no quality guarantee, and can expect to receive an uneven hydroseeding application, which means you'll wait twice as long and spend twice as much time and money watering. I now wonder what kind of seed quality GM uses, because once they get your money, they don't care if you're satisfied. read more

My front and back lawns were ravaged by Crane Flies, so I had the old sod torn out and prepped for hydroseed - I've never used hydroseed before. I contacted Grass Master and Hugo came out and we worked together - Hugo sprayed the mixture and I held a large section of cardboard along the edge of the yard for a sharp boarder. I followed their "Lawn Maintenance Manual" instructions and kept the surface wet. Within one week the grass was growing and now after 18 days it's 3" tall in most areas.
