Save your money . No need to travel to Italy . Maglia Rosa brings Italy to you . Both my Erbanzzone tart and Taglia Bolognese were outstanding . For the experience , though , it would be nice to offer grated parmesan , just like in Italy . IMO . Outside seating is huge , next to traffic on Division . There is a great market inside , too . Wines , balsamic vinegars , and pastas , just to name a few . So far , the flavours presented represent the best of Italy .

Love this casual but vibey market! Definitely get the focaccia bread. It's so light with a buttery and slightly crunchy texture. We appreciated the selection of wine. If you buy a bottle to take home it is 40% off!

Simply one of the best meals in Portland. Hands down. The attention we received from our server or maybe she was a manager, was superb. African American woman with blond hair. Maybe mid to late 30's. So attentive, caring, but most importantly knowledgeable about the menu and gluten free options. Definitely to try the tiramisu. It was so good that we ate it so fast and didn't even take a picture. They have some great retail options and we picked up a few things as well. Definitely check this place out.

I would come here everyday if I could. We had a great experience just getting a few drinks and snacks. You order at the counter but you're not forgotten after that. They check on you, make sure it's all good. Nice wine selection. We enjoyed a perfectly sunny evening on the patio. Loved the fried sausage stuffed with olives and the Caesar. Will have to check out the pastas next time!

We agree with some others that the model feels a bit odd to have candles and cloth napkins like a nice sit down restaurant but order at the counter. We and other behind us all missed the menus right inside the door. Then a wait person does come around to bring more water, take more drink orders or dessert. So finish off the atmosphere and let us sit down first and take our order. On to the food. The sugo was good but didn't have the depth of like Cibo but better than the last time I went to Three Doors Down. They explained why the pasta was softer than typical al dente because of the type of flour. It was nice they offered extra Parmesan and I would ask right away next time. I am very intrigued by the to go items too. My husband had the beef stew and it was good and with a nice rich sauce. They were very nice to substitute the mash for some more roasted veggies for him.

Off-menu vegan dish they made for me: Bucatini with marina sauce, toasted breadcrumbs and mint - delicious.

I'm giving this place five stars because, 99% of the time, they've been wonderful about putting together a vegan dish for me. I live in the neighborhood, come in regularly, and the service is usually consistently great. For any vegans reading this: don't assume there are no options for you. There isn't a dedicated vegan menu item, but they've typically been happy to create something off-menu on the fly. Usually they start with a pasta and build something around whatever ingredients look good that day. And honestly, if you're someone who wants to support local businesses, it's nice knowing they'll actually make an effort to feed you. Otherwise, it's hard to become a repeat customer if there isn't anything you can eat. They've found a way to make vegans feel welcome without needing an entire separate vegan menu. The funny thing is, they don't really advertise this as an option; I don't know why. Maybe they don't want to make promises about availability or put extra pressure on the kitchen, but if you're vegan and out with friends, it's worth asking. They've made it work for me 100% of the times I've visited. One of my favorite things is that it's never exactly the same. Every visit has been a little different, and it's actually been really fun seeing the creativity and variety they come up with. That said, I had an odd experience during lunch today. I brought a friend and was treating her, and the staff member working the cash register helping us (someone I don't remember seeing before) seemed quite hesitant about the vegan option. She repeatedly said she wasn't sure if they could do that, which surprised me because it's something they've done for me many times before. I explained that I'm a regular customer and asked that she just check with the kitchen. She came back saying they seemed confused or "bewildered" by the request - which was interesting, because they still ended up making a vegan dish anyway. To be fair, I understand this is an off-menu request and not a standard listed item, so I completely understand someone newer wanting to double-check. What felt strange was how hesistant she was to even ASK - and guess what: later she mentioned wanting to create a more consistent meal option for me so I wouldn't get something different every visit. I appreciated the thought but I actually enjoy the variety. I don't want the same meal every time - I like having a similar experience to other customers and getting to try different things depending on what's available and what the kitchen feels inspired to make. Aside from that one unusual interaction, the food is great. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, though it can get a little loud when it's busy. Overall, I've had overwhelmingly positive experiences and will keep coming back for now.

    Braised Beef Sandwich

Can't even lie, this braised beef sandwich has to be one of the best I've had in Portland. The bread was great and the beef was tender and flavorful. Fast service and cool looking space. I definitely want try more of their menu items.

You can buy fresh pasta, sauces, soups & wine.

What a cool place! Went to dinner w/a friend and it was delicious as well as a cool vibe & great service! I had the lasagna & she had the nettle ravioli w/a butter sauce & asparagus, we had a cocktail, a bottle of wine & a delicious dessert!

Dearest gentle readers,…read more A most scandalous correction must be issued how careless of me. The establishment in question is none other than the divine Grassa, a name that now rolls off the tongue with the same richness as its most indulgent fare. And oh, what fare it is. Here, along the lively stretch of Portland, one may witness noodles brought to life before their very eyes fresh, authentic, and handled with a confidence that borders on audacity. These delicate strands are then enrobed in a mac and cheese so decadently composed, so brazenly elevated, that it dares to redefine comfort itself. And just when one believes it cannot be improved enter the pig belly. Crisp, tender, and unapologetically rich... a finishing touch that transforms the dish into something whispered about in only the most exclusive of circles. Yes, dear reader, this is the sort of indulgence that lingers long after the final bite... the kind that ruins lesser versions without remorse. And so, with that final truth properly set, I take my leave once more. The tales of this fair city draw to a close, but not without leaving behind a most delicious legacy. Until our next adventure ever eastward. Yours most faithfully,

They do not take reservations so be sure to get here when they open to get a good seat if you're coming with more than a party of 4. And while the chicken parm wasn't my favorite, literally every pasta dish I've had has been excellent. Also the penne cotta? Wow. The wild mushroom ragu is rich! My personal favorite is the squid ink pasta with scallops - I've ordered this one a few times and it always slaps. Don't skip the focaccia. The bread with their olive oil is simple but truly unforgettable. The cocktails are consistently great, the atmosphere feels on brand without feeling stuffy like olive garden, and it's perfect for a date night, anniversary dinner, or catching up with friends. Portland has a lot of Italian restaurants, but Gabiano's remains one of my favorites.

I've been to southern Italy (Amalfi Coast) and the authenticity shines through. Piazza's menu is northern Italian and traditional the Italian American marriage we all know and love. It's what Olive Garden promises: to treat you like an Italian family member. When you walk in most of the employees snipe at each other in Italian. Cured meats hang from the ceiling and soccer plays in the background. That's like every actual Italian restaurant I've been to. Their wine list is simple and ultimately not that impressive. It's there to accentuate the food. They have a solid spritz. Whether you choose a dish with fresh pasta or dried (they serve both, depending on the dish) it'll be prepared beautifully. I've been coming here for years and I've tried nearly every one on the menu. Last night I even shook it up and got it delivered: the quality still held. One thing to know: that dish that in essence looks like carbonara is NOT carbonara. It is delicious, but be advised it contains ribbons of actual egg.
