Alan was introduced to me as the tree expert, and he absolutely lived up to the title. I explained what I was looking for, and he immediately walked me over to the first two 6-gallon Orangeola dwarf maples they had just received. We spent maybe ten minutes with the trees, and they were exactly what I wanted. I also told Alan that I had uprooted all my plants last year to redesign my landscape and showed him photos of my front yard. I explained that I wanted more color instead of the usual deep green evergreens and boxwoods. Without hesitation, he walked me over to a beautiful little shrub that changes through five different colors. He was fantastic........knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. She has a great eye and paid attention to my feedback and used it to create something I love looking at everyday when I get home from work. I was on the calendar waiting my turn and they were pretty much on time- which is crazy for a landscaping company during peak season. The last few times I had landscaping done (with a different company) they kept postponing the install and it was several weeks later than originally planned. That company did a great job with the install but their planning and customer service were lacking. But not with Nashscapes. They plan very well. It was a two day job. They pulled all my weeds and installed dozens of perennial plants. Then finished it off with some mulch. They hauled away my old, ugly planters that were filled with dirt. They added amendments to my soil to help my plants grow. I'm thrilled with the outcome and even happier with the customer service. It's very hard to find a company that provides a great service and great customer service. I recently had them come back out to stake up a fruit tree that was leaning too much and they'll be back again to put my blackberries on a beautiful trellis. In the Fall, I'm planning to have them install some evergreens as a privacy screen. I've definitely found the company that I want to work with to make my backyard the magical place I want it to be. It took a while for us to decide on the right pavers and stones to use since we wanted to include existing limestone rocks so they would match closely to our old home. Charlie was super patient and drove around with us to different stone yards to show us what is available. Charlie was great to work with! Buyer beware. I hired Lane from Outside the House (OTH) for a large residential project…read more(installation of 40+ trees) and unfortunately this was a bait and switch experience. The project was quoted far under the competition (RED FLAG #1) but the conversation and intent seemed genuine at first so we decided to support a local small business. By the end of the project, we were hit with a final invoice 30% over budget, to be surprised without warning financially hurt our family. This was just the beginning of the extra expenses needed to finish the project. Furthermore and to our surprise, OTH cannot help with any of the other critical elements of tree planting, e.g. drainage, irrigation, fertilization, etc (RED FLAG #2). The project was performed in late December without any research into the topography and the bed design created a dam that flooded come spring requiring us to outsource a team of landscaping professionals to install multiple catch basins / french drains to prevent all trees from drowning. More financial stress for our family. Sadly, we lost 10 trees dying due to improper planting (OTH installed out trees shallow, provided zero bed prep, and bad location of certain tree species). OTH became hard to get ahold of when we needed them the most. We let them know we had pressure from our HOA to fix the mess (RED FLAG #3). What is most disturbing in this whole mess is OTH not warranting the work they did and blaming us for the issues they created. Now we have holes in our deign, significant additional expenses, and not to mention stress and confusion. OTH is a poorly run business and we wish we had not selected them for our project.
