Absolutely horrible customer service! Extremely rude. The food is just mediocre. But the attitude earns them a solid one star!

Waited 40 minutes for the carbonara, only to have it cold and dry... gave it an extra star for the flavors.

Their kitchen made my kid cry. My twins each ordered the exact same child sized dish. For some reason one bowl came out filled quite high and other was about half portion. The kid who was given the meager amount cried and asked why she got so much less. The kitchen should be mindful that little kids will notice things like this. read more

New place. Lots of pasta and short on vegetables. I had the cacio and Pepe. It was excellent. My wife had the alio and olio (sp?). The burrata was excellent also. There are many dishes here I would like to try. The pasta was very fresh. Went again today 1/1/20. I dropped to 4 stars. I had the chicken Marsala. It was very good. The chicken was egg washed I think. Not really breaded. I also tried the garlic bread which is what one would expect a split roll with butter and garlic and a little cheese. Music was crazy loud and unrecognizable. I think maybe I am too old for this place? I had a glass of wine, tonight the Syrah, which was pricey but excellent. Place was not crazy busy on this holiday. You order at the register and pay and then go and find a spot to sit. read more

Overall I would recommend this restaurant to people and I will be back. I want to give this place a five star review but I have a few criticisms. 1. The volume. There are four huge stage monitors that they hang on their ceiling that blare music through out the restaurant. It doesn't sound nice or make the feeling of being there comfortable. I couldn't hear my friend sitting two feet away and I wanted to leave fast. Probably the reason the music is loud. Maybe they need smaller speakers because it seems like a huge overcompensation. 2. The portions are tiny. Pasta is dirt cheap to make. Maybe I'm just used to other restaurants... or need to eat less. Either way I thought the food was delicious just not enough. read more

This is some of the best pasta I've had. I'm very pleased. I had the cacio de pepe and it was a truffle heaven. The noodles were chewy and you could tell it was authentic in the preparation. It was extremely rich and felt gluttonous, not something I could eat all of the time but feels like a treat. Lots of love in this dish! read more

Entered this place on a nice day with one of my girlfriends. The moment I walked in through the doors I was already judged. The middle aged by who attended me looked at me with disgust. Our presence seemed belittled. I was told that the waiter would take our orders at the table. 15 minutes go by, we decided to order up front. The same man with disgust was being rude and while waiting for our entrée the middle aged man kept starring at us. I believe he was sexist or racist. This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I've been to the downtown one off 12th ish but was so excited for a eastside location. It's quite affordable with entrees ranging $10-16 and the quality is very good. They just opened on 12/31 and you can tell they are working a few of the kinks a little like knowledge of the dishes. They dropped off a pasta dish without the 2nd one ordered and turns out they gave us the entirely wrong dish, Raditore but they made the one ordered Rigitoni still. Also ordered the Carbonara. Very flavorful and rich and you will get full off of this. Food was tasty! This location is bigger and roomier with some booths and then their communal style tall tables. My only tiny negative is something at the counter rings really loud...not sure if it's something w the food delivery service machine or similar. Extremely glad to see this business is doing well with 3 locations and growing. read more

Superb pasta! Ideal texture, cooked to al dente perfection, and the Cacio e Pepe sauce was flavorful. At 5:30 on a weeknight, the music was so loud that the gal taking our order couldn't hear us. We sat in the furthest seat from the many speakers and it was still just intolerable noise. This location is a completely different experience from the downtown location. We ordered and waited a good 35 40 minutes for cold carbonara and overly spicy Fussili w/ vodka sauce and sausage. My friend was too hungry to send the Carbonara back (noodles were over cooked and dry). I took my pasta back to the counter to chose something else they said they could remake it less spicy. That sounded like a good option. The young girl behind the counter then proceeded to tell me next time to read the fine print that there was red pepper flakes in the sauce. I am fine with red pepper flakes and spicy sausage but the heat level was overkill and unenjoyable. The revision was still spicy without the red pepper flakes and was much more in line with Italian style heat and flavor. Unfortunately, I feel the quality and friendliness of the original location has not reached the SE location. Pandemic has made life difficult for us all so I get that finding the right staff is different now. Hopefully this location can work on its service and quality in order to succeed. read more

This place should sell their pasta in a grocery store because the pasta itself is quite good but besides that everything is mediocre at best. There's no fish or chicken options just multiple pork options and then literally pasta dishes with no vegetables. This restaurant has so much potential but instead they decided to become an Italian chipotle. Food options written on chalkboards which you can barely read, small portions decently priced definitely wasn't what I thought it was. Sell your pasta in a grocery store or take it up a notch. read more

The pasta is great but the ambience leaves much to be desired. If you don't mind screaming to talk to the person next to you, this is your spot. Or if you have a kid who has a epic meltdown because they wanted plain pasta but cheese was added, no one will be able to hear it. Visiting from out of the area and was told this was a great place. There is no way to enjoy your food (which is very good) over the blaring music. I hate to say it but, you can get better quality food at the Olive Garden. My Caesar salad was romaine lettuce, not little gem lettuce as advertised and missing the croutons. The sauce for my meatballs was thinner than V8 juice and my cacio e pepe was buttered noodles with a little shredded parmesan and cracked pepper thrown on top. So far I've had basically every pasta dish on the menu and they are allllll wonderful. They can be pretty rich, but fabulous nonetheless. My favorite so far is the Chicken Milanese. This is a place your order first and get a number to bring to your table sort of place without table service. My boyfriend was super put off by that at first because it makes it feel like fast food, but I like it because you can go with lots of friends and not have to split a bill at the end. read more

The first time we had dinner there we found it too salty. I later learned that they can adjust the amount of salt in their dishes and tonight, we tried it again with as little salt as possible - and the result had us fighting over the Radiatore, loving the spaghetti and meatballs and the absolutely perfect, yummy garlic bread. Their house made pasta is literally the best I have ever ever had and it is cooked to perfection, the meatballs are stupendous and the sauces are great. I don't know what gourmet Italian food is, but my guess is that this is it: seemingly simple dishes expertly conceived and prepared with the finest ingredients. I can't wait for the virus to be over and they go back to their full menu because there are several dishes on there that I want to try, but in the meantime, I know we will be having the pasta delivered more often than I ever ever expected I would eat pasta.
